Since their debut in the mid-1990s, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, colloquially known as drones, have demonstrated lethal prowess, earning their place as a cornerstone of 21st-century combat.
Military drones have carved a niche for themselves in history by revolutionizing warfare in a manner that few technologies have achieved. These aerial powerhouses boast the capacity for long flights and expansive area coverage.
Combined with their cutting-edge sensor and camera technology, they yield unprecedented intelligence-gathering efficiency and dependability.
Moreover, drones have proven instrumental in safeguarding American pilots while executing precision strikes on a global scale, all while significantly reducing operational costs compared to conventional aircraft.
Yet, since their inception, drones have inadvertently inherited many limitations, primarily due to being designed to emulate traditional strike and surveillance aircraft. Enter Martin UAV Corporation, the visionary force behind the revolutionary V-BAT 128 drone.
This trailblazing UAV aims to propel drone technology into a new era by retaining the formidable attributes that have made them indispensable on the battlefield while adding the game-changing ability of Vertical Take-Off and Landing.
The bold design of the V-BAT 128 has given birth to a one-of-a-kind drone featuring a perplexing flight style that has piqued the curiosity of military enthusiasts across the globe.
Should the V-BAT 128 fulfill its promises, it would perform all the tasks of a contemporary military drone while exhibiting the versatility to land and take off from spaces as small as 3.6 meters, heralding a new chapter in the history of aerial warfare.

At the 9 minute mark, you accidentally said the drone had a service ceiling of 6.09 meters. That's only like 20 feet. You might want to edit that part.

Thanks for this presentation. However in my opinion "colateral damage" is not the fault of the platform whether manned or unmanned, its ultimately the fault of the mission commander. Imagine a manned aircraft i.e. an A10 "thunderbolt" at 10'000 feet, the pilot would have little or no chance of identifing a target with "the Mk1 eyeball" he/she would need to rely on EO/IR sensors, exactly the same as a UAV. Its the following decision to release or not release the payload, that matters. A VTOL option has been around a while. Personaly liked the option of the Bell "Eagleye" UAV. This would have been very usefull!

If I was the designer of this drone, I would have built it with a retractable wing to make it's footprint would be at the minimum circumference of the landing gear for VTOL.... And once VTOL was obtained, the transition to horizontal flight is used, and back again to land.... From the looks of it, that footprint could be about 4 to 6 feet in diameter, and as tall as the craft is long....
@firstmkb
@firstmkb 10 месяцев назад
The payload for the craft was only around 20 pounds. How much of that capacity would a rotating wing (that operates in flight) consume? It’s an obvious idea from looking at the drone, but it wouldn’t improve the utility of the vehicle much at all.

@@firstmkb Maybe too much, but 120 years ago the Wright Flyer started out with a flight endurance of a few seconds.... And today they're calling the F-22 Raptor obsolete.... The future starts with an idea or a dream, and goes forward from there.... First you find a need, then fill it‼️😉‼️

What is crazy about this drone is I can see a rig being made that allows it to land on and take off from the bed of a truck with no human interaction so you would be able to quickly drive out to a area push a button and the drone flips up to take off position and off it goes. Then you can drive off like nothing happened and meet it miles away when it is done with its mission and the drone will land perfectly into the landing rig then be laid down on its side to be concealed and you are gone.

But what do viewers really want to see? 100% of us wanted to see this thing transition smoothly from vertical to horizontal, and back. So, you conveniently showed this exactly ZERO TIMES. There was one crappy herky jerky clip where it was flying vertical, then horizontal, without showing the transition, and you showed that crappy clip about 3 times. What makes this drone special? What do we want to see? You ignored the SINGLE THING that this video was supposed to be about. This was the worst Dark Tech video ever, and the only one I've ever downvoted. It sucked.

Looks more like a crash looking for a place to happen. More waste of our tax dollars... We have other craft that can to the same thing.

Every time I hear about the so called “morality” in war I cringe at the idea there is any morality when killing military over non military … they are the same. If you go to war, use everything you have to win as quickly as possible, anything less is immoral as it only prolongs the terror of war. ☠️

they are NOT the same.. a soldier has a certain expectation of death in war AND the ability to maneuver and fight back.. a civilian has NEITHER of those things. to the point we all wrote down very plainly the differences in the rules of war.. countries who ignores those rules tend to get a visit from the US military

@@ripvanwinkle2002 you, like most brainwashed sheeple are missing the point, killing is killing, there is NO FKN MORALITY in WAR, whether you have the ability to fight or not, so why pretend one is less moral than the other. Expectations of a soldier doesn’t change the Moral aspect of the issue. If a FKN government wants to fight a war, send the officials who would send the troops into harms way go to fight first.

There is a generally accepted principle of “proportionate response” that keeps us from using the most destructive weapons available, immediately. I’m not in favor of military deaths, however, they have chosen to assume that risk for whatever reason. Civilians have not chosen to accept that risk, and historically, targeting civilians has not been an effective strategy for winning a war.
