We show you how to setup Amazon's Echo Sub for Echo speakers, using the Alexa app for iOS/Android - as well as unboxing it, running through the specs and testing out the sound quality using a dinky Echo Dot!
The Amazon Echo Sub costs 120 quid in the UK and adds impressive bass to your home Echo speaker setup. The downwards-firing 6-inch woofer packs some serious power - even testing it with the tiny Dot, the results are solid. Of course, for the best results you'll want to pair the Echo Sub with two of Amazon's top-end speakers, for a true 2.1 stereo setup with full-bodied audio.
Setup via the Alexa app for Android or iPhone is nice and easy. You can quickly pair the sub with any of your Echo devices and group them so they work together automatically, whenever you play music.

I just ordered one of these subs to go with my two Echo studios so I looked around for setup videos and found yours. The most imortant takeaway for me was the Architects, I had never heard of them before, Now I am jamming to some! Thanks

Thanks for this tutorial, it was really good and easy to follow, I want it for my bedroom i have a dot there and a tall Echo in my back room. Might have to get another echo for the bedroom. Can mega Boom work with Alexa does

Every time I hook up my Alexa subwoofer to my firestick my firestick stops working right and just keeps lagging bad but soon as I unhook it my fire tv is fine.

I have a first gen dot I wanted to pair it with but it wouldn't come up in compatible devices and when I tried my other Echo it wouldn't even work so I returned it. Too big and no audio jack also disappointing.

I've paired the Echo Sub to my Echo Studio, but the bass volume is almost non-existent despite setting the bass level to maximum in the equaliser setting. I then tried pairing the Sub to the Echo Plus and to my surprise the bass was punchy loud! Not sure why it's so quiet when paired with Echo Studio. The software on the Studio is up to date. I've already raised a ticket to Amazon and awaiting for their response, but was wondering if anyone experiencing this quiet bass issue when paired with the Studio?

For anyone interested, Amazon have responded with the following: Our Technicians have advised that this issue needs a software fix and the development team will be working on it to provide a fix. The fix will more than likely only be implemented in the new year. I do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. But I do appreciate your patience. Have a wonderful day ahead and Enjoy the Festive season. But anyway I have already returned the Echo Sub.

Yes mine too. If you create home theatre group, sub is useless. It once you unpair and create another group without tv in it, sub works fine.

Guys if you are planning to use with fire tv to create a home theatre, sub is USELESS. Amazon is aware of this and there is no fix. You can only listen to Spotify or other streaming other than RU-vid. I used the home theatre to listen to RU-vid music, but then the sub will be quiet.

This is false information, you have to pair the sub to your echo studios/etc before to create the pairing then pair the home theater to your tv.

Finger weg. In 40 Jahren habe ich noch kein so unausgereiftes Produkt erlebt. Katastrophe. Eine Stunde im Einsatz, verpackt und am selben Tag zurück. So gut die anderen Geräte sind, der Sub ist einfach nur Schrott. Nicht wegen dem Klang, der wäre für das Geld iO. Aber die Steuerung der Alexa kanns du vergessen. Vorspulen, nein. Nächster Titel, nein. Wenn ich im laufenden Programm die Show mit Bluetooth verbinde, läuft auf der Show die Musik vom Handy und auf dem Sub von Amazon Musik der Sound weiter. Wie in Gottes Namen, kann man so ein Produkt auf den Markt schmeissen?
