Să faci cu prietenii tăi americani...O remarcă când arăți un cântec și cântăreți săi zici la prietenii tăi că în timp ce se schimbă scena țările și cântăreții țării respective sunt introduse de către comentatori și sunt niște lucruri unice zise despre ei, interesante. Ex tipul din 2012 a fost de etnie iraniană și era alungat din Iran, de aia a fost emoțional pt el să fie la Baku pentru că era pentru prima oară aproape de țara natală Iran, sau Loreen care a câștigat era de fapt din Maroc de origine sau bătrânele din Russia nu au cântat înainte de Eurovision ci biserica lor în sat a fost distrus de foc și din cauza aceasta au scris piesa au intrat în concurs cu gândul că dacă o să vadă pe ei rușii o vor ajuta la reconstrucția bisericii. Până la urmă Vladimir Putin a ordonat să fie reconstruit biserica lor, tocmai pentru că a făcut mândru Russia babușcele etc, sau in 2009 Andrew Loyd Weber a scris piesa și era pe scenă la pian și a readus Anglia în top, sau Patricia Kaas mega starul a repezentat Franța tot în 2009. Deci dacă faci un an cu ei, tu să te pregătești cu fiecare artist că sunt multe lucruri faine și ciudate. Aia nici tu nu știi bine, orice artist de orice etnie poate să reprezinte o țară sau poate să cânte danseze fără ca acest artist să fie original din țara respectivă. Ex 2016 Bulgaria a avut pe Cezar din Austria ca backing vocalist, sau să zici că ex Suedia cu The Mamas a avut un membru american. Sau interval act în 2016 a avut pe Justin Timberlake sau Madonna în 2019. Așa va fii și mai fun. PS I love ce faceți.

I agree - so many people react so snobby to Eurovision. These two seem entertained, even by the "weird performances." I like that they were genuinely watching and commenting without trying to make jokes.
Also the story with Albania is that there was a huge bus crash right before the semi final (I think they pulled the broadcast in Albania) it was a national emergency/day of mourning. This lady sang the song at a memorial for the people who died, so apparantly she was still super emotional when performing the final
I don't know if you know this but the reason that Rona the singer from Albania is so emotional at the end of her song is because there was a bus crash tragedy in Albania the day before the first semi final of Eurovision in which 13 people died mainly students and she was thinking about them when she was singing

@@saxx9088 Yes, he has co-written a lot of Eurovision songs, often together with Swedes, like for instance Bulgaria´s "If Love Was a Crime" (2016), "Bones" (2019), "Tears Getting Sober" (2020), Malta´s "Chameleon" (2019) and "All of My Love" (2020), and Germany´s "Violent Thing" (2020) to name a few.
@@Asa...S Yeah, and then people wonder why so many 'songs' sound like other songs. That's why. Well, it's one of the reasons. Did you know that over half of the pop songs 'by' Katie Perry, Madonna, Christina Aguilera etc etc are written by just two men ?? The other reason is that there are an accepted 3 or 4 formulaic song styles and most songs use the same four chords. Sometimes in different keys but usually the same chord progression. The age of experimentalism was the late 60's. We may never see the likes of it again.
Just a quick FYI: Singer and background singers can sing for literally any country they want. When Azerbaijan won, their backing singers were all Swedes, like the songwriters (and the background singers actually had an entry in Melfest as well), some backing singers sing for loads of countries at one point.
@@Mary1337 Two of the four background singers (Vera Prada, Jessica Marberger) were in "Shirley's Angels" that year in Melodifestivalen. Diggiloo dot net has infos on this, also they are mentioned on this entries wiki page.
And what? There is no rule such as only that country should compose the song or back vocals should be native. The singers Ell and Nikki were native it's enough. there are a lot of countries that buy songs from other countries' composers
Please know that its the government that decided to be out of the competition for those stupid reasons.Eveyone in Turkey misses eurovision so much and trying their best to influence this idea to government.We are trying guys :(

this was the year i started watching Eurovision. fun to rewatch it with you guys. cant wait for more. im sure you will but once you are at 2016, show the interval act. they would love love it.
Still can’t believe Anggun finished low. But I do agree with other blogs that it’s more of a staging/stage concept issue than anything else. Also Ukraine! So many great acts though. A very competitive year indeed.
On the Albanian entry, one of the reasons for Rona's emotions during the performance was that there had been a major bus crash the day prior to her semi, killing (I think) about twenty schoolchildren. Her semi performance was on a national day of mourning for the country due to the accident, and many were still feeling the emotional impact of the tragedy. If you listen to the semi performance of the song, it has even more emotion put into it.
Here in Brazil I've never heard Euphoria on the radio, and thats really sad. I've heard this song at the first time because of a random The Voice vídeo a long time. Since this, I've never stop listen It. Wonderfull song!!! And this performance, Loreen kill It! Thanks guys for this Full vídeo, love It!
I love that they get to watch the whole show and not just the clips! I even wish they would watch the semifinals too! It would be fun to have "American react to Eurovision Interval Acts" too. Mike and Lauren are great!

I like to watch Eurovision reactions. And I have watched tones of them. It just relaxes me somehow. And of all ones that I have watched Mike and Lauren are the best really. They are so polite, kind, but still very relaxed and interesting. That really share some positive vibe and energy. Two of them with you as a host are perfect trio for reactions full of fun and positive energy. And what I like about you is that you really know about songs and their background, cultures, ethno vibes, types of music etc. Really great host. Waiting to see more your videos. Great job!

Regarding Greece's performance, I think, the giant shell in the background depicts the mythological story of Aphrodite. In Greek Mythology, Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, was born from the sea-foams in a giant scallop shell and then carried to shores of Cyprus.
Do you know: that Angun is the best singer from Indonesia, but she has also french nationality. Azerbaijan had to build arena in one year for Eurovision because they had none. They spend 100 million euros. Bubushka sang in their ethnic Finnish language and not Russian. Loreen is originally from Marroco, and belongs to berber ethnic group.
my first Eurovision was from this year, 2012, because i want to see Anggun who represented France at time (she's born in Indonesia, my country) but ended up falling in love with Loreen. Euphoria is still my fav till now.
My favorites this year, besides the winner, was Kuula from Estonia and Zaleilah from Romania. So it was kinda fun to see you discover the first one and say you didn´t like the second one and then not be able to stop yourself from singing along and dancing anyway. I forgot how good this year was! And if you pay too much attention to the logic of the lyrics, a lot of songs will be very strange in Eurovision, it´s part of the charm..
Small note about the end performance: That wasn't Loreen missing cues, it's her usual singing style (she always does a lot of ad-libbing/improv including beat delays, harmonization etc.) and it's how she always sings. I actually think she really had to restrain herself from doing any of that during the competition haha, but after winning she didn't have to think about that anymore and so the ad-libbing quickly returned. (she doesn't always do it as frequently in just one performance though, it's often more subtle and evenly placed, but I do remember chuckling when I saw her performance after she'd won because it was like she had had to reign it in for so long during the competition and so afterwards it all just came out at once, haha)
Yeah but at least one (or two, I'm not entirely sure) of the people present on the stage has to be a citizen of the country represented (back vocalists included because they are counted as well)
@@jojoelio5537 You are both incorrect. There is no Eurovision rule that prevents a certain country to send an entirely foreign crew. It's solely up to the national broadcasters themselves to decide whether they allow it or not
I'm Greek and I don't know what "You make me want your Aphrodisiac" even supposed to mean. It's like they thought of the title of the song first, and then the actual lyrics. But eventually it turned out like nonsense.

Usually with the Greek songs (despite being catchy), the lyrics dont make any sense. E.g. 2017 and 2020. I still will never get over Demy’s line “this is love, rain falls from the sky”
Aphrodite = Venus in Greek, that's why there's a pearl oyster in the background; and oyster is an aphrodisiac. (Edited) And I think Turkey's lyrics are quite naughty - "harbour to my ship and I will make you fly", I like the naughty stuff LOL. ;)
Also the "look what I can do" at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="3424">57:04</a> was in reference to a popular skit with a character by the name of Stuart, done on an american TV show called Mad TV it was basically a competitor to SNL in the early 2000s.

I may have said this before, but if or when you’ll be reacting to 2013 my recommendation for one of the songs is Greece with Alcohol is free, it’s a good song and i think it’ll get a good laugh
Lol I hated that song with all my guts I wanted us to sent Pyrivolakis one that year. But alas it was the last good place we got. Also not many understood this song may seemed fun but it was highly political. But not many could understand the lyrics and they were a bit poetic written. But alas I got used to it.
@@ZiaHere. Music wise it isn't and the singers didn't have a good voice. Lyric wise was very good but difficult to understand. And it may seem funny to you foreigners but it was nothing but. It was and still remains a thinly veiled political song about our situation at the time. Not that it has changed since then.
Yall were actually correct for United Kingdom, the singer (Engelbert Humperdinck) is a very famous singer in the United Kingdom and was even more famous in the 60's and early 70's.

Still really surprised as to how inspired Norway seem to have been by Sweden the previous year (Eric Saade) Really proud of Loreen's performance, Also, still really like Estonia's, Serbia's and Germany's entries. One of the best German entries of all time in my opinion

We were so succesfull before we leave. Last ten years We won one time at 2003,In 2010 we have 2.,2004 2007 2009 we finished at 4.th Place 2008 and 2012 we finished at 7..Thats why you know that the biggest problem is not the politic voting.this is only an excuse. the problem is the sexualism and LGBTQI for our president and his small brain. alexandrumic Noo ,Actually we have a lot of Turkish Eurovision fan.Maybe we are one of the most carring European country of this show. This competation was so important for our people. Every year we were looking forward to watch ESC. we always send best singers in our Country for win.(Sertab,Hadise,Manga,Kenan,Athena etc.) But one day President decide to change everyting.Cuz they say that we can't publish this compatiton anymore because of Sexual things. But Turkish people really love to watch ESC. A lot of people still trying to turn back..Sending mails to President for come back to ESC.it is not working yet. But i believe that he left from president we will come back. ☺️

I mean as a Greek Cypriot I hate Erdogan as much as anyone but he was Prime minister during the previous decade that you guys participated and won. Also, it "didn't work out" for Blue, yet in 2011, they made 11th place for the UK, which the UK only topped with Jade in 2009 (#5) and Jessica Garlick in 2002 (#3). I consider Blue getting 11th place a pretty successful year for the UK, especially since, while some have approached them, no one has passed their level of success.

I liked the video a lot! I love watching people react to Eurovision, especially when they're not European, but the videos online are always so short. I liked that with this video we got to see their reactions through the entire show, and their rankings too. And they seem really nice and not trying-to-be-funny; these seem like genuine reactions. It's only the main artist that need to come from the competing country. Like in 2011, all the backup singers and the songwriters for Azerbaijan were swedish. I remember when they spoke in the news that Sweden kinda won that year since everything were swedish but the artist.
The main artist doesn´t have to come from the competing country. There has been a ton of artists that has represented other countries than their own. Just to name a few, France Gall from France have represented Luxembourg. Last year Victor Crone from Sweden competed, as the main artist for Estonia, for instance. And Serhat from Turkey competed for San Marino. Celine Dion, from Canada, won for Switzerland. Nana Mouskouri from Greece has represented Luxembourg. Gina G from Australia has represented UK.
@@Asa...S Isnt it dual citizenship? After that celine Dion won heck of a time ago they put in some type of restriction so counties couldn't just bring whom ever they wanted.
@@TheRampus There is nothing in the rules of Eurovision about restriction on who the countries can bring The countries can bring anyone they want, no matter their citizenship. I just checked the official rules. The only rules about the artists is that 1. They have to be over 16 on the day of the Grand Final. 2. Not more than 6 people. 3. No artist may compete for more than one country in the ESC in a given year. That´s it. Nothing about citizenship or dual citizenship. It´s not the Olympics.
Turkey isn't the only one who left the contest. And Eurovision mostly means everything, except the music quality. In addition to that, in 2011 turkey sent another group whose name is yüksek sadakat and it didn't reach the final. If you listen to the song you'll get it what I'm saying. Song's name live it up.
