Jorge Silva thanks for your questions! -Yes It is worth it! It is not digital, so It is not so affected by how powerful a cpu is or how much RAM memory It has. It is a solid state design that It simply sounds good, no matter the year. -I wouldn’t say that having this preamp is the same as having a Fender amp. It will give you a clean chimey flavor that will do the job, but if your seek a truly faithful emulation of a vintage Fender with all kinds of nuances...that will take something more complex.

Eran Dahan yes, It would be a good use for this pedal.

I would say that fx loop is True Bypass when disengaged. Anyway, I've used it during a long time and I can say I noticed no change in the pedals I put in the loop. It is a great unit.

Thanks Micky! I want to put a valve pre amp in the external loop, and change into clean an dirty with the F1, but i have a doubt if the F1 will be change the tone of my valve pre amp. What you think about? Thanks again!

I think you will be successful. I have been using this pedal for years because I traveled a lot and I needed a consistant sound, no matter which amp I rented. So I ended up using floor preamps, but digital pedals di not satisfy my needs, that is how I grew an interest on AMT. And It sounds superb both though a valve poweramp and through the house. Nos so good through transistor amps, but that happens with Boss pedals too and almost any other device. It never altered any sound I put in the F1's loop. I used to place an AMT E2, B2 or C2 (depending on which style I had to play). And It always soud pure and consistant, exactly as I remembered It had to be. So I can recommmend this one definitely.

Javier Aldan Okay, SS20's clean channel is better in general (more bright and a little more dynamic), but I would say it is just 10% better. F1 is impressively good. But there are some things one should consider: SS20 clean channel takes pedals and distortions much better than F1, maybe because it has tubes. So if you are planning to use it as a clean channel, you might be more satisfied with SS20. On the other hand, SS20 can not be switched remotely, and that makes it more difficult to coordinate with your other pieces of gear. F1 is a single pedal and you can place ina separate loop, and treat it like a separate channel/preamo (very useful!). They both are good for the purpose they were made for. If sound is your priority, then AMT ss20. F1 is more for live use and combine with other pedals.

Brutal Gain Thanks it is good to know. About remote switching, the SS-20 has a small output that AMT claims it can be used with their FS2 (I think that is the model) which enables it into a simple Midi controller so whenver you switch clean/crunch/lead then it can send midi commands to a switching unit so in theory it can be done. It cannot however controlled remotely.

Javier Aldan Javier, you should check that in AMT website. I have FS2 too and AMT ss20 and they can not work together. AMT SS20 does not have that output. AMT SS30 does and BC1 too (my bandmates have those pedals and I can assure they have it, but AMT ss20 and AMT ss1 does not).

My Ss-20 dos have it and the updated online manual includes thar output too. I also doble checked with AMT support and they confirmed it is forma that. Maybe it is too new enhancement.

Yes, Effects loop is always active for both channels. Many people ask that question, because they want to have effects in clean channel (chorus for example), and a dry sound in distortion channel. But I am afraid that is not possible. Maybe If AMT did a new version of F1 that could be a nice suggestion.

It is actually a delay+booster that I ordered for myself with my specifications. I use it very often, whenever I want to play a solo, It helps me to sound louder. The delay adds that extra vibe to make it more epic!

It is actually a delay booster. It is a custom pedal I ordered for me, since I use those two effects at once very often, so I decided to have them both in one box, being able to turn them on together with just one button.
