Ambient Minibrute 2S Tune 

It does make a good noise tho:p i make dark landscapes and drones. This with its big mama matrixbrute and a fuzz are a noise match from heaven or hell depends

I often ponder the same thing! The Minibrute 2 has oodles of modulation possibilities that can be used to create really complex and beautiful sounds, the sequencer goes beyond any other integrated sequencer I've seen, and I think that it generally just sounds fantastic. The oscillators and filter can sound seriously fat.

Yeah you can set different step resolution and sequence length for each of the 4 sequencer tracks! So the way I have it set up is 2 pitch tracks for the oscillators , one gate track for the filter/amp envelope, and the last track is set to envelope mode, which outputs a short envelope on the sequenced steps. That's what I'm using to modulate the white noise and resonance :)

@@oliverdowie I was watching a lot of minibrute 2s videos and let me say it's the one with the most "complete" use of the synth. It's there any possibility you can make a video explaining the patch (also the sequencer)???

Yeah the high melody is the second oscillator. Both oscillators are routed through the filter by default, but you can take the CV out of the sequencer and plug it into the VCO 2 CV input to control the pitch separately. I did use the external input for the modulated white noise though :) Getting these tones is all about finding the right balance of oscillator levels, filter level, and brute factor!

Thanks! Hmm yes I think the saw on its own can be a little lacking. I think I tend to always use a mix of both saw and square. The square sounds so good, especially with some pwm. Also having the brute factor up a bit helps a lot too. Or even patch the output back into the external input. I generally run the signal as hot as I can without it completely breaking down with distortion. Doing that, you should end up with a much fuller sound that’s easier to fit into other thing. Hope that helps :)

Any of those would be a great choice! Both the Bass Station II and the Minilogue would be somewhat more user friendly as they have patch memory. The Minilogue is also polyphonic. The Minibrute 2 is the more unique synth of the 3. Really just depends what you want to use it for and what sound you enjoy :)

Just got mine this week and working on this two track style stuff. I’m already super excited by the results and I’m nowhere close to this two track style

Actually just submitted an album to be released on streaming platforms soon! It's only got one of my youtube pieces on it though, and a bunch of other older compositions. I plan to release an album full of this sort of stuff at some stage too :)

I found this video because I've been thinking about buying one of these for about a year now and am thinking to do it now. I have many years' experience making music with software synths, but this would be my first hardware synth. Inspiring sounds and inspiring track here! Thanks for posting it!

Thanks! As with most mono synths I think it's probably better suited to bass, lead, sound effects, percussion etc. The envelopes don't go very long which makes it a little less suitable for pads. Though having said that, there's a ton of modulation options for slowly evolving sounds, and you can sequence the oscillators separately for some nice harmony. Soooo it's probably actually not the worst choice for pads!
