It’s a very methodical trade to be in …most people say oh he’s only bricklayer but there’s a stack load to it! Getting everything to line up & work is quite methodical! This guy is a professional …seen some disasters but this guy is a pro nice to see
Nice to see “young” people with a real interest in construction and laying bricks, laying them the right way, how they should be laid. Once Amy perfects her mortar spreading technique she’ll be flying along the line 👍
Makes u laugh the time it takes the agent in to take a picture and write an email they could clear up the bricks our blokes this is a weekly argument on site these days
@@danielhutchinson1102 It's not their job to clean up, they are there to chase folk to maintain a certain standard. You'll maybe find when they start and are keen to get on they'll try to stay friendly with everyone so they'll take the picture, sort it out but still send their E-Mail as thats their job and their manager will be riding them regardless. However they'll quickly learn people will take the piss and couldn't care less so it's not worth your time or hassle to try and stay freindly with folk. People generally don't start out as a jobsworth pain in the arse but even reasonable folk will quickly turn into one or find another job.
old boy here, love watching your top level skills, would have loved working with you Charlie. have to settle for doing some brickwork in my back garden.
You’re a great teacher, it’s not easy trying to get concepts across and it can take a few goes before it becomes easy for the learners. All this and trying to earn some dosh! Keep up the good work. I’m not a bricking but I have learned ,pads from this video.
After a while of teaching anything you appreciate the folk who'll actually ask more than once if they don't know, can't remember or just want some reassurance, i've fuck all patience for the people who don't ask or bullshit and bluster before fucking it up and you end up spending more time fixing the problem and telling them again.
Seem to have yourself a decent squad now, Charlie. They all seem to genuinely listen when you are explaining, that's all you can ask. It'll be interesting to see how much things move on by summer time if everyone keeps it up.
Here in Belgium we put a vaper barier also on the structural walls. What i mean with that is you guys put a bit of plastic at the black breathing boxes but we do that all around the house. Just wanted to give a little fact for the day
Once saw a forklift pull a full tub off the first lift which exploded onto the floor, practically rendering the brickwork below. Was hilarious until we realised it had rendered our cars next to the plot as well! 🙈😂
Amy your perp action is looking brilliant,I'm not a bricky but it's looking just like Charlie's so I must be good.More Amy head cam please she's a great character. The two lads seem like good blokes too
I love seeing women in trades, IDK why but Amy's pov made me so happy lol. Reminds me of being an apprentice. If a woman like her ever showed up on our jobs we'd have a guy in jail, and 2 divorces filed by noon lmao
Fantastic channel, wow you have some patience, I can see your trying to get on at speed but your constantly having to stop to look after your apprentices, you make a brilliant teacher.
Honestly, I'm not very happy at my job atm and watching these vids make me want to get in to bricklaying. I done a bit at college but I love watching these vids
Those panels look a right pain in the arsenal, very fussy with all the damp and insulation and weep holes and vents and expansion foam.......... Keep up the good work mate, hope you're crew will stick around.
It's nice 2 see how patient u r wiv the apprentices they'll learn alot from u,wen I laboured for 2 brickies the apprentice just helped me bump out an he did all the pointing up,never saw him lay a brick an I was wiv em for 6 months 😂
Excellent job gang, Some nice tips there. Great work Harry and Amy , your work looked really good 👍 Good grafting Liam. Nice one Charlie. See you in the next one 👍🤙💪👌✅👊💯🍻
Always a great video especially when you get back from school or work and just wanna have a relaxing period just wack on one of your videos and they bring me joy
@@CharlieCollison its cool to learn shit i was never taught at college, 2years of bricklaying and ive never layed a brick on site 🙈 still love it though ✌️
Evening charlie yer those bricks are a pain I found if you tap then all the way round they snap cleaner just something I found may not work for you but thought I share it with you. Love the vidz keep it up
Looks frustrating , having to look after apprentices surely doesn't work out that your that better off . I'd get fed up having to stop laying every 10 minutes
just plumb the perps beneath ,pencil mark every so often lay a brick to one of the marks maybe 10 bricks apart and it will be spot on .Regarding expansion joints just plumb 1 side for 3 courses ,rack back the other side and put em in free hand butting up to the plumb side ,you will thank me later !
you can also use the head of the next brick your going to lay to check if your half bond, so lay the first brick then offer the head of a brick to the course below next to the perp you want to be half bond with and the brick you ve just laid should be inline with the header your holding, saves messing about with levels and pencils
