To give that some context at the time Saturday Disney was the cartoon show that aired on Saturday mornings in the morning time slot on the same channel (7) as Agro. So yeah he was joking that if they fuck up and get the show canceled then the Saturday Disney crew would take over that whole time slot for the week. Of course at the time Disney wasn’t what it is today so they didn’t have all the marvel and Star Wars cartoons to throw at that kinda thing and they weren’t going to have non Disney owned cartoons so it was never a real threat when he said that.

This was the early nineties and at the time, Agro's Cartoon Connection out rated both Good Morning Australia and The Today Show. It aired Monday to Friday. Saturday Disney was on Saturday mornings. Agro's Cartoon Connection got axed in late 1997.

@@unstoppableExodia The Disney Channel didn't exist in Australia at the time, cable tv didn't arrive in Australia till like 1994-5. So Channel 7 ran all the Disney cartoons, World of Disney content and whichever movies they could convince Disney to put to air. The company was massive at the time as well, it's not true to say they weren't a behemoth at the time. They've just become a bigger behemoth.

This show (at least some years) was filmed in front of a live studio audience. I went to the filming as a young child and all these jokes went over my head, but I remember my parents wanted to go again and again. Also, some behind the scenes was that they used to do prize giveaways to the kids in the audience and hand out bags of snacks, and Jamie Dunn - the absolute legend that played Agro - who spent all his time curled up under the table came out on the ad breaks and was really nice to all the kids. I seem to remember during one ad break, the kids were invited down to see the animal that Ranger Stacy brought and to pat Agro's head while he made snarky comments at them. I'm fairly certain I touched that felty face once. Anyway, excellent show and great memories for kids and adults alike. Definitely couldn't get away with it these days and it's a shame I was too young to really appreciate it at the time, but that's what it was all about. Thanks for making this video and bringing back those memories!

True that most of the clips you see on RU-vid were outtakes that were not aired. One of the funniest things they did air was a segment with a guide dog (normally extremely well behaved animals) … Agro was inside a letter box and the puppeteer stuck the puppet out of the box with a letter in its mouth and the dog ripped the puppet off and started violently shaking and chewing it like a toy while the puppeteers hand was left naked sticking up out of the box 😹

This is what freedom really looks like where you can do something that not everybody agrees with and you do not need to impose your values on another
@blodknut5595
@blodknut5595 3 года назад
Or.... this is what freedom doesn’t look like... when someone has the “freedom to” do something that publicly imposes their values, such as casual racism and casual sexism, onto others who are denied, by these actions actions, another type of freedom - the “freedom from”- to be free from being publicly ridiculed, denigrated, “put back in your place”, or stereotyped because of being female, or an immigrant, or non-white, not heterosexual or gender diverse or disabled. The limits of a persons freedom to do something is reached when it denies another’s persons freedom from being treated in ways that diminish them as a human, that deny them equal standing in society, that relegates them to second class citizen status, and prevents them from enjoying the rights that others enjoy simply because of being different, unconventional, or not traditional to the “mainstream” culture. But hey, you still have the freedom to do something that not everybody agrees with and you can be free from the imposition of others values.... in your own home - it’s just that when it comes to your freedoms in public settings you just need to consider your actions and the impact on other’s freedom - the “freedom from” type of freedom.

I got to watch him film some scenes in the studio and it was just fantastic to watch. Jamie Dunn is SO funny! That my friends says it all - with the times are a changing - although the kids were laughing for a different reason the the adults - I think it was done tastefully lol.....those really were the days and thanks for keeping it alive - laughed throughout as It floods the memories of my teenage years......innocent badger.

The woman who sent hate mail to Jamie Dunn who voices Agro was Jacqueline Draper (also known as Jackie Cochran) and she was arrested and charged for it. She had nothing to do with the show's production and was never a host. The show's most popular host Ann-Marie and Jamie Dunn himself have spoken in later years of having a good working relationship together while on the show.

@@RobboTheDisabledVlogger mate the evidence is all there in the public forum including the media reports and the court case in December 2014. She was charged with one count of stalking and 16 counts of "use a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence". She got off with a good behaviour bond. It was *not* Ann-Maree Biggar. The woman was *not* a host on the show or anything to do with it. Jamie Dunn himself was interviewed about this. It's plastered all over the web but you can believe whatever you like - doesn't change the fact it's false and was nothing to do with the host.
