Hughes & Kettner Black Spirit 200 head is an analog amp but it's not a tube amp. It's super compact but offers incredible amount of useful features.
In this demo / review I'll take you through the sounds and the features and at the end of the video I'll give you an honest opinion of the amp.

This was a very good, comprehensive review/demo. Unlike so many others that tout this as the "next best things" this review in honest and shows off the good and the bad and I think, with the good coming out on top. Great job.

i received my Black Spirit 200 Head & 432 Foot Switch 2 Days ago still finding my way round it but i Love it, and the First thing that i did was to fill in the round marker holes on the knobs with some of my Wife's White Nail Varnish then cleaned off any exes with some isopropyl alcohol and it looks like it came from the Factory like that and what a difference it has made now i can see what i am setting

This amp is amazing. Most people wouldn’t even believe it is not a tube amp. My only gripe is the harsh high end, but that’s tamable with the eq and tone control.

I wasn't super excited initially but after playing it for a while and especially after getting to my studio I've grown to love it. It sounds really good, it's super practical and obviously it also looks great in videos ;)

Have the Blackstar version and can get any sound out that amp too....

I'm not really that familiar with Blackstar products, what amp are you referring to?

@@CatPickStudios Well have two. The IDcore :HD150 "stereo" have to hear to believe. And the silverline 100 head. Don't use anything but the clean channels but feed a great analog pedal in and there you go. They take a bit to adjust which were not for a lot of people that had zero patience. They have a lot of adjustments. Once you calm down they are really high resolution amps. The effects are higher quality/resolution than most other amps. This HK is a winner but just a little on the high side and some have complained of noise.

How well does it take pedals? I currently have a distortion, wah, noise gate, flanget/chorus hybrid and booster, and somehow, my top(an orange Jim Root terror) won't take my pedals too well, especially the boost is underwhelming. Would this be a good substitute? Or do you have any other tips on what to get that would work wirh my rig that is somewhat within the same price range?

I think this amps is really good with pedals, I had no issues with it. My podcast co-host has used his Black Spirit as the pedal demo platform for couple of years now and getting great results. If you are mostly pedal guy I'd say one option could be the REVV D20. I've had both (BS and D20) and I personally preferred the latter, but the REVV is also a bit more expensive. You might find one on a great deal used.

can you use 1 footswitch to control 2 amps?

Yes. From the MIDI controller you go to BS200's MIDI In, then from the MIDI Out/Thru you go to the second amp.

It's that expensive in US? Wow. Guess that also explains why Friedman etc. are a true boutique brand here in Finland. Gotta love those import taxes.

I would never spend that kind of money on a digital amp. Maybe 75.00 for a Line 6 spider 15- watt practice amp. I want 2-3 all tube channels of quality. I am seriously looking at Friedman.My brother is a friend of Steve Stevens. used to work for a concert promoter in the 80s. I used to know him from his Billy Idol days. I believe he gives his royalties from products that bear his name to musicans in recovery. I know I am one. I do not need anything more thAN 50 Watts.
