I love seeing people's reaction when going back into the boys' early discography. Even after all these years, the talent is recognizable. And some people (including myself) start to love them even more. And as the years go by, the improvement these boys made becomes much more apparent and respected.

This song is from their debut album "2 Cool 4 Skool", which has two singles: this one and "No More Dream". But also important is their unofficial single "Born Singer" (a reworking of J. Cole's "Born Sinner"), released one month after their debut. This song is very near and dear to BTS and ARMY. My favorite video of this is the stage compilation. There's also a recent performance in their set "Proof Live".

Incase you forgot: BTS is an acronym for Bangtan Sonyeondan, which translates to Bulletproof Boyscouts. They got made fun of for the name, but they absolutely live up to it. "We are Bulletproof pt 1" is a pre-debut song, and the 3rd in the trilogy "We are Bulletproof: The Eternal" is from a 2020 album, the song is a dedication to the relationship they built with ARMY.

Love love love baby Bangtan. One of their best songs.

My fave part of this song is Jimin's part. " If you've done enough like me, throw that stone"... It's like saying before critisizing or hating on BTS be sure they experienced the same struggle BTS has gone through. And until now no body can throw that stone at them, cause nobody experience the hardships and the success BTS experience in the entire kpop industry.

Also I can recommend "spinebreaker", "silver spoon" and "no" if you want to see them address social issues If you just want to see their rappers be tough while also technically very very good, you can check "Ugh", Cyphers (best are 2-4, in the first they are kinda inexperienced and you can hear that), as well as "Outro: Tear", which is also rap, but much more personal. Usher just so happens to be Jimin’s idol. The type of music he was into/influenced by, especially back then, was R&B/pop. You‘ll notice the guys’ influences are like mainly 90s hip-hop and R&B (including 80s). But you’ll hear more genres and styles in diff flavors as well since they are real lovers of music.

That's Hobi, a lot of people will tell you that he raps like he dances. It is as if he is dancing on the beat with his flows. All three in the rap line, RM, Hobi, and Suga, definitely know how to ride a beat!!! But with Hobi he has this different and unique signature. He does variations, he mixes in his melodic side, and he seems to love to try all diifferent kinds of flow changes, even within the same song. When Hobi raps you almost never know exactly what you will get, you may have an idea of some of what to expect, but he switches things up a lot, and continues to suprise us. Hobi truly gives such variety, and is extremely good at it coming from all different directions. He makes even flows that we might usually think are a bit odd, or a little off, sound great, and extremely creative in how he puts it all together. He is without a doubt one of my favorite artists!!!💜💜💜

I'm 47 from Chicago, and I grew up listening to all types of music. Then music got stale, and my daughter introduced me to BTS. They are humble, truly organic, talented, and open a lot of doors but still get that pushback, but they are bulletproof. They have been a blessing to others.

Love this that you're reacting to their debut song its really underrated back then but you can't deny their power from the start.

They were considered monster rookies for a reason. They came out the gate killing it.

BTS' debut era was something else. Their 90's gothic-hip-hop style was a little odd, but everything about the performance showed that these guys were well put together. You expect a new artist to have room for improvement, which BTS isn't exempt from, but compared to other groups they just had that "something different" that was needed.

Jhope's rap stlye really reflects his dancing connection to the music. Its unique

They’ve done it live different times throughout the years, so definitely watch the ones around the time this came out when they were younger. But one of my favourites has to be “we are bullet proof pt.2 live performance 5th muster” which is a lot more recent. Whichever one, they’re all good, but pleaaaase watch it live! 💜

2013 debut BTS were just incredible. They had been working so hard and were so sincere about everything they did. Jungkook, the youngest, was 15 then; Jin, the oldest, was 20. The quality they delivered was really outstanding. And the crazy thing is they still have the same determination and sincerity today, the only difference is that they aren't as desperate anymore. As they were from a small agency and had been attacked a lot, they were desperate to prove themselves and to prove others wrong. By now they have become secure in who they are as a team and as artists - but they have never ever become complacent or arrogant.

Usher was definitely an inspiration of BTS among so many other artists western or not. Awesome you picked up on it!! :)

Their ages here during that time were 20-15 years old … JIN (20) and JUNGKOOK (15), they rest were in between 19-17 years old. This was also JUNGKOOK early years of rap-singing.
