I was disappointed that they spent all this time making these absolutely horrifying and realistic animatronics but they never have them actually do anything other than jump scare you for choosing incorrectly. They dont threaten you in any way at all. It would have been cool to see them peak around corners or enter the office for a while and put fear into the players heart knowing that these giant robots could murder them.

In the beginning the animatronics were supposed to enter in your office. There is the render of Foxy, you can look up online. And in the game’s extras you can also see the render of Freddy in the office too. I don’t know why they scrapped this idea… it looked so much cool and horrifying

I kinda wish they made nights 1-5 more interesting. Like how other games would add new characters and mechanics as the game progresses. Jr's has all six of the characters active immediately on night 1 and the only thing that really changes the later nights is that you have to find the ghost more. I personally liked everything BUT the story. I don't mind the lack of scares, it made the game more interesting to me but the story felt too fast for me. It felt like they were trying to get us to feel something for the two protagonists, but there was not enough time to do so. The dude JUST arrived in the barrens and suddenly he's like "no matter what, we can do anything if we do it together." and im like,,,bro? we just met calm down. But other than that, I LOVED the games aesthetic and visuals. These are hands down my favorite animatronic designs and id love to see more games made in this style.

The story for me was insanely underwhelming at the end it was like “Gasp! Finally, you to see WHY the spirit hates Paulbe- oh- you’re not gonna explai- oh she’s dead? My issue with Jr's is that the mechanics are shallow and once you've learned them, the game is basically over because there's not much the game can do against you once you've figured it out. It creates this weird phenomena where players actually have the hardest time the first 3 nights and then they breeze through the rest of the game until they come across Mangle which is only hard because the game gives you about 15 seconds to learn his mechanics.

@@ree2b They're not this bad because all the animatronics have unique behavior. In the main gameplay of Jr's, they all behave the same. If they're haunted, they leave signs of it and you track them down. There is no Foxy randomly stealing 10-15% of your power or Freddy acting as a wall that makes you balance how long your camera is up and your power usage. The most unique behavior that I've seen in Jr's main gameplay is Balloon Baby will mess around with his stability number at random.

As someone who has dabbled in 3D programs, I can absolutely say that the most impressive part of this game must be the realism. Most fnaf games usually go with large and open designs for their offices, but this manages to keep it grounded in reality. Plus, the rooms seen from the cameras are indistinguishable from real photos. There are still a lot of things to praise about the game's visuals, but it would just be too long to include here. Even though the gameplay lacks in some parts, it still impressed me a whole lot.

For B I think it has to do with the animatronics' stability. You have to counter the decreasing stability with repairs so that incorrect guesses don't kill you.

When I download a game, I expect well thought out, engaging and creative gameplay that gets me hooked in trying to master the game's mechanics. I feel like my biggest praise for the game is how engaged it keeps you because you're always trying to find who it is. Most fnaf fan games have you doing nothing for a solid minute at times which is why I think this game is much more engaging than most gameplay wise. I also appreciate its uniqueness. I feel that the game doesn't need to be scary either as a lot of scary fnaf fan games sacrifice strategy for scare factor which I would hate this game to lose since its strategy is its shining factor personally. One thing that does scare me though is sending an animatronic down to repairs but being unsure whether they're actually haunted or not but being forced to because their stability is low anyways. It feels terrifying as you are unsure whether you're going to get jumpscared or not. Even when you know an animatronic is innocent and send them down to repairs you still have that uncertainty within you that does not know for sure and is still unsure whether you're going to get jumpscared or not. I know this happened with me especially with handprints in the game. Definitely one of the most engaging fnaf fan games I've ever played :) Also the keyboard controls thing is actually a good thing personally since ucn and sister location custom night did it too and it makes it much smoother to play then having to try to press a button every time. I think most of your complaints come from it not being scary enough but I seriously love how strategy based it is and I don't feel it needs much scare factor. It's still a horror game though since the jumpscares can sometimes surprise you.

I will say, while I don’t find much of the main game scary, the game’s 7/20 mode provided a good alternative: Stress. You’re given the insane task of catching the ghost 35 times, with little to no downtime between each successful spotting, and an instant loss if you pick the wrong animatronic. I can get through the first 17 just fine, but reaching that middle point really starts to drain your focus. It’s so easy to keep glancing at your progress, to second guess your every estimate, anxiously waiting for the nightmare to draw closer to its conclusion. It psychologically wounds up, after so many successes, you start to expect a failure to occur on any of the last tasks, there’s no way you can be right every time, right? Definitely the biggest highlight for me regarding this game. Night 6 without the checkpoints had my heart pounding quite a bit, but the demand 7/20 asks of you was a whole other octave. Even if you don’t beat, I strongly recommend everyone to at least give it a few tries.

I think one way they could mix up nights 1-5 is to have the area get progressively more haunted/unstable as Mangle is being literally built up. Adding more distractions to the player as they go on. Animatronics whose pathing is a little bit wonky vearing close to the office, but not enough to attack, noises occuring as they bump into more objects causing a ton of noise as they barley manage to miss running into a table as you can't keep up with their stability. That or maybe make it harder to actually identify which animatronic is haunted. For example let's used Freddy and how his withered form has one eye. What if the other eye was occasionally flickering back to life given that the wiring was nearly pulled out. Meaning that you can't use his eyes to track him as easily and would have to wait and use the wire frame overlay to properly track him. Or maybe if Bonnie's arm was ripped off meaning he couldn't leave a hand print as often as other animatronics. Maybe even do something close to the owl tail with Chica and have the cupcake sneak into your office to mess with cameras or other punishments as training to the owl tail. Mind you it's not perfect, but it'd be something to make each animatronic have either a unique tell/give some more obstacles as the nights progress.

you make really good points! i've never cared much about analyzing the fan games but jr's was so hyped up i actually went and played through myself and.. i'm not big on it. the environment and overall design of the game itself looks phenomenal i agree but for the first half of the game i felt like i wasn't able to appreciate the animatronics and fully be immersed because again, as you said, the jumpscares are very quick and simple. i'm a bit hard of seeing aswell so it could definitely play a role in why, but i rarely could tell freddy and bonnie apart on the cameras, and i didn't really get to see the characters whatsoever unless they got me or were sent to be repaired (but even then, you could barely see some of their faces). once you learn the mechanics of the game, it's really easy to fly through until you get to mangle's basement, which i only feel is so difficult because you're given like, zero time to figure out what you're doing. the story was simple and effective like you said, but it almost felt short in a sense - the "antagonist" being mangle wasn't really much of a mystery since i clued in as early as the first video tape. overall, the scare factor wasn't really there for me and the story wasn't very appealing, so i really hope they take our reviews into consideration and polish it a bit more as they continue to work on updates.

(typed before vid) I see a lot of people are critical of the gameplay, but I've just got to say I love it. you can only have the standard "animatronics hunt you down close the doors" format scare you so many times, and while there are other ways to spice it up I actually really like the detective work system. cameras have always been super underutilized in fnaf and usually have a sound lure gimmick stitched on to make it useful or is just there so you don't swivel back and forth on the lights waiting to close the doors. and the fear that it brings knowing that YOUR choice could be the death of you, but indecision will kill you faster is delicious. my only complaint is night 6, specifically bc it is the polar opposite of all these things. TLDR; junior's is a cool spin on fnaf and actually uses the camera to it's full, but why did it stop being junior's at night 6

This game is style over substance incarnate. I don't think the game is bad by any means, but it feels like all the incredible art and these horrifyingly realistic animatronics kinda just went to waste. We only really ever see them in a dark conveyor belt, on some blurry green cameras, or when they jumpscare you. I liked the concept of finding a ghost that travels between animatronics really interesting and I think it's a great idea. But the actual gameplay itself really isn't that special. Maybe some more details and clues throughout the nights would've made the game a bit more investing. I dunno it just kinda sucks that such great designs were barely even visible. So presentation? Excellent Story? Good Gameplay? ...Could be improved.

My biggest issue is that they didn't utilize the phenomenal models that they made in any way that was actually engaging and showed them off to the player. They are some of the scariest and coolest animatronic models I've seen used in any piece of FNAF content and they're barely in the game. You only get to see them on the pixelated, glitchy cameras, the poorly lit storage room, in quick jumpscares, and (as mentioned) through effort in the sixth night. Then, you're left to look into them through the menu (which, while I appreciate getting to see them up close, I wish wasn't necessary to get a good look at them). They, like Battington's models, are the closest I've seen someone get to to a realistic FNAF animatronic that mimics the style real restaurant animatronics had in the 80's. Aside from that, the claymation cutscenes and retro style intro segments really made a game that had a creative twist on FNAF gameplay and lore that at least lived up to the hype through presentation.

I have some interesting ideas for a possibly re-invigorating experience of this game. I refer to the basic nights (1-5), not the Mangle boss fight. (There's a TL:DR so skip if this looks scary to read I don't blame you) The first idea is to split the two mechanics of this game (investigation and maintenence) into two different rooms. These two rooms would not be directly connected, but they'd have a hallway between them. INVESTIGATION/SECURITY: The first room would be a standard Security office. However, given that this is Junior's, and not some high-end location like FNAF 1 or 2, there would be no doors. Doors aren't a standard part of security office equipment, and they're overused anyways. But I'm getting ahead of myself. This room is where you would have access to Cameras, allowing you to properly do your investigation. It could still use the same computer monitor, or a slightly upgraded one; like I said, semi-small location. The player can also check if a certain animatronic is haunted from the Security Office. However, using Cameras and other mechanics (haven't gotten that far yet) would generate noise. Noise attracts animatronics, whether they're haunted or not. Non-haunted animatronics will approach the player, but not kill them. Haunted animatronics will approach the player and kill them. The jumpscare would only occur once the animatronic has fully approached the player, so you wouldn't be able to use this system to figure out who's haunted or not. A change I would also make is that the lower an animatronic's stability is, the more likely it is to actually kill a player, with 0 stability meaning it will kill the player on sight (so if an animatronic is at 0 stability, you may still be able to fix them). However, only the ghost animatronic will produce ghost elements; so while there might be multiple hostile animatronics, there's only ever one GHOST. To counteract this, however, the player would also be equipped with a Security Taser, which has 5 uses before needing to be recharged in the Maintenence room. If an animatronic enters the Security Office, the player can shock that animatronic. Shocking an animatronic will reset them, but also decrease their stability by a certain amount (probably 20 or so). The Security Taser can only be recharged in the Maintenence room, but it cannot be used there. MAINTENENCE: Maintenence, on the other hand, would be a very dangerous place to be. While it is a bit harder for the animatronics to hear the player, there is also no protection whatsoever. If an animatronic finds you in there, you're almost certainly dead (unless their stability is high). Maintenence is where a player can recharge power for the Security Office (if that really needs to be a feature), recharge their Security Taser, and summon animatronics for maintenence. Maintenence is a lot simpler than Security. TL:DR Split Investigation/Security and Maintenence into two different rooms, add a defense mechanism that can be used in the security office, make animatronics with lower stability act more hostile to the player (but not show ghost-like symptoms), and make Maintenence a place to recharge power (again if that's wanted as a mechanic), the taser, and fix animatronics.

I agree almost entirely with this review. This game is an absolute breath of fresh air for the genre and Mangle's design is my animatronic amalgam design of all time, and is probably the best design this fandom has come up with. Over all, I wish I just had more of this game because there's so much to this story that could still be expanded on, specifically things like the connection between Paulbear and the Spirit. Also, while I know, as a fan game, this is not canon, I wonder if this incarnation of the Mangle is connected to the FNAF 2 one in this universe. I guess we'll never know without a sequel. Edit: Meant *Favorite* animatronic amalgam design but I'm keeping it as is for the funny.

Ok I do a little explanation on the end of Jr's: First of all the game is a prequel to Fnaf 2 (the sentence at the end where he asked a certain Jeremy when he wanted to start referred to the protagonist of fnaf 2), the Mangle is nothing more than a set of pieces that the animatronics have given him (a bit like Ennard) and also explains the content of the videotapes you found the previous nights (in fact at the beginning of the last night on the tablet you notice the icons of the animatronics that move, they are bringing the remaining pieces to complete the Mangle) As for the ghost it is the little girl from UCN or Fnaf 6 (I don't remember well) who looks for Paulbear (of which I have no idea what it could be) and in the end the protagonist seals her inside that place as well. that can no longer escape I am happy that even now from fnaf you get fan made games so well made and appreciated, in fact I can't wait for fnaf plus to come out

A little off topic, but if you didn't know, the name "Jr's" has actually made an appearance in FNAF 6 in an easter egg found in the Midnight Motorist minigame. The easter egg can be found in this minigame, you probably already knew about this, but I just wanted to say.

Plaintrace: The horror is lacking... Me: And then there's The Pear Plaintrace: And the gameplay too... Me: You gonna mention The Pear too? Plaintrace: And then there's the elephant in the room. Me: The Pear! Plaintrace: The Pear.

I think an issue is that all the characters except Balloon Baby and Marionette during the 5 spot the imposter nights had their own specific and unique mechanics that set them apart and proved to be a unique challenge. Also I feel like there wasn't enough explanation of what to do on night 6(particularly the mangle phase). Lastly, I've seen the mechanics in the main five nights are really easy to exploit to basically getting multiple random correct guesses in a row.

Jr’s in my opinion is the best FNAF fan game I’ve ever seen. It’s the only fan game that can rival my love for FNAF Plus.

I feel like for how much the new characters designs were promoted, we should’ve seen them a lot more in the games :|

I would love to see the characters move on the cameras, maybe a slight shake, or even a really intense one that puts you in edge. You know that animatronic is possessed, but the incredibly fast shake is unnerving.

In case if you didn’t know JR’s was based off the location with the same name from the Midnight Motorist minigame, but the thing is while this fangame presented JR’s as like a Freddy’s location, while the backstory about JR’s is vague and mysterious except for kicked out the guy before HE was driving back to home.

This is the first "fan game" I have played from FNAF in a LONG time (the last time I played any FNAF stuff was back with fnaf 4 so yeah it's been a while) anyways, I really REALLY loved this game. I agree it isn't scary but definitely is a good game. I ran into some bugs with the repair system that was irritating. The system would tell me I had someone in the room when no one was there for me to fix and I was unable to call anything else--which, of course, would screw any game I was doing (especially night 5). Night 6 was fun the first few times I played but I gave up on it because the first half just got so monotonous for me to do (I struggled with the Mangle half) that I never finished the game--and don't plan to. Overall I personally think that was a fun game and gives me some hope about projects--like FNAF Plus--turning out better than I expect. :)))

The animatronics look SO AMAZING that it's a shame that they appear so little. It would have been absolutely awesome is they did something similar to the original FNAFs: peak through the doors, vents, maybe even glitch the computer screen/ jumpscare on the cameras. Imagine them coming closer to inspect you when you wear the mask! Or imagine that the game made the animatronics start "hurting" themselves throughout the night because the spirit want to use the pieces for the Mangle, and so they appear more withered ans scarier each time you see them (eyeless, missing pieces of fur, faceless, mouth unnaturally open!). That could have also been the reason why you need to do maintainance throughout the night, because the Jrs' knows the animatronics destroy themselves at night and need them ready for the shows in the morning! These designs are just SOOOO cool and I'm disappointed about how little they were used!

Im pretty sure that they didnt want to make it scary but understandable yes. I feel like playing the game itself is scarier than any jumpscare.

Probably my favourite fan game, I love the different ways to find out who's haunted but night 6 is really cool but glitchy
