This is such an iconic LA movie. Here's Richard Gere walking into the Probe, 836 North Highland Blvd, which was also the home of the industrial club, Kontrol Factory in the 90's.
The only part of this movie that I found to be a bit implausible was how easy it was for Richard Gere to drive without hitting traffic and find a parking space in LA
+Sasha Carter Did you notice both Mercedes head rests were removed from front seats for aesthetic filming purposes? You can clearly see the empty insert holes for the missing required safety components.
I remember watching this scene and looking back it was very powerful. Julian driving around realizing that he was a "Phony" hanging out with the folks from The Country Club even though he got in due to circumstances of a questionable nature. Also, going into The Gay Bar where he may have gotten his start "hustling" and not having a problem being inside even though he only serviced Women.
ITSFULLOFSTARS1 Nope, that's Probe, formerly the Paradise Ballroom and 836 N., 836 N. Highland Ave. at Willoughby. I was a frequent flyer there. Odyssey 1 was a kiddie bar. Probe was DEFINITELY for grownups, closest LA ever got to Studio 54.
+ITSFULLOFSTARS1 No prob...just ask someone who was there at the time. BTW, the guys on the dance floor? They're authentic, not actors. I'm one of 'em.
Can you imagine how frustrated he felt. Driving around, knowing he was a "Fake" Somebody instead of a "Real" Nobody. (Tom Ripley anyone) then going back to the place where it all began for him when he was hustling before Ann took him under her wing.
Giorgio was one of the original EDM master's and his sound was hot back in the 1980s through Donna Summer and Blondie. His influence has open doors for the new generation of EDM artists today. I'm glad he made a decision to do his sound live soon, so we will see how that turns out, since his sound was done in studios around the world. Danny Stringer Jr from Stringnote Mgmt in Los Angeles. I'm pretty sure Diplo, Calvin Harris, Skillex, DJ Snake, Major Lazer knows about the master...

My name is Giovanni Giorgio, but everybody calls me...The Sound Of Future.
Would have been lovely to match the music to the action in the movie..but, what the hell, I can watch Richard Gere for a long time without getting bored!
In the movies Richard Gere starred two women always have influence on him:one destroys him and the others redeems him.Eg:An officer and A gentleman:his mother killed herself.Debra Winger eases his pain. in Red China the murder of a model puts him on the brink of being shot.A female lawyer saves his life.Mothman:car crash kills his wife,A pólice woman saves him from get drowned...and so on.
The number of times I stumbled up and down those stairs at Probe is probably greater than the number of grains of sand in the Sahara - or snowflakes if there happens to be 'Snow on the Sahara' - LOL.
Thank God John Travolta did not take the lead in this movie. He was the first for the role but he turned it down. Thank God again Richard Gere took on the role afterwards - and that's the bottom line cause Stone Cold said so (from 976-CREOLEMAN).
The PROBE! I lived right down the street from that on Highland Ave. Those were the days, just 21 and the hottest edgiest gay dance club in LA. Back then, women were not allowed so the vibe was much more masculine and sexually charged. It was more of a hardcore leather bar, not for WeHo twinks playing dress up or roaming bands of hens and their bachelorette parties.
I’m 44 and and was 3 when this came out. Always heard of the movie, but I don’t know? A straight male prostitute? Something I’ve never heard of, still, in my entire life. If that goes on still today, I would have no idea. With gay men, yeah. But straight men? Kinda weird. But I watched it and really loved it. Never saw anything with Lauren Hutton in it, and really loved her. And all I saw with Richard Gere in, because I just found him boring over the years, was Pretty Woman. Really wasn’t impressed with him in that, but after seeing him in this, I kinda wanna see the other hit films he’s been in. Great story, with that shocker when his other pimp sets him up for murder and after a scuffle with Here’s character falls and dies off the balcony. So many great layers to this film.
& since you wanted me to know You might..could have loved me ..more than ..then..it's just my spirit around place You walk..and nothing more..Even my feelings seem that lousy in my soul..becaus e iur secrets you gifted to somebody thinking I havnt told You that I might could have love d You that infinity like the secret we hid watching space around us like loud strike of the clock that Everytime opened another wound on our bleeding hearts
That's exactly what it is. Call me was used in the movie. It was formatted into different versions for various scenes, much like you would find in an opera. Listen to the song Night Drive form the soundtrack, you will hear it again. The listen to the song Night Drive Reprise you will hear it again, but this time slowed way down. Same song.
sembra una CAMPANA a MORTO...come si dice in ITALIA!!! Sono COETANEA di GERE...e quante volte mi sono TROVATA da SOLA a dover DECIDERE della mia VITA!!!
Valeria Zarate Spoiler alert! He was looking for the man who had framed him for murder. It’s been years since I’ve seen it, but I think that was why. I’ll have to watch my DVD again, purely for research purposes. The fact that Richard Gere is beyond gorgeous has nothing to do with it 😍
