I'm not a mind-reader, but Dr. Curry was probably thinking "your lying client probably made that up" but was too professional to actually say it.

Amber can’t hide her disgust, inner rage, anger or contempt….she is so transparent. Bless anyone in her life…she is scary

I think the forensic psychologist came across EXTREMELY credible, educated and experienced in her entire manner of speaking and in her body language.

Dr Curry was not hiding anything. She was asked a question in a court of law, answered it precisely with a smile, because as thousands of people will probably agree, Ms. Bredehoft’s question was ridiculous and irrelevant to the case. (Her smile looked to me like she was frustrated with her clown-like demeanor) Ms. Bredehoft was trying to say Dr Curry was unprofessional and discussed AH with her husband, which was, as Dr Curry Stated was ‘Incorrect”. I’m sure if this was asked outside a court of law, where time is not as important, she could had said plenty more and wiped the floor with Ms. Bredehoft.

She was laughing and also sad at the absurdity of the question

Umm. She’s 100% wrong about the psychologists reaction. That snort/scoff smirk was indicative of someone who is diminishing the defense attorney and her lame questions. She’s undermining the authority of her cross examination. Well done too!

Eh I disagree with the “body language expert” about Dr. Curry’s reaction. You are only showing a tiny clip of the long drawn out interaction she was having with Amber’s lawyer. Ambers lawyer had been trying to twist Dr curry’s words, discredit her, imply pretty offensive things about her professionalism, and being aggressive and generally awful for a really long time at that point. I think you need to view Dr Curry’s reaction in the context of all that. Her smirk and smile and response was her way of professionally telling the attorney to STFU. Dr Curry isn’t on trial here. She’s too professional to get angry and aggressively say NO WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT like the “body language expert” suggests someone whose telling the truth would react.

This lady is not accurate at all. The lady smiled because she knew exactly what the lawyer was getting at and was in complete disbelief that she would be twisting the facts in that manner. If you watch the whole thing , we later get an explanation about this ridiculous question. Two. So what if she told her husband, I would tell my husband!

Court tv is horrible with this. The Dr explains herself just minutes later to explain why she was smiling. It was about her husband picking up muffins for a high profile client. An ambers team was trying to twist it.

I'm not too sure about her observation of the Psychologist. I didn't see that at all. I saw a woman who is confident of her answer & did not studder. I would lol on that one also, because it sounds like desperation on the lawyers part.

Dr. Curry was consistent throughout. The pettiness of the AH lawyer question made her smile as she politely told her "that is not accurate". She gave a complex testimony prior regarding her investigation on AH mental health and now she is forced to talk about muffins lol. So much for the ex ATF body language expert. 🙄

She was not holding back. The psychologist was translating her reply into lawyer speak. Otherwise she might not be able to effectively rebuff the false accusation. In addition, the attack must have come as a shock.

So this is why I take body language experts with a ton of salt: I'm studying psychology and we had access to a body language course but one of the things teachers, who are also practicing psychologists and psychiatrists, told is to not overestimate body language. Yes, facial expressions and body posture can be a valuable clue of what someone is thinking or feeling, but they can also mean a lot of things. In this case, I had the impression that Dr. Curry was thinking something along the lines of "oh, Elaine, really? Are we doing this? Is this the hill you want to die on? Let me tell you how things really went" And... I mean. It was muffins. It was all about muffins.

My observation of the Dr when she smiled was more like: Exactly what I've been explaining, AH is delusional with self importance.

Interesting, I watched the whole exchange and I thought the smile was an " is this all you have" she had just sat through eons of this lawyer trying to suggest she was less than professional because his legal team interviewed her at JDs apatment and provided eats and a drink! Most of her answers on cross were no that's incorrect.

JUST BECAUSE SHE TOLD AMBER THAT HER HUSBAND BOUGHT THEM MUFFINS DOES NOT MEAN SHE TOLD HIM WHO SHE WAS. THE DOCTOR KNOWS SHE COULD NOT REVEAL HER CLIENT TO HER HUSBAND.

I see court tv is still trying to be on the AH side. Why not show more of the clip instead of parts that fit your narrative

She smiled at the absurdity of the indication that her husband bought Amber muffins and she instantly knew Amber lied and told her lawyer that her husband bought her muffins. It’s definitely laughable. I laughed too.

I don't agree with what this body language analyzer said in regards to the way in which the doctor answered the defense attorney's question. I've scarfed at an absurd acquisition a time or two in my life, paired with a laugh, a head shake from side to side in disbelief, or better yet, I'm not surprised he or she said that, before saying something wasn't true, followed by a "Hell no that didn't happen!" knowing damn well, I was being truthful. So no, I don't agree with this woman's opinion stating the doctor was absolutely responding deceptively to the question.

I’m not sure if she didn’t see the entire testimony I think the good doctor was kind of excited about the muffin story and wanted to tell it and was waiting for an opportunity.

She wasn’t being deceptive and she did go on to explain exactly what happened when her husband went for the muffins. Amber not playing with a full deck 🤣

I did not interpret the Doctors facial expression to be “sad”, or in “denial”, rather that she was “confused”, so much that she found it funny because the question was so ridiculous.

I have to disagree with this lady, the forensic psychologist reaction reminded me of when someone is trying to accuse me of something I haven’t done, it’s one of those “oh here we go not believing me” 🤦‍♀️you almost feel sorry for the person questioning you because they look like idiots instigating 🤣 so no I don’t think she’s hiding anything at all. She’s pretty sharp and knows what she’s doing.

Interesting when the psychologist said Amber struck her assistant, there was no emotion, but when she followed that with “out of the blue”, Amber reacted. No denying the slap, but objecting to no reason.

For anyone in a relationship of any kind with a narcissist - THIS is one of the reasons you don't go to any kind of joint counseling with them.

I absolutely do not agree with this woman on this. I usually agree with her, but I think she's so far off with this...which, kinda throws me off in regards to her knowledge now .... She probably smiled like that because she knows that is not what the conversation was with Amber but her knowing how people with boarder line personality disorders will make stories and add things to stories to try to get someone else in trouble or to make a better story for them. I worked for 5 years with two people that had this disorder and I finally quite because I was tired of all the bullshit stories and having to defend myself against false accusations. So I don’t think the Dr laughing and saying no was anything other then her knowing that Amber was going to take something that was said and make it seem better for her.

The Doctor's smile was withholding the fact that tr her diagnoses was being presented. Amber had taken & mentally recorded a simple thanks to my husband for the muffins to lying & manipulating the story to say she bragged to her husband.

Amber as an actress is done for sure no matter how it will end.

This expert isn't very good at reading people's body language. Miss Curry responded to Elaine in a light and breezy manner. Her elaborated response was effective in confusing Elaine, and she's a psychologist, so she knows what she's doing.I majored in psychology✌🏾js

Having heard all the questions that the lawyer had been asking earlier in this cross-examination, I'm not surprised to see Dr. Curry react like this to these questions.

I am a body language expert and when I see the body language of your body language expert I see a frantic lier trying to profit from this case.

I think the psychologist’s smirk/laugh was due in part to the ridiculous nature of the question and in part to her not being surprised about such a statement being made. Given her diagnosis of Amber, this statement exemplifies and demonstrates the patterns of behaviour and statements made by someone with that diagnosis. I think she is thinking to herself, “yep, classic case of it being all about her and special treatment for her, exaggeration, lies etc”. Unfortunately, she can’t just say that. I also think it was not really her baseline to say a direct no. Her answers were typically that’s correct or that’s incorrect, which is what she said here.

The “expert’s” body language indicates that she’s no expert.

I'm no expert, but I perceived the smirk because of how the lawyer was so abrasive ...and trying to put words into her mouth..like the "dinner" thing...you had dinner and drinks did you not? While it's very common to have dinner and drinks for a business meeting, but the lawyer was trying to paint a picture of something else..which ok that's her job...but she kept pushing and her style is abrasive...I would be smirking too, holding back any snarky response...and also this physiologist is analytical , you can tell by how she spoke proudly of her reports and the details, so she isn't going to answer just "no" she is going to give a detailed and methodical reply.

Even if I was on Amber’s side of this I wouldn’t believe her. She is way overdue in this it’s disgusting. What a messed up woman.

The only body language experts I trust are The Behavior Panel , and even they make mistakes sometimes. Not only are there 4 of them which leaves scope for differences in opinion (and we can see that, despite their huge experience they sometimes don't agree with each other), but also, all 4 have some serious credentials.

You sometimes make a little smile when someone asks you a stupid question. Because she could not believe what she was being asked.

We learned the full story on cross examination.. she wasn’t able to expand that’s the plaintiff’s lawyer’s JOB! This body language analysis is PREMATURE people!!!

The Dr's face to me was "this is utterly ridiculous... Wtf... who gives a toss who bought muffins for who"!

She explains it later when the lawyer insists. Her husband purchased the muffins for the office as he normally does and when Amber said she liked the muffins, she responded that it was thanks to her husband. Amber, she has a lunatic child-like bahavioral mind, took that to the lawyer without context that she "forgets" and used it in court.

I'm not a professional, but I saw it as she absolutely expected them to go there knowing they represent Amber. Also she thought it was amusing that even though she knew they'd probably try to pick apart her character and go there, that they actually did. Whether or not that's true. This body language expert is definitely team Turd. Her evaluation was so off the wall.

Dr Curry DID go on to clarify the situation with her Husband and her denials were absolute! She’s probably smiling because Elaine has fallen into a classic situation when dealing with a person who has borderline PD. It’s clear Amber lied to her attorney and told her that Dr Curry’s husband made muffins ESPECIALLY for her when in fact he absolutely did not. All he did was pick them up from a store and he had no idea what they were for

Yeah I also felt like the psychologist was very confident with her answers but was annoyed at the *leading question. She looked prepared to fight that lawyer over this and I take that as a good sign😆

The only thing Dr. Curry is witholding is laughter from hearing the inept line of questioning. In my mind she is thinking "you're wasting both of our times".

She’s wrong about Dr. kurry! Flat out wrong. The Dr. had her words try to be used against her and twisted many times at this point of the clip. She was frustrated and trying to hold it back. I do the same thing when someone is trying to twist my words and I see that they are just trying grasp straws to save their own ass. The fact that this lady is trying to discredit her on this clip, this small clip without taking into consideration the rest of the cross examination is almost embarrassing. I feel embarrassed for her.

I do agree that "no" is the strongest denial, however "inaccurate", "incorrect" are, in my opinion, also very strong denial. It's not like the psychologist said "totally inaccurate" or "definitely incorrect", she kept it short like "it's inaccurate!", "you're incorrect!" which was actually all she had to say to that lame question. (Now I'm not a native speaker so I'm not sure how native speakers think of those words). Some people have a really proper way of speaking, in the sense that they always formulate their sentences neat and clear, which has been the way the psychologist delivered her opinions so far. So I think instead of a "no", saying "it's inaccurate!" would suit more to her style of speaking, which I find really affirmative but not actually getting to the point of overly affirmative. And the smile....if someone framed me with something that I particularly find absurd and ridiculous, I'd smile just like she did. Well, I'm no expert and I did see some moments where she got confused and somewhat worked up because of the attorney's questions, but this is not such a moment, in my opinion.

The smirk that Dr curry gave, I would give it 100 out of 100 times if asked an absurd question thinking in my head what you been smokin bro?

Dr. Curry wasn't lying or showing any indications of lying. The smile is textbook "I've got this" or "I got you" look, meaning she knew the defense team had messed up. And I'm not sure who this "body language expert" is in this video, but here denial of telling her husband about her involvement was a deliberate, concrete, and simple "no", just like how most truthful denials present. I'm not sure who this guest expert is, but she wouldn't be able to keep up with behavioral analysists involved in the judicial system where I live.

Well if you made her watch the whole thing she did walk the court through exactly what happened.

It didn't look deceptive to me. It looked to me as if she thinks that's ridiculous. Which it is. Because borderlines always conceive things different and that's why Amber lied and the psychologist found it funny.

The sadness on the psychologists face is likely thinking of how pathetic the lawyer was in trying to twist her previous statements into something else. I would be disappointed in someone trying to twist my words too. How is this woman an expert? haha Seems like she just wants to sell her books.

I have seen a few videos of this supposed body language expert now and each time I'm left feeling very unimpressed for one reason or another. The reason Dr. Curry said "that is not accurate" was because she didn't want to appear confrontational with the attorney. A direct "no," or worse, "you're wrong" would have seemed so direct that it might have been mistaken for aggression. In the corporate world, at least in Southern California where I live, it's very common for people to say, "that's not accurate" as a way to contradict someone in the softest way possible. Dr. Curry surely spends a lot of time with wealthy, So-Cal corporate types and uses their lingo. I'm sure the body language expert has seen plenty of things in her day and is not naive, but she seems ignorant of the social niceties within this particular milieu.

There's an simple verbal key given by People lieing or misrepresenting things. They use the phrase "my truth " and not "the truth"

Did anyone else notice the self-comforting body language of the psychologist who "testified" in court today in favour of Amber? She should know better than being so obvious. Any psychology professionist knows that when lying, we subconsciously comfort ourselves with gestures like stroking own's hair or caressing own hands, arms, knees. The moment you spend 4hrs at Depps house eating & drinking is when credibility comes into question. The Dr was uncomfortable being cross examined. Next time she has a case outside Hawaii, she ain't going to the client's home.

I don't agree with this body language analyst in regards to the psychologist appearing to be holding back information bc she was smiling. Ppl tend to smile when they know they're being asked dumb questions or when they know someone is trying to "catch' you in a lie. Not saying I know her job better than her or I'm qualified but that psychologist was on point. She seen right through that lawyer and was taking all them jabs she tried to throw at her.
