9:13 I’m glad that you posted this on the 81st anniversary of The Dover Boys at Pimento University! It’s my favorite Looney Tunes one shot and I totally agree that it deserves to be added. I’m amazed that A Wild Hare still hasn’t been added. It’s Bugs Bunny’s first appearance, and it should be added. I definitely agree with you that at least one Felix the Cat short should be added. Red Hot Riding Hood and The Skeleton Dance are two more shorts that immediately come to my mind of cartoons that aren’t in The National Film Registry but really should be added.

I'm surprised that The Nightmare Before Christmas isn't in the film registry already, i knew that it wasn't but it's still surprising to me

I've been collecting physical NFR titles since 2018, and it's always interesting to see what's added every year.

well, I'm really happy about the animation selections this year. god selection as a whole. also, I would like the correct one thing. they DO allow non-American productions, it's just EXTREMLY unlikely. to quote they're website, "Registry criteria does not specifically prohibit television programs, commercials, music videos or foreign productions" some animated film that you didn't mention were on my nomination list include: "A Boy and His Atom: The World's Smallest Movie" a technological marvel. "A Charlie Brown Christmas" the soundtrack is already in the recording registry. "A-Ha: Take on Me" one of the most unique and innovative music videos of all time. "Avatar" its goanna happen eventually. I haven't even seen it, just wanna get it out of way. groundbreaking effects. "Bambi Meets Godzilla" this was WAAAAAAY ahead of its time. "Der Fuehrer's Face" really shows how different the world was during WWII. "Fritz the Cat" brought the medium to whole new heights. "Song of the South" with how Disney keeps trying to erase it from history, I think it NEEDS to be preserved before it's gone forever. "Space Jam" nothing like this had ever happened, and only reason it happened again is nostalgia bait. it's one of a kind. "The Band Concert" I think the first color mickey mouse short should be in. not at the top of my list, but it'd be nice. "The Secret of NIMH" as you said, don really does needs to be in the registry at some point. I just think this should be the film that gets in, being the first.

At the end of 2023 Lady and the Tramp got preserved too.

I wonder what the next 10 or more years will be like for the NFR. Imagine a modern animated project being there in the next 60 years.

You're right a Felix the Cat short has gotta be on there eventually I would go with the first short from 1919 Feline Follies.

It is pretty troubling that nothing from Don Bluth is on there yet.

I could be wrong but I seriously doubt the South Park and SpongeBob movies would make it since their movie continuations of tv shows
