The clean singer Biff Byford, is over 70 years old and still sounds amazing! They have a similar song from the album Jomsviking called "A Dream That Cannot Be" that features Doro.
oh man...being an original metal head from the 80's, who is STILL a metal head, this made my day/year!! Saxon is a seminal band in the NWOBHM for sure....and how completely fitting that Amon Amarth shows respect for what Saxon did for metal with this collab!!! This could not have been more perfect!! My jaw dropped and mind exploded when the singer from Saxon showed up when I first heard this song and was very happy to see him brought in for the video.
Man, you just made me feel old by not knowing who Saxon is. :) Whatever the case, this was probably my favorite song off AA's latest album. Such a cool pairing, especially with the theme.
Saxon is by far one the best bands from new wave of British heavy metal. They've made some killer albums in the 90s and 2000s. There is on RU-vid their latest gig from the wacken 2022, I highly recommend it!
How the holy hell can you be an internet savvy metalhead who is not a child and never have heard of Saxon? You know of NWOBHM? Well Saxon would be like one of the top 5 biggest bands to come from that era behind Maiden, Def Leppard, Motörhead, and maybe Venom. And still going strong!
Excelent reaction..Great Heathen Army is excelent album and with Bif in this song is just when Saxon invited Johan in duet on Thunderbolt album from Saxon..and excelent video..but Johan...is still dominate in song..his brutal voice..excelent..damn excelent.
it's a good album. Love the vids for it, they are all fun. And yes Saxons is a band, they are old school and super bad ass. You should check out their newest album Hell, Fire And Damnation. It slaps
