"Mister Robins". My old teacher from secondary school. Used to make us read out plays in class. He liked me, because I could do voices. He was disappointed that I became a scientist rather than a voice actor. We all got so excited over the 6 years I was at Strathmore High as he started cropping up on radio, then TV ads, and finally, by my first year at University, he was Uncle Arthur on a Sunday Night prime time comedy show, and never went back to teaching.

Glenn is a brilliant comedian. He’s wonderful. His character Russell is so good and he plays it so straight but Russell is an idiot but is convinced he knows it all. He writes his own material. Glenn has done quite a few Russell Coight shows.watch as many as you can. It’s a real good laugh. also Russell’s last name is slang for Backside. You get the picture. Another one of Glenn jokes for Russell. ❤️❤️🐨❤️❤️

@@robertgilbert1987 You're certain about that? "Coight" couldn't possibly be a reference to coitus? There's another word for the same act which also describes many of Russel's "fixes"?

For reference, by the way - "coight" is Aussie slang for backside or buttocks. If you get a kick up the coight it is because you have done something stupid. Oops, I see it was pointed out earlier - I'll keep this here for the additional connection to stupidity.

Russell Coight : I never go into the outback without a decent supply of water, and the general rule for how much you'll need is three litres per day, per person, per man, per degree over 25 degrees celcius, per kilometre if walking on foot, in the winter months dividing it by two, plus... another litre... at the end.

You completely missed a bit in the last scene where when he arrived, there was a close up of him shaking hands with a female in a floral dress, then when the camera pans out, it’s a old bloke in a white shirt. He used to do this gag all the time, sometimes it was a black hand, then some old white dude 😂 subtle but funny.

Another character Glenn Robbins did on The Comedy Company was an American aerobics instructor. Dressed in fitness gear, showing people how to do workouts in the office, at home etc.

Classic. There's a great juxtaposition between legitimately good advice and then screwing it up spectacularly. It's been years since this show finished but my friends and I still say "Time to hit the road" whenever we do something stupid. It's from the full show when old mate Russ does something stupid the very next cut is usually him driving off in a hurry, sometimes the narration says "time to hit the road".
@Mirrorgirl492

And one always reads: "Time to hit the road." in Russell's voice, hilarious.
