As an output source I'm using a roland micro cube gx and all I get is hissing and constant humming. I've used noise gates, placed it around different areas of the house changed leads, even when head phones are plugged in. I'm using a Slash epiphone Les paul special II. Any help would be most appreciated as I've had pedal for months and still can't make head or tail of the issue.

Hi, I use the device with an iPhone 7 plus (IOS 13.3) and BIAS FX software. I have problems connecting. I plug the Lightning connector into the iPhone and sometimes it works sometimes doesn't. What can that be? ... btw. non of the jacks of the IRIG Stomp device are shaky ... hm ...

Amplitube 5 Max it is a big program, do we have to load this to the tablet ? witch our presets and we can go and gig with only this two things ?

I'm hoping that Amplitube might be what I need for a lounge amp setup. I probably won't go for the stomp though. There appear to be several wobbly bits.

Thanks brad. I think there can’t be an iPad app for helix because it would require drivers which Apple won’t allow. I could be wrong about that so would be great if someone would correct me

As an owner of AT5 Max have been plowing through budget multi-effect pedals instead of the iRig Stomp IO because: 1. They are cheaper and get me where I want to go; a budget travel friendly way of accessing multi-effects in a small live setting. 2. Because there seems to be a large segment of users who have a difficult time syncing the Stomp IO. Syncing an IK Multimedia piece of hardware to a IK Multimedia product should not be an issue! I bought the Soft Step pedal board before the Stomp IO came out and gave up on it. Between the support staff of each it just wasn't worth the hassle!

Absolutely correct about it’s use as a live rig, but not just because of the danger of stepping on your iPad. It’s VERY flaky and un dependable. The unit often decides for itself when it will connect to the iPad. It’s unfortunate, because the thing sounds great. The ability to program different effects and amp controls with expression pedals is genius. For example, I would set an expression pedal to control the volume of the OCD pedal to sweep in distortion, control depth of delays, speed of chorusing, tremolo. So cool. Then you show up to play and have to basically hard restart it multiple times, hope it finally starts, and it will still have a high probability of flaking. I can still use it as an I/o for a daw, but it exhibits intermittent hissing on the monitors. Final word: JUST DON’T!!

I would probably only use this for recording and maybe not even that simply because any guitar software/amplitude always had a split second delay which is not good for live performances or recording. The tracking,response and the Attack plays a key part in captured moments, moments that can’t be taken back. Don’t get me wrong the sounds are amazing,,but still needs improvement

Single input, so unfortunately no luck there. But when it comes to just your guitar or vocals, even on my very old iPad you can run multiple apps for different effects!

You should also check out iRig BlueBoard, I use that with AmpliTube as my Live Setup now and that is working really well. Ok it gives me limited controls as you can pick to have it switch between amp sets or you can get it to switch individual controls (such as turn on a pedal) but with only 4 buttons you are again restricted. My setup works Guitar -> iRig HD2 (into iPad) -> Amp, the blueboard is Bluetooth so that works well. There is also a power adapter to keep your iPad charged while using it but this is again another piece of kit to buy. Great video above though, loved seeing an honest view.

I didn’t get as much out of this as others. I feel like, while there is something to be said from pulling something out of a box and getting a first impression, I would rather someone actually use it for a while and really see what it’s capable of. I see there’s a way to get the tuner to be full screen. I’d like to see someone try to gig it. I’d like to see someone write and record a song with it, then I’d like to hear if it’s good or not. I’m looking into this blue board now. Thanks.

Ok GuitarGeek I have had this I/O stomp for a year and after a week or so of trying to get it to sync up w/ my amplitube on my laptop, I am still unsuccessful. I quit using the stomp and went back to just using my mouse pad on my laptop to control amplitube. What am I doing wrong? I have contacted IKmultimedia a few times and they're not telling me anything at all. I feel like they act like well you already bought it so no need to try to please you, we already got your money. I really want this to work, cause I love all my amplitube patches that I have created, I'd just love to be able to switch between clean and different patches w/ my foot rather stop playing and mouse to a different patch/setting.

Hey Ryan! Sorry to hear you are having trouble. I would love to help but it’s impossible to diagnose a problem without knowing a LOT of info about your setup. If IK don’t respond, I’d recommend making a video of the issues you have and posting the video in a Facebook stomp user group if one exists... good luck!

Does anyone know if you can get a male to female extension so I can put the Ipad on a desk and slip the pedal board under desk. I know you can get the ik media cable extension but don't fancy paying 40 quid for one. Any help would be awesome.

Pro: Works fine with the Amplitube software on PC as well Con: Only works with Amplitube Software - I tried a few things but couldn't get my PC to recognise any Midi Commands from the Buttons. The version of amplitube you get - at least on PC - is mostly telling all the stuff that is not licensed. But to make up for that, once you register you are bombarded to buy more software licenses from IK Multimedia with at least half a dozen emails per night, and at prices you could easily get good software like a Neural DSP Archetype ...

TheGuitarGeek luckily I don’t have wrist problems, but I have had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands in the past. Wasn’t fun but at least it fixed the main problem even if it did have some side effects.

TheGuitarGeek it has an effect on my third and fourth fingers. For a while I could not touch my thumb to my pinky. I can now but it’s not nearly as easy as it was prior. Holding up three fingers like the scout sign is difficult as well. Somehow severing the tendon that runs across the bottom of your palm did all that. I also had scar tissue on the carpal nerve which was removed so perhaps that’s where the side effect came from. I’m not sure, it wasn’t something I was warned of going in so perhaps it’s unique to me. It had no negative impact on my drumming, quite the opposite, and it’s clear I’ll never be a shredder on guitar, but I can’t really blame that entirely on the surgery.

I got one of these and it wasn't worth the money. Took me over a month of trial and error and back and forth to see why it wasn't working with my iPad pro 2018. Had to buy a second cable from IK (for £30) on their request which also didn't work, then had to get another cable which did work and then the next day two of the buttons stopped working as it is shoddily made.

Amplitube sounded like a great product, but the Blueboard was useless and completely put me off the product line. Instructions were either incomplete or incorrect.

Sorry to hear of your issues getting started with the iRig BlueBoard. This products integrates directly with AmpliTube for iOS as well as the iRig BlueBoard app for macOS. If you haven't contacted our team, please do so at the link below. We will be more than happy to find you a solution that gets you back to making music with AmpliTube. www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support/ In the meantime, I can suggest trying to connect your iRig BlueBoard in the Menu -> Settings -> External Control Settings page inside of AmpliTube iOS. Make sure to power on your iRig BlueBoard holding the "A" pad to connect to AmpliTube (or the macOS BlueBoard app). Once connected, your device will operate similarly to iRig Stomp I/O. The iRig BlueBoard section of the External Controls Settings will include the option to switch between some different settings, like Preset mode (Program Change mode) or Direct FX mode.
