It was actually marketed as a gaming card, the 3090, if you watched the keynote, they even said there was a need for a BFGPU in the gaming space, but they added the production aspect as well, Point is, I am still buying it'! Great video again and I am glad your not a ass hole to people like me buying the 3090! Also, I was thinking ARM was bought by Nvidia for "Moore's law" because of getting close to the end on the size of the GPU nodes and in preparation for that they are going to do something new and different in order to still increase performance when it comes to that point, R&D usually happens years before hand!
Yes the 3090 was labeled as a gaming card. But the Titan was not and sales where lacking. Yes the 3090 is in its on way is the Titan but labeled as a gaming card this way with a number.
Very informative video again, thank you! It's definitely going to be interesting to see what AMD have hidden up their sleeve, especially with the rumored 128 MB infinity cache. I also was burned by AMD/ATI a few years back and swore that i would only use NVIDIA from there on out. however, with the extreme difficulty of even getting your hands on a 3080 right now combined with the recent AMD leaks, it may be a blessing in disguise that 3080's are currently so scarce. Regarding the 3090, anyone that has seen past releases understands that the very top end card is normally for production uses as you say, the only problem this time around is NVIDIA's marketing strategy for the 3090 is CLEARLY aimed at gamers. When the 3090 was announced it was followed by NVIDIA showing a video of them inviting streamers to play games running at 8k, also even the 3090 product page states "it features a staggering 24 GB of G6X memory, all to deliver the ultimate gaming experience". On top of this, the 8k games were played on high settings (not ultra) at 60fps. Judging by how close the benchmarks between the 3080 and 3090 have been, it makes me assume the 3080 could run 8k at low and maybe even medium settings at 60fps that's if the 10gb memory isn't an issue, but as for the 20gb 3080's? no problem. I Just hope that AMD come through this time!
do you think with good drivers this big navi can beat the 3080 (non ti) at 1080p and maybe 1440p i dont care for 4k and i know the 3000 have cuda cores and it scales better for 4k but for me my main res is 1080 and i want higher frame rates so maybe navi is better for my use case. nice video man
The clocks are way off..RDNA2 will be atleast 2150Mhz boost with 20% higher IPC than RDNA for FE cards, NAVI 22 is the 256bit-bus with game-cache, NAVI 21 might have a bigger bus width or bigger game-cache (128MB) , unconfirmed the NAVI 21 might challenge the 3090 with HMB2 vram instead of gddr6.

Really good points, and makes a lot of business sense when you consider how they managed to de-throne intel. For the first time in my life i'll be switching to an AMD processor after the oct 8th announcement; I suspect the AMD GPUs since 15 years are going to come out with a very strong line up. In fact I would gamble that AMD have something heavy this generation for GPUs considering that Nvidia actually REDUCED the price of their new generation which hasn't happened in over a decade and improved performance quite a lot over the beta tested previous gen. I don't think from a business perspective they would have done that if they knew or thought they knew they had AMD. Nivida, as good as they are at making GPUs is greedy asf and wouldn't do that unless they knew they were in trouble if they slept on this gen.
I would quite happily jump from my current zotac 1070ti amp to a rx 6800 xt...only if they made driver's that actually work with there gpu,s.. I chose a vega 56 prior to my zotac.. And after a week of trying to get it ti run properly it went back 1st class to where it came from.. Got my zotac.. Did a clean install.. Worked straight away😁.. Why can't amd do this.. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Yeap Nvida is going to launch a 3080ti if the 6800xt chip isn't cut down. I just want AMD to finally launch a competitive card. I hope their cpus have added interconnectivity with the GPUs aswell.
Quick question: I'm considering the Navi 21 w/ 16g GPU (depending on the price & driver issues) Will I have any issues with PCIe 3.0 vs PCIe 4.0? What about my 5 year old 1080p at 60 FPS monitor? What can I expect? I have a Ryzen 2700X CPU with the Gigabyte X470 AORUS GAMING 7 WIFI (rev. 1.1) mobo. Orion Pleiades pci lanes are different than they use to be. Yes you will take a little hit but not as big as you think. That monitor will needs some help lol. And make sure you have at least 16gigs of memor to let things have breathing room. I don’t see you stress anything if your running this and getting by. You will get a big improvement with memory and monitor.

@@dennisozgan2200 if those are the true clocks, then I cant see how AMD competes at all. I have a cheap quality cooler on my 5700xt, and even that boosts stably up to 2100, and can stay around 1.9Ghz consistently. I cant imagine how big Navi would have such low speeds
ok. you asked us to ask questions. here's mine: 10 months ago when people started speculating about the zen 3 cpus they would also mention the coming of x670 chipsets and motherboards. is that still in the cards or has it been scrapped? it would be nice to get an x670 chipset that supports QUAD CHANNEL MEMORY...

Was commeting this but noticed youre post . i thinks he has the clocks wrong , but there is a possibilty that there is a 6900XT with 16GB mem. and maybe a 6900 with reduced MEM and bandwith but with the large cash for less. And 6800XT down are cutdown.
@@dennisozgan2200 The memory i stated is correct. There is other factors here i can not talk about just yet. Clock speeds, Cache amounts, And just a note (these cards are not nvidia so they work a little different)

I hear AMD video card and first thing I think of is "Garbage drivers and settling with mid tier performance as well as no dedicated Gsync Module. I still Rock Intel because of IPC of the intel cpu's being better for gaming, but I just recently bought a x570 board, pre ordered a Samsung 980 pro and 64gb of 3600 cl16 ram in preparation for Zen 3 5900x! Going to the Gen 4 M.2 Baby!
