I feel like inflation is used as an excuse to not try. I'm so over it.

It’s like people can’t think for themselves. I love to complain about inflation but not to mean that I shouldn’t take care of my life.

Saying everyone is broke gives people permission to stay broke and not feel like a failure. It's also hard to refute because there aren't many obvious indicators of who has money in the bank and who doesn't.

Whenever I see people in expensive flashy cars, oversized house, going on vacation all the time, name brand clothes and shoes... I assume they are in debt and are in the merry-go-round with debt payments. Meanwhile I do a trip once or twice a year and all of my retirement and non retirement accounts are set up properly. You would never guess because I don't "look" well off.

I get so tired of hearing, " it must be nice" every time my husband and I go on vacation, make a large purchase, etc. It is nice because we saved, budgeted and planned for these things. Sacrifices were made because we looked at the big picture. PS, I love all of your videos. I always seem to learn something new 😊

Yes!!! My husband and I hear this a lot. What people don’t see are the choices we make, saying “no” to unnecessary wants, living modestly, not having brand new cars, etc…

I think people (me included) have a hard time changing our mindset because we have a hard time grasping that getting good w/ $$ takes time. It doesn’t happen overnight. Everyone I know who is good w/ money said it took YEARS. I’m feeling like I don’t have years 😂

Yeah, habits are hard to break, especially bad habits, it takes time, effort and discipline, and most people lack discipline.

We miss opportunities because we’re stuck in fear mode. After countless low paying jobs that treated me horribly and essentially forcing me to quit over and over again, I stood up for myself and contacted employment attorneys… that is how I was able to get a little bitty piece of the pie to create my emergency fund🤞🏽Don’t tolerate jobs treating you like a dog, if you have a legitimate case an attorney will work for free upfront and take their fees out of the case winnings

Everyone is not broke. People are just making different choices. You should always make changes for the environment you are living in. Love your tips!❤ We can make changes in our own circumstances, but you have to actively try and make small steps.

I'm a believer that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. I was stuck and decided to start reverse budgeting and for me that worked! That means I save/ invest a portion of my income first instead of last. And put a portion of that into stocks like Amazon,Google, Nvida etc. It only takes about $10 to start. I'm sooo glad I did this! Instead of trying to save money maybe people should buy blue chip stocks, just a thought.

You are right. I responded to a video, which said everyone was broke, by saying, Correction: everyone is not broke, and I thought people were going to have a nervous breakdown, they literally went ballistic. I knew then, that they are being completely brainwashed by social media, and are lost. I, am one of those people that saves for everything and always have. I have received a lot of flake about about it, but I never stopped doing it. I am now retired because I applied this mindset to my goal so that I could retire. I used to see and would often hear news broadcast and still do, telling people that they cannot retire, and I know of some people whom I worked with, who believe this, but I was determined that I was not going to be one of them. Its about believing in yourself, avoiding the negative feedback and setting goals, and also, as you said delayed gratification.

@BreeLove-zx5pz I understand that, but she was not talking about being laid off, and neither was I. I have been laid off, believe me, I know what it is like. Drinking water for dinner because you can't buy food, been there, done that.

I always say, "Maybe the Jones' have the money to pay for it." The thought that someone can't afford what they have is just a way to deal with jealousy. I have access to people's financial picture (for work) and can tell you, a lot of people have a lot more money that you think.

I understand exactly what you are trying to convey, but, to some people it is easier to complain and play the hard done by card. We all need, and have to, chart our own path, no one can do the hard yards for us. And that may be a difficult truth for some to swallow. Thoughts from a Aussie pensioner, love your channel x

Even if everyone was broke, having the mindset of “how can I not be broke” or “how can I be better with my own finances” vibrates much better to help you achieve your own goals.

I have a 6 mos emergency fund and sinking funds. I got a part time job to help build it. I being good with money requires discipline and not buying useless crap you don’t need. I realize some people are having trouble covering the basics but it might be time to level up your job.

Thank you for making this video. Everyone isn't broke. People thinking that others are broke is contagious. But this mindset may present an opportunity for those of us with good money saving habits. Debt accumulation and negative consumer confidence could spur a recession creating buying opportunities in the stock market. Save and invest regardless of what others are saying or doing.

i have seen people whom are well off financially and those who are not. the latter ones have a list of excuses at the ready as to why they dont have their finances in order. one has to start somewhere. i was not one to make excuses but i put in that work ot,investing, living below my means, paying myself first and it paid off. in a decade i have reached a point that i never thought possible even a few years ago. i think people defeat themselves by thinking it cant be done. my biggest fear was living paycheck to paycheck.

Yes. An odd version of this is the person who always says they’re broke but really they paid themselves first in 12 retirement funds and investments etc, so they have no more spending money. Which is great, but it’s not “broke”. I had a friend, when I was struggling to pay the rent (and everything else) would reply I KNOW me TOO I’m so broke TOO but really she was talking about the month after the upcoming payment, AND she had already put her considerable monthly savings aside in various savings and investments. Which is great for her, but was really tone deaf to my struggles to compare her situation to mine. Please don’t exaggerate to sympathize, it really made me feel terrible when I found out.

I don’t actually know any broke people, l’m certain they exist but none move in my social circles. Everyone I know has an emergency fund, mainly because we all have expenses so low that it would be impossible not to ( only bills are utilities, land taxes, medical checks, occasional transportation and food)

I think people are just simply impatient and want instant gratification. Saving money takes TIME. Time is money that you can’t take back. Time= wealth. That’s my POV on it. 💸💰 it really is a MINDSET, and consistency. Everyone’s situations are different, but you either make excuses or make it happen. Period. There’s a video of a single mom here on RU-vid that saved $40K in a year. 🎉 truly I was inspired.

I have seen the comments as well some of those people are just lazy some people just don’t want to save for anything this is why sooo many people were struggling during Covid when laid offs or shortages of hrs took place would think people would learn a session from it all but no people are back to their old habits smh

If you can't save money, definitely need a lifestyle change. Have to get a second job or cut back on spending. Either of those is hard to do and I'm sure that's why people just live paycheck to paycheck.

THANK YOU!!! Some people aren’t trying to keep up with the Jones and can live within their means. And others recognize that they may not have the best money habits and are trying to learn and do better. 👏🤛🎆 Like, just because you want people to be as broke and miserable as you are (because you won’t try to change those habits), doesn’t mean they are, or have to be.

I have $10k emergency fund and a little over that amount in stocks as apart of my retirement plan because I don’t have a job that offers retirement. I’m sober and prefer to buy groceries and eat at home. The same people that complain about price of groceries eat out and order delivery and are regularly drinkers. The people that complain about gas prices buy luxury vehicles. Or they use regular and then damage the car, then complain about the price of cars even though they don’t choose the brand wisely and care for it properly. #CognitiveDissonance
