Volvos and Scanias are the most popular trucks in Finland, so most trucks in these events are usually those two brands. There was no comment in the original video, but the video for the second half is titled "Tieliikenne...", directly translated to Road Traffic, meaning that it most probably was stock trucks used in daily transport.

not necessarily stock, but just road legal i think. You can still tune up a truck to pretty big power and be road legal 🤔

@@jaskajokunen3716 No you cant unless its older than lets say 1990. You can barely change the airfilter or do an exhaust. You cant change the tuning of the engine in any way. Ok some Volvo/Saab E85 and other certified tunes like Mountunes some Ford ST/RS/Mustang tunes are allowed. Yes you can get big power, but not legally, unless you are willing to do all the environmental tests for the exhaust gasses etc. from your own pocket.

Power truck show is much more than just truck pulling competition. You could check Bruce Wilson channel. He is from states, Florida man if I'm not mistaken. And Scania lover, and he was here, Visiting ylivoimala (Truck tuning shop, specialized in Scania and Volvo) and he visited the power truck show.

As many have pointed out, we have specific classes in truck/tractor pulling for road use trucks. We also do log pulling: loaded logtrucks hillclimb and all and everything you can think of. We have a LOT of these boxtrucks (rigid chassis/full trailer) in northern Europe especially. Weight distribution and axle length is far different to that of a semi truck but in essence it's the same thing. Just longer wheelbase and a box put on it rather than fifth wheel. Also I love it that especially in Finnish shows we have regular daily drivers/all day workers on the shows, cleaned and made nice for the show - and after the show, they go back to pulling loads up and down the country. And one specialty in Europe (at least northern parts, can't really say about central/south) most of the fancy looks are actual airbrushed. Not taped over. We have a lot of great artists that airbrush those trucks, their trailers and even the whole full trailer + boxes/whatnot to make a clean smooth look all across.

We're kinda odd. There's a cover band Steven 'n Seagulls who play AC/DC covers with banjos, upright bass and hammers on anvils. Then there's HC Andersen, not Danish author Hans Christian Andersen who wrote the fairytales but HardCore Andersen that plays HC punk based on those stories. With a xylophone. And then the game My Summer Car, which is a pretty accurate simulation of 90s rural Finland.

Herlevi family used to rule the tractor pulling scene and won everything there was. They're now scaled down now and hey do occasional competitions in finland with their tractors and trucks but focuse on their company that modifies diesel fueled vehicles

With Volvo and Scania USA would be better country. With trucks made in USA there are yesterday solutions that in the end gives you poor money. I think trucks made in Scandinavia you would see another answer in your pocketmoney

2:26 the cab was from an old Scania, cant really tell the year, but would say somewhere around the 60s

That style is used from the 50’s until the early 80’s. I’m not enough of a expert to tell you the exact years or the exact model though.

This cab design was pretty much the same on all hooded Scanias (L models) between 1958 and 1980, except for the V8 models (140 and 141). The "BMW style" radiator grill came already in 1944 but otherwise that earlier hood design was significantly different from the 1958+ design. Different were also the fenders and headlights but this truck doesn't have these in original.

The second Scania conventional is an older model (L series?), it has the original hood and cab but is lowered to the ground, the bed is made to look like one of these oldtimer pickup trucks

Yes, All L Scanias had this cab and hood design between 1958 and 1980, except for the V8 models (140 and 141). But the fenders and headlights aren't original Scania on this one. The first L series of Scania came out already in 1944 and already with the "BMW-style" radiator grill. But the hood, fenders and headlights were significantly different from the 1958+ models.

The first part of the event was competition tractor pulling, than competition truck pulling and in the end road legal truck pulling. The truck that is transporting the sleigh is a 1986 Scania T-142 H, imported back in Europe from USA, from that 14.2 liters V8 the owner put other 2 turbo on the truck. You saw the pulling event, but on the parking lots there was exposition of trucks, old and new, European and US trucks

yeah it should be in a museum never seen a sled that old, but we are also in the far corner of europe when it comes to finland but it is kind of fitting, we keep the new ones away from the rain and and use the old ones. many pulling events have dropped it cause of the weather in northern europe this year.. not in finland they dont mind pulling on a soup and pusing their stuff around with hands, like you see in a couple of videos from there

I would assume the reason we see mostly Scanias and Volvos is because it's easy to find spare parts for them and they have the most powerful stock engines.

Check on same event, the american guy from the channel ( Bruce Wilson ), who bought SCANIA and has 2 or 3 now, in USA, was there on the event you reacted, and even inside the sled , while trucks you've seen here..

This cab and hood design was used on all hooded Scanias (L models) from 1958 to 1980 except for the V8 models (140 and 141) that got a new, more "square" cab. The fenders and headlights on this one aren't original Scania. Btw - this is a real Scania cab put on an old Sisu race truck chassis.

yeah watching road legal trucks is hardly worth it when you can watch real monsters in action we have tractor pulling in the city where i live, and this was nothing like a real pull but it is finland so it is hard to get people from all over europe to transport their monstopr tractor. speacially when they see that old sled the tractors will be afraid they rip it apart 🤭

yes this truck pulling thing is like watching children play football, its very hard to watch when you know you can watch the same with the real thing, that is made for it but many of the pulling events are closed this year, thanks to the weather in northern europe they was pushing thge stuff around with their hands in the parking areas, like it was a music festival in roskilde

You should do a reaction video of the new Edison motors video were they went to a truck exhibition in the UK. It's called: Is Europe 10 years ahead of us? We find out. Also the Bruce Wilson trucking page here on YT went to this truck show in Finland. He did a video where some crazy finns tune a Scania v8 to some serious power... God bless and lots of love from Norway. Love the channel because you are so genuine. Most "american reacts" videos are very fake in a way I hate.

this hurts to watch, its like watcing children play football. it hurts to watch... when you know you could be watching real tractor pulling with monters, insted of supermarked trucks on delevery i get why all they could get was a 50 year old sled who would want to ride their monter tractor all the way to finland and how many monster tractors are in finland all they have is trucks that can deliver food from other countrys 😜
