since sheldon cannot handle lets say cliffhangers, amy decides to help get over his cliffhanger closure issue. from season six episode 21 The Closure Alternative no copyright intended, entertainment reasons only
but it an issue imposed on us by society. it starts with our parents when they force us to eat up, to clean the plate, to finish our chores to get the reward.
@@Juidodin Which is actually a good thing. What are your parents supposed to do, force you to be an underachiever and reward you for misbehaving? I would say you had decent parents
+darthstarkiller1912 I screamed when he said that. For the longest I wouldn't watch this show because I didn't like Sheldon but I love him. He is the funniest.
anyone else felt uncomfortable while amy was conducting her tests with sheldon? guess I do have a bit of a problem with how I deal with closure as well.
Sheldon: You don't know what it's like to feel completely frustrated. To have a-a desire build up within you and be denied any opportunity for release. Amy: ... Yeah. Sounds like a drag.
This is absolutely hilarious and I feel Sheldon's pain because I wanted them to finish all of those activities as badly as he did but, that being said, I think it was totally adorable that Sheldon went along with this exercise just for Amy. It's just another way that Sheldon shows that he cares for her in his own special way.
This is legitimately a technique therapists use to treat OCD and other anxiety causing rituals. It's called Exposure Response Prevention Therapy or ERPT (basically do the thing that makes you feel bad and after a while you won't feel as bad and next time will be easier - repeat until cured - sounds simpler than it is in practice). Problem with Amy's logic is IT DOES NOT WORK VERY WELL IF IT IS FORCED! Sheldon has to choose to do it or the therapy just causes stress and he'll end up redoing the things anyway
Agreed. Kind of like getting someone over their fear of the water by just throwing them into the pool. 90% of the time, it has the exact opposite effect. Then again, the actual method probably wouldn't be as funny.
I think we all secretly want closure. We want every 7th to be followed by the octave, we all check our notifications so that red notification light goes off, we secretly want to turn off a power point that has been foolishly left on... I don't see how you can forget there is a red light on it... *gasp*.. I digress, everytime you are shown red, green, blue, and orange, you immediately want to see yellow and purple. I can relate Sheldon, closure is good.
In real world, emotionally speaking, you don't get a closure, sometimes, the 8th note is not just necessary. A closure ends it. There is no hope left. I hate closures.
The other Sheldon/amy scenes mentioned are good, as is this one, but probably not as good as: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h-4XCZ-qQs0.html
I personally like it when Sheldon goes behind Amy’s back and recreates those things that they never really finished and I also love 💕 it when Sheldon blows out the candles and wishes for Amy to die
Honeybee Now now and please don’t swear ok. Because that’s not the actual real you that I know even though I don’t really know you that well, but still please don’t swear ok 👌
stellvia hoenheim Yes she is autistic, but do you know exactly what fucked up actually means? I do know what that means, but I’m just actually testing you to know if you know what that means too.
"You're a brilliant Neuroscientist, an Excellent girlfriend and..." "And?" "Doesn’t Matter, Does It?" Later- "And a complete Sucker!" My thoughts exactly when somebody asks me about JL Sneider-Cut!
@@amyartlover up until he met Amy he might as well been classified as asexual. I mean, his intentions for reproduction were by means of cloning, not once having the thought of sex cross his mind. However his asexuality is more akin to a child's asexuality as in he was just not mentally mature enough to understand the concept but we do see him visibly fluster when he accidentally grabbed Penny's boob. So in conclusion, he was like a straight five year old.
Want to torture someone with OCD/closure issues? Type the longest possible run-on sentence you can, make it barely coherent, never quite get to a point and then after a LONG LONG read, stop. I've seen it on the internet. It is evil.
HAL 9000 do you mean we can manipulate the reader and they want closure for all the stuff they felt and be frustrating when in fact it’s a experiment to make a highlight of our ability to feel the feelings of not being able to control the person’s thoughts and tell the people how you would wish the point of there thoughts were more better....
This show is making me laugh and happy after the work full of stress and all the uncertainties right now. Im on season 11 now! I won't mind rewatching it in the future 😊😊
Technically he has not closed any of Amy´s ORIGINAL tasks, he has just recreated them. Successful closure would be putting one zero on the "tic tac toe" whiteboard, blowing out the one and remaining candle on the cake, and singing only the word "brave" in the national anthem.
But the act of drawing the circle, and blowing out the single candle don't have the same effect as completing the entire task, they're just _smaller tasks_ . It's similar to counting to 10 and being stopped at 8. You COULD say "9, 10." later, but it would have basically the same effect on you as counting to 2, because it doesn't have the build up you feel as you get to higher numbers. It's the act of fully completing the tasks without any interruptions, in the way they WOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETED, that heightens the feeling of nikhedonia that he feels in carrying out, which leads to a massive shot of dopamine at the end.
Recreated Them and Gave Them Closure... he Recreated Them to Give Them his Own Closure. Like a parent who plugged off your videogame in a moment that was near a closure, it's true, it may - emphazis on May - never be thecnically the same - not the same stats, not the same emotions, not the same Zone bla bla bla -, But the simple fact still exists of simply you turning it on again so you get back to that moment and you get our own closure to make you feel happy, recreating the moment. Sorry if i came out cold rude but i kinda hate when people try to debate things that are easy to catch on or see, just to start a debate, to ruin easy concepts, or to make them look smart though
Sometimes I feel like it was meant to be that Amy should be a neurobiologist (or maybe psychologist...?).. someone who can delve into Sheldon's weird little mind..
@@alski200 Given that he has normal nerdy firends relationships, Sheldon does not have autism, lol dont even go there - i could bet you loved to jump to the autism word just cause he is Sheldon -. Autism is kinda not something funny to easy breeze use it just cause someone is kinda weird though
Then you don't know what autism is. I know because I work with autistic children everyday and are taught the signs to recognize them plus Jim Parsons in real life has Asperger syndrome. Know what you're talking about before you comment.
In the end Sheldon lying there like he had a big one... at the same moment Penny said I love u.. and Sheldon's reply was like he did it with Penny....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have OCD, so when she didn't let him finish the stuff he was doing my heart almost stopped beating (overreacted, but who cares), that really makes me feel nauseous and my heart started to beat faster, my air went away... that's my life
Lol Sheldon thinks he's smart but he didn't know Amy was just sensitizing Sheldon to love and feelings of arousal so she could finally get laid xD, by denying him clososure she died him the right to feel the good feelings when he completes something then knew that he would then go behind her back and complete it all and being denied that closure it makes them more sensitive to it with an almost orgasmic effect. She was just opening him up to feelings he knew he never had and you can't close that door afterwards, including when she instructed him on where to masage his back xD. Do you think Amy back-tracked upstairs then listened to the whole thing with Penny? and that she was at Penny's apartment after? LOL, i bet she was and that's why Penny was like "I love you in my life" to see if Sheldon would say it back and he did.
In this episode, Penny is realizing that the girls and the guys all have some field which they are extremely passionate about. Penny, however, is thinking about what she is passionate about that she actually has since her acting career is not really going anywhere. So then after a few talks with the girls and Leonard, she realized that she is really passionate and glad to have all these people in her life. Therefore, she went to Sheldon to tell him that she loves having him/them in her life.
