Amway Arena Implosion 

I'll miss Amway Arena.... Good memories. Even though the 15,000 seat arena only had 2 bathrooms. It was chaos during half time at Magic games!

Amway Arena is a site of the 1990 WWE Royal Rumble where Hulk Hogan won the Royal Rumble match back then

That is so dumb man, why implode it? It could have been useful. Like the Orlando solar bears home stadium, so that they don't have to share with the Orlando Magic's stadium.

The Amway Arena is the old Orlando Magic venue. The new one is the Amway Center, its located a couple of blocks away.

Internally, it was pretty outdated. Among other things, it had no club seating, which is a must these days.

That arena put the Magic behind the 8-ball soon after it was built since it was economically obsolete from day 1.

QUESTION: Why did they do that? ANSWER: They built a upgraded and much bigger Amway "Center" right next to it, which is now the home of the Orlando Magic and host to many awesome events like the SYTYCD tour and the Cirque Du Soleil Michael Jackson special. The arena was old and unecessary with the new center that all the events are held at now. The arena being demolished will allow the construction (new jobs) of a creative village that will now be placed in that spot^_^.

Speaking of Shaq.. Those were probably his 4 Xbox 360s on the corners of the Amway Arena. Maybe his TV is located in Cowboys Stadium, Arlington?

Guys... This is the old amway arena. A new one was built so they leveled this building to make room for something else.

Actually another has already been built is now called the Amway Center. It's been completed for a while now. The arena got destroyed to make way for a creative village that they will be building on that site.

They now play at the new Amway Center a few blocks away.

Finally we can see Amway and all of there new hidden business names go away since 1980!

Almost as soon as it was finished, it became obsolete. The same situation existed with the Miami Arena.

I don't mean to intrude, but if you find the proper tape, The owner ( or of sort) "said pull it" (a major demolition term) which caused the building to fall without substantial structural damage

I'm glad the SkAmway Arena got imploded. Hopefully that company will do the same.

yeah the same basic thing happened to the towers. the support beams were melted by the fire and eventually it came crashing down into itself

OMG! WTC 7 didn't not fall b/c of a controlled demolition. The impact of the plane alone took out nearly 1/4 of the structures support making the adjacent pillars support more weight. Then the 477 BILLION Joules of energy which came from the burning of jet fuel, caused the steel floor beams and girders to thermally expand. This caused the buckling of key structural columns leading to a progressive collapse. A skyscraper is filled with 90% air, there was nothing to stop the floor from falling.

It did look fine from the outside, but the inside felt like it's 50+years behind.

That was definitely a pan-caking effect-- not a demolition. The roof caved in causing the next floor to cave in and then the next floor. Just like the govt described-- a pancake effect.
