Awesome episode, Liam! I never tire of seeing A & C Meet Frankenstein and my favorite scene is when Costello is reading the card about Dracula and Lugosi’s hand and moving candle! And for American Werewolf In London, my favorite scenes are between Naughton and the decomposing Dunn 😂. This was a very fun episode, Liam!

Great review. American Werewolf in London did have that great mix of horror and comedy. One thing that puzzled me about that movie? They didn't use silver to kill him, did they? Usually, you need silver to kill werewolves, but I don't think this movie went that route. I could be wrong and might have to watch it again. I agree with you that it has the best transformation scene ever. The only movies that comes close is The Howling, another great werewolf movie, that also plays around with the werewolf lore and of course the 2010 re-make with Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins. As far as horror comedies go. My all time favorite is, Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein. Really enjoyed this video. Awesome job!!!
You're right! They didn't use silver, this is definitely a film that took its own path and dropped some of the usual werewolf tropes! The Howling also has a fantastic transformation sequence! It's really freaky too!
Just catching up on your videos. . 👍 AWIL has to be my favourite movie. I do still have a copy on VHS with native mono sound ! I watched it a few months back and was surprised how the picture quality still held its own.
4K watch,some of the plot and all the love stuff is downright ridiculous,probably 3.5 for story. Best werewolf transformation in all of cinema,love the beginning scene and all the werewolf lore,how everyone he kills will remain undead until werewolf blood line is vanquished.some genuine creepy scenes and amazing special effects,so even with goofy story I boost this up to a 4.5 :) but my fav werewolf movie is dog soldiers ;)
Werewolf movies are my favourite part of the Horror genre (unless a movie has Peter Cushing, then that trumps everything - so 1975's The Legend of the Werewolf is the tops for me). However, there's no arguing the brilliance of AWIL - I seem to recall the Paris sequel wasn't half-bad either. :)

The only horror film up to now that I just can’t get on with… I’ve watched this a few times and I’m not sure why, but this film doesn’t grab my attention…
Right, let me stop you right there. This classic werewolf film is not a Horror/Comedy. Sure, it has some humour in it, but even John Landis said himself, that this isn't classed as a horror/comedy, it's a horror.
I'm not going to debate and I get your point of view but, it IS a horror comedy. No matter Landis' intentions, this is the film he made and those are the genres it falls under.
