It's not really a shortage anymore. Just a major price hike that never came back down. I still have a hard time justifying $250-300 for 1k 9, when it used to cost me $160 pre covid. 556 is almost twice what it was prior to covid as well...

@@ToolsandTargets not gonna lie man, when it comes to 9mm rounds (whether Target or Self-Defense cartridges), I typically buy them from Outdoor Limited's website, as they offer Free Shipping when ordering $200+ worth of ammo, and there's no gun shops near where I live (closest one near me is a good bus and subway ride, taking about close to an hour)

I’m jealous every time you show me the local shops variety selection and prices. The closest thing I got to that is a store that used to be awesome but now days they are super expensive on everything and are in the process of pricing themselves out of business. There’s another one that’s just barely better but they will cut you a deal on the tools but the ammo prices aren’t too great. I pretty much buy most of my stuff at academy these days. I really enjoy the ammo shop videos!!! Have a great weekend everyone!!!

@ToolsandTargets I might be wrong but from what I remember the 77grain 556 is ment for either a longer or shorter barrel , the 66grain is optimized for 16inch and if I'm not wrong the 55grain was for the 20inch barrel or maybe it was the twist rate of the barrel I can't exactly remember at the moment but it was something along those lines

Yup.I’ve seen full almost full stock at so many places. Honestly in the last 6 months Ive found everything I’ve looked for. 454casul even 327 federal magnum! This is the time to get whatever you might need.Thanks for another ammo show!!👍

@@ToolsandTargets it's funny that you mentioned the Hornady Lever-Evolution in .357 Magnum, as my ammo purchase was just delivered about maybe an hour ago, and a box of this stuff was one of the rounds purchased (had also purchased a Bulk 12-gauge amount worth $88 for 250-shells, which was a pretty good deal in my opinion)

That Egyptian ammo can have hard primers. I have heard striker fired handguns can have trouble firing them. Had a 9mm Tokarev, no issues. Treat as corrosive.

All I know is that the prices have went way down since the covid days. I found an old invoice from some 9mm I purchased in 2001. Paid $100 for 200 rounds. Now a days, I'm paying around $100 for 500 rounds. The problem isn't finding the ammo, it's not having enough time to shoot it all.

A 16" 9mm triple test of the 2 soft points and the grizzly +p+ at normal range, I no you have said that no1 uses a 16"pcp at close range but I'm sure that cannot be the case lol, Also it would be good information to see what is the best 9mm ammo to use in a 16" pcp at close range.

Interested in seeing what that S&B 77 gr OTM does. I prefer soft points out of my AR’s but honestly anything will get the job done when it comes to 223/556. As long as it holds zero and goes bang every time. I wish my LGS carried that much underwood. Nice score Tools!!!

Last year me and my friends would go in and pool our funds to buy cases of ammo, 9mm, or especially 5.56/.223. I have an Academy credit card and have used that to buy ammo and take advantage of deals. I haven't bought much ammo in the last few months just because I'm sitting on a lot and haven't had a chance to go to the range due to work. I think the best thing people can do right now is find a good deal online or locally and just pool their funds and buy a case of ammo and divvy it up based on how much each person wants. You can get the benefit of the case discount but not have to pay for a whole case individually. That might be a good strategy to do if you know people willing to do it.

I'm sure you will but I'd check that Egyptian ammo real good just to make sure it's the 9mm you expect it to be. I did noticed Midway has the 50 round 9mm 115 grain fmj Winchester for $6.49 A box. I hadn't seen them prices since the 90's lol. There is a limit of three though. I load my own so I didn't order any. Good deal for anyone locally though.

While I can't comment on your specific batch, most of the Egyptian 9mm I've run into before had very hard primers, were not very reliable, and were HIGHLY corrosive. It is neat to have as an oddity but I wouldn't shoot much of it unless you had to.

You need to look into that 45 Colt maximum expansion solid copper expander you can run it in a 410 like a judge that's the same length as a 410 Shelf I think the bullets like 220 grains I'm moving a thousand feet a second massive expander

That Grizzly 9mm Luger will be interesting. If that is really 520 ft-lb then the pressure is waaaaaay outside spec, nothing you should make a regular diet if you like your little 9mm gun 😁

There is such thing as 9x19 that is loaded strictly for SMG’s. Be careful using that surplus ammo in any handgun; perhaps save it for a carbine.
