In Australia we don’t use color in jokes. We are a multi cultural country. We do culture though no colour. Emeninin wasn’t allowed in Australia 🇦🇺 for awhile. There was a problem coming in.

Isaac is a pretty funny guy, but if he's going to go off about people being offended by jokes about little kids dying in a recent jumping castle accident, he probably needs to learn to read the room a bit better. Also to say "either everything is OK in comedy or nothing is ok in comedy" is a logical fallacy called a "false dichotomy" - falsely stating that you either have the choice of one or the other when the reality is that comedy sits on a spectrum with a lot of things in between. It's kinda disappointing to hear him say that because I thought he was smarter.

I'm Tasmanian and I wasn't offended. But none of my loved ones died in either of the two incidents. Neither events were made fun of, though. It wasn't distasteful I didn't think. I'm pretty embarrassed that our news outlets are carrying on like pork chops about it.

When people complain about being cancelled you can bet that 99.999% of the time it's because they saw one post on twitter saying that they should be cancelled and then they use that to drive their mob of fans into a buying tickets to their show frenzy. The only people really trying to cancel comedians, actors, etc are themselves pretending that it's happening anywhere near as often as they claim it is.

My favourite Isaac Butterfield videos are the more serious ones. I'm not really a stand-up comedy fan, but I do appreciate what he does. I don't always agree with everything he says, what a boring world it would be if I did. I like how he mixes his quips with facts and I watch most of the videos he puts out. I love that he is unapologetically Aussie and that he clearly loves our beautiful country. I reckon he'd be the type of guy I'd be mates with. Sure, I'd occasionally tell him he was being a bit of a knob, like I do with all of my mates, but underneath all that, there'd be a genuine mateship. You mentioned the "N-Bomb" in the beginning of the video. I have suggested it a number of times in Discord and in your videos - Please, please, please react to "Prejudice" by Tim Minchin, who is an Australian comedian, singer, songwriter, musician. He has such an amazing way of bringing such subjects to the forefront. I suspect that you will really enjoy this video. He does other ones like "If I didn't have you (I'd probably be with someone else)" and "Come Home (George Pell)", but I think that latter one may not translate so well to international audiences (but from an Aussie point of view, I love it).

Have you thought about learning an Australian game/recipe/activity and reacting to that? I think cooking our recipes or doing something that Australia known for might be interesting. Even reacting to some of our (tv) movies in a live might be fun if you want something similar to what you do.

Isaac Butterfield is already in the USA. I'm not sure if he has been to Texas yet. I know he went to Florida and New York, and is currently in LA. I think he is planning on staying in the US for another week or so.

You seem part way between the Jolly channel (Josh + Ollie = Jolly) & H3. Because you will explore more serious topics, cultural things as well as your content & comedy. Jolly have a variety channel *and* a cultural channel so that's a choice too.

I find that dark humour or joking about these sort of things help heal, at least when you are not close to it. It's part of the fabric of who we are now. And jokes are part of weaving it in.

Ideas for Australian 30days and alternative videos - Cooking some Aussie classics- Like Anzac biscuits (it's Anzac Day on the 25th here), lamingtons, sausage sizzle, experimenting with Vegemite etc. *Going to one of the Australian cafes or coffee shops in Texas that you mentioned. *Hitting the streets and quizzing people about what they know about or think Australia. And maybe also about what they know about America! *A collaboration with other RU-vidrs that do Aussie content like Iwrocker (USA) from or Kinda Australian (expat US now in Sydney) or Rob Reacts (UK, visiting Oz this yr). Do an ultimate Aussie quizz off? And chat to each other about their channel, their general background and interest in Australia.🙂 **Trying an Aussie meat pie and sausage roll. If there's nowhere in Texas, order from the Australian pie places in GA or LA. They ship them frozen and can cook them in the oven. *Collaboration with an Aussie RU-vidr or even a subscriber who doesn't mind being on camera (not me😂). Both filming going to a McDonalds or KFC or Subway for example and comparing the differences and similarities. Or even the experience of going to a local cafe or coffee shop. Or comparing a suburban Aussie shopping centres with an American mall?. *Top 10 must do list for Australians visiting America. Similar to what Tristan did in reverse.

Comedian gets offended by people getting offended

He said nobody left the gig , suggesting it didn't actually offend anybody at the gig. Reckons it was a throwaway line he thought up on the spot about offending Tasmania. didnt actually look like it got many laughs either . Then he made a point of uploading to TIcToc just that bit. So it seems his primary goal was not to say something funny but to find some people who would be offended. Seems like his goal is to gain notoriety by being offensive and then getting 'cancelled' . Congratulations mate , you succeeded. Bit of a one trick pony really. Just boring and unfunny in my opinion. But I suppose if your favourite humour is just anything that offends other people you might disagree.

Well, I don't understand "The Commodity" name of the channel. I'm still right back at the beginning of everything and always think "I wonder what they mean, "Commodity?" what does that relate to, in whatever you are presenting? Might be having a blonde moment so disregard if you wish. I appreciate the quality of visuals and sound, and your honesty is refreshing, always amused at how sceptical you get at Aussies or their contributions (don't blame you!) and I've enjoyed how you presented your videos. Personally, I'm not a real fan of "reaction" youtubers. What I personally appreciate are your honest selves being your honest selves. It's refreshing. You hate that Aussie snack? fine. It's not going to make me jump off the bridge. I don't like all Oz snacks either. Some of them are weird. Just being yourselves is your best selling point, in my humble opinion. Rather than jumping right in changing everything, keep what is working and try out a new format on a test basis, maybe. If it's not broken, don't fix it.

I watch Issacs videos and live in Australia. His jokes vary in degree and I have on occasion had a negative feeling once or twice. If you get offended you laugh it off and move on. It’s a different story if he wasn’t a comedian. We live in a country where people can have different opinions. We don’t go into the middle of a street and start abusing someone with differing views. We say whatever mate, good for you and move on. Life’s easier if don’t focus on things that annoy or upset you.

Isaac is in America at the moment, I saw him on a podcast in NY the other day. Not sure if he is heading down south though. He actually mentioned that he had been shooting guns as much as he could while he was there.

There are funnier comedians in Australia. Also we have some really funny films and TV shows if you can find them to watch . Three examples that come to mind would be Rosehaven, Upper Middle Bogan and Kath and Kim. I would like to see your reaction. Keep up the good work guys. ☺️👍

To me it is like this. If you are not Roman Catholic and you don't agree with what they have to say, then don't go into their church. If you are any other religion and don't like whatever they may be saying, then don't go into their church! Same here, if you don't like a certain comedians style of comedy, then DON'T LISTEN, just turn him/her off! You are not being forced to watch Isaac's RU-vid channel or go to his shows, are you? If you think he is crossing the boundary and being unfair, then don't get him banned, or ban him as that is being unfair to Isaac. Live and let live and just care about what you are doing!

Ethnic Italian/Australian immigrant comedy that is foul mouthed enough that you'll have a good laugh at they're friends of my sister & they have exploded with huge production theatre shows all over the country in the last few years trust me they're amazing👌

I don't regard Isaac as an offensive comedian, he's a comedian. But no more or less offensive than most Aussie comedians. Being able to say your cancelled or banned is a financial windfall. It gives artists notoriety, which in turn brings a larger audience.

Phezz, I hope you read the comments from Tasmanians below. It wasn’t funny. I would have really respected Isaac if he admitted he had overstepped on this occasion. This tragedy happened just three months before his show. Families and communities are still deeply grieving.

I do agree that nothing is off limits when it comes to comedy. However one of the biggest factors in comedy is timing. And I think barely 3 months after 6 kids died, in a town nearby to where it happened was an example of bad timing. Real example of "too soon?"

From my point of view, you can make comedy from 99% of topics. But tragic events like Hillcrest, there needs to be a time sensitivity. It's still raw for families of the school and Devonport.

Yes you can make jokes about whatever you like. However freedom of speech doesn’t give you freedom of consequences of what you say. Netflix had every right to say, sorry we don’t want to air a special with Holocaust jokes in it. They’re just as free to express their opinions of that joke by not publishing it as you were free to make it. That’s not “being cancelled” that’s just their freedom to respond to what you had freely said.

Phezz, it seems like you're trying too hard. Ease up on the over-production & see how it goes. Also, reaction videos are great when it is engaging; it's like watching it with friends. I watch first-time movie reaction channels of movies I like, and enjoy the movie all over again. That last bit reminds me of "Shallow Hal", when he treated the kids 'normally', because he saw them as normal.

I don't agree with Isaac's take on everything... but I disagree with arbitrary censorship even more and I support his right to say what he wants even if it offends some people. This whole cancel culture bullshit has got to have a line drawn to it somewhere. It doesn't matter what someone else says that offends you... it only matters how you deal with it... and telling people that they can't say "offensive" things in a public space is the beginning of psychological fascism and an Orwellian creation of "thought crime".

I love Isaac but this was a joke in the wrong place at the wrong time. Imagine joking about Sandy Hook the day after in the place it happened. It quite isn't the same but where exactly is the line. Isaac said it was just something that fell out of him mouth at the time when he was on stage. Now he is just trying to defend it. I still like him but as an Australian he should have just said "I fucked up, sorry" and moved on but that would not give him an opportunity to make a monetised video about it. He is funny but we are not fools, his fake outrage is slightly palpable.

If he offends you that's ok, probably just means you're not Australian. Almost impossible to offend a true Aussie!
