An Honest Summary of HoloAdvent's Debut 

Would just like to emphasize that everything I said here are just things I gathered from their debuts + my opinions. They may be wrong or will change when further information about them surfaces. Keep that in mind thx

I think Shiori is totally fine, She wasn't playing a character and being much more herself than many talents are at debut. She's got an interesting model and has a variety of interesting hobbies, likes, and dislikes. She is also VERY aware of the memes and internet culture so I'm looking forward to her audience interactions.

I agree with everything you said about Bijou, except the part about her being the lovechild of Shondo, Gura, and Mumei. She sounds much more like the lovechild of Shondo, _Kobo, and Rosemi,_ and honestly, that scares me a lot more. She’s gonna go far, I can _feel_ it.

I liked Nerissa BECAUSE she's doesn't fit into the community's weird fetish tropes. She feels like the adult in the room. And I needed that after losing Nina for the time being.

I find it baffling that I came across people that disliked Shiori's voice. Not only that but some even saying that her design was wasted potential. I for one really like her design and voice. She has interesting lore, hobbies, and even likes feeding stray animals.

For me as someone unfamiliar with FuwaMoco's past lives, their debut felt a lot like watching translated clips of JP vtubers with how much they lean into the Kay Fabe which actually feels really refreshing compared to other EN vtubers. The fact that they seem to be enjoying it so much makes it work very well.

Shiori being a normal healthy girl while the rest of the community is a majority of degens is pretty much why I loved Meloco and why I love her

I think the situation around Shiori just highlights how people tend to generalize tropes, in this case around the idea of goth. Goth encompasses a lot of things and isn't solely a personality or a way someone acts, its different for each person and some people just like goth fashion but don't have the personality to match, or their goth identity is just different as is the case with generalized stereotypes. So to the haters: Screw you and your generalized desires.

I listened to Nerissa's cover last night after it was all over, and HOLY...SHIT. That voice is angelic, god tier, like it's stuck in my head now. Just like Kronii with council just her look alone captivated me, and I was NOT disappointed. Shiori surprised me the most, was expecting like DN a deep voiced don't give a shit vibe. The Gap Moe is real. Bijou is just funny, she's got the little jokester vibe. FuwaMoco... what can you say, they got that new puppy energy. Probably looking forward to their career the most.

My honest thoughts about them Shiorin: she can fix me and I can fix her, but honestly, I believe leaving each other as broken as we are is much better. She's unhinged in a beautiful way. Bijou: She's adorable and I like that she wanted her fans to each one have "a sense of individuality" via the pebblesonas, very creative and easy to follow. Nerissa: She's got a wonderful singing voice and feels very nice to listen. She feels like a cool older sister who would take you out on a karaoke marathon. FuwaMoco: very ambitious, very adorable, I hope they can achieve all their dreams. The pledge part made me tear up a bit. Overall, 10/10, Cover made it once again hiring some very great talents, and I'm rooting for their success.

The more I watched Shiori, the more I feel her voice and personality fit her model even better than the crazy type. She is perfect in the model.

I don't know if I'm the only one to have noticed this, but since the twins are basically getting (I assume because I don't know how it works) half of what they would get if they were individuals like the other 3, them not having 1 single birthday stream means they are gonna rake in that money in February next year! I'm really happy for them, even though I never heard about them until their graduation last year. I wish them all the best. And Shiori with her BRB screen... as an artist, I LOVE THAT SO MUCH! Everyone in this gen is based!

Shiori hate is the most confusing thing I have ever seen.

Already liking Shiori because she's a legit Bibliophile. Her choices of books are pretty close to my preferences. I own hardbound copies of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes books. Musgrave Ritual and Yellow Face are probably my favorites. She's a kindred spirit when it comes to fanfics too. She's pretty based in her choices like Metalocalypse and the Ghost Stories dub.

As soon as fuwamoco started talking my tear glands got weak. I was very into their VN streams before graduation and it bummed me out how fast they were gone.

HoloEN3 was quite the success, since Hololive only actually debuts new members rarely, but I think they're here to stay. They have great unique personalities, each filling a respective niche, (from what I've seen). Also yeah, good job Nousagi, you hit the nail on the head on this one, looking forward to the future of these girls.

I knew shiori in her past life, she’s a really good cozy vtuber, one of the OGs of EN that’s all I’ll say on it; still please support her; I’m 100% certain she’s gonna make very interesting content, mostly personally edited content which is something I miss from the vtuber sphere.

The moment I heard Shiori's voice, it gave me the hardest feelings of nostalgia, and when I looked into my subscriptions and crossed-examined their voices; she was one of the vtubers around the OG era (back when 3D models were the trend). Damn, I am so proud of her that she got into Hololive. It's like seeing an old friend become a better version of themselves. And yeah... her previous self was soooo much more unhinged than she is now. I feel like she will definitely be the leader of the group based on her experience. I think listening to Touhou Music is deep weeb culture imo, not something quite vanilla nowadays. So even though Rissa may be new to the VTubing Industry, she has deep experience in the music industry and music culture. Generally, I think this Gen is gonna be great, they have a ton of potential. Lets just hope and support them so that they manage to reach that point

As DN said. This is just their debut. Give them like a month or two and you will see what their content will be like and then you can judge them from that.

And you know what i like from Shiori? is that she is even more smarter than people think but compensates with her eccentricity too (also she is literally the most "oldest" there in terms of years doing this. SHE ALMOST PREDATE HOLOLIVE). And the fact she likes Sherlock Holmes and mystery novels, is a bookworm, has a strange sense of fashion and eccentric things make it clear. SHE IS the "Sherlock for Amelia's Watson" believe or not. Since Watson was always the hyper competent of the duo, while Sherlock was the all brain. Who is the hyper competent one in HoloEN? *DING DING* you guess it. Ame. The more i think the more sense it makes if you go with any version of the duo from books and movies. About Nerissa. YEAH! she is kinda new in a little of sense, if you KNOW who she is, but OH BOY!! she is literally a professional (both singer and VA as well. A guy from the discord server jump at notice who she is). But yeah!! its vanilla because she is basically the person who got in with only experience in other fields. Honestly people judge for what we had, but remember. THEY ARE HAVING ONLY 1 or 2 days. They are literally starting and we got even more we can keep up in a sole day. I'm more than pleased to see why they took so long too. This fullifil all the expectations for me and they went HARD ... REALLY HARD with everything. 2 covers, 2 back to back original songs, 1 group song, ANIMATED VIDEOS, etc. If anything, this rise the bar again on what presentations looks like.

I find Nerissa to have a lot of promise, I would describe her as a mix of Fauna and Kiara. She's lively, has a sisterly aura and voice, and is extremely weeby and passionate about her likes, that sort of people are very attractive to listen to. Also, her singing voice is absolute goddess-tier.

In a span of 3 days, Shiori already asserted her dominance as a relatively well composed menhera with strange knowledge, habits, and obsessions..... -> Knowing about 80% of vtuber tech and culture history -> Eating with scissors.... -> Being more top than her genmates.... -> Saying some unhinged lines in recent stream.... _WAS THAT NOT EDGY ENOUGH, UNGRATEFUL BASTERDS!?!?!?_

Was definitely a lot of pressure like a hydraulic press for all the girls, so I'm personally so happy for all of them. Especially when 4th channel is essentially common knowledge over here. We don't pump out new gens very often and I'm happy these girls are getting this opportunity. This gen of demons is full of angels.

I agree that even a veteran vtuber would be nervous debuting in hololive, but to be fair, Bijou seemed perfectly ready, and Fuwacoco (maybe because they had each other) didn't give me any nervouss vibes at all, just happy to be here. Overall none of them felt monumental, but all showed potential, I think this generation will be just fine once they work on themselves a bit more. Also Bijou is surprisingly my favorite so far, that girl is SMART, had the chat participating often during her stream, she kept everyone engaged right from the debut, and did little things to start consolidating her fanbase, like showing live the looks of her pebbles, how to draw them, giving important details while keeping it simple and open enough to customization. Watch out for her, girl got them brains under all that mineral.

The blank canvas for Nerissa is kinda accurate yeah. Kinda like with Mumei. Took a while but Mumei's colors and passions started slowly being painted on that canvas. We all know how great that went so im curious to see how it works for Nerissa

When FuwaMoco get their 3D models, they will become truly OP. I've been seeing their dancing for the last decade and a half, they really rep their idol choreos and stamina. Their non-stop grinding and efforts have finally been given a chance to shine in front of millions of people.

To be honest, I actually share the same expectations with everyone regarding Shiori, but after i heard her voice.... I could never forget that voice, she was responsible for draggin me into the hole in 2018 and I was just so happy to see her in my favourite company. Were my expectations met? No.... but I just dont care anymore cuz Shiori or the person behind the avatar means alot to me as a Vtuber fan. I fckin jumped and screamed seconds after i heard her voice, i was just so shocked and happy to see her in Hololive. FuwaMoco had me so hyped because of who I thought they were going to be and for being an EN I actually care about. When I was proven to be right and them having a great debut, they somehow lived up to by mile high expectations. I am so happy with how it ended up.

I'm already in love with the twins! They're so darn adorable. And the fact that they're possibly the first retro gamers of EN makes me very interested in their future streams.

They all seem passionate and excited about being in Hololive. What I like most is that they really aren't fully made in specific stereotypes but are given the option to play along with their given characters. Nerrisa gives off the realist personality so far. She adores Idol culture and loves music as plain as day. The tone of her voice while she was talking about music heavily defends this statement.

I'll admit that I followed Shiori based on her design and lore. Who doesn't love a goth bookworm? But after watching her debut, I knew that I'd keep following her due to the interests we share: reading, photography, travel, and science. It's a refreshing chance of pace. If I was a VTuber, I'd probably be doing a lot of similar educational streams. My field is in Environmental Science, so that microscope stream she's going to have is intriguing. I really like how chill she is. I'll definitely have her on in the background when I'm working on projects. As for Nerissa, I've been following her previous singing work for years. So it's been a lot of fun seeing new fans getting their minds blown. Seriously, Nerissa is going to become EN's version of Suisei. I have no doubt that she'll be added to Hololive's best singers lineup and start releasing EPs in no time. And yes, she's absolutely a professional singer; she's actually one of the most famous English cover singers on RU-vid. That's why her debut cover seemed so perfectly polished; she's been doing this a long time, and knows exactly what she's doing. If you want to look her up, her city pop covers are very easy to find, and the algorithm will take care of the rest.

Bijou: Agree, she's definitely the funniest one. I love her hee hee haha energy. Nerissa: 10/10 singing voice. I've listened to her PL cover song of Plastic Love like it's cocaine in the form of sound and music since years ago. I wish she will make so many great friends in holoEN. And her latest cover tho, bone chilling. FWMC: Honestly, i'm not so into the cutesy ones, but i appreciate their positive energy. I wish their creativity to bloom even more in hololive. A really solid group, wish the very best for them!

I swear don't take no one seriously who's calling these girls' disappointments off there first stream especially people calling shiori a disappointing. Like it should be common knowledge that these girls are starting something new and debuting for a big agency with 100k people watching them so of course there going to be nervous on there debut and like every vtuber change in a month like mumei for an example her debut she played like bird that forgets everything to now a silent but deadly and crazy person. Now advent fuwamoco imo going to reach big popularity status like gura and kobo there last stream they had a big balance of en and jp fans and they going to be like koyori stream everyday and twice a day. For nerissa, she's going to be like calli and irys not a good gamer but have alot of originals and covers and be busy off stream. Koseki is going to be like kaela but more of a shit poster and can consistently stream and game 5 to 7 hours. Shiori going to be the chill streamer but a bit crazy for an example combine mumei and fauna together. I like all the girls and they weren't disappointing. I feel like the onlything hololive en is missing is a fps gamer the gamer who is a good gamer and who's good at shooting games.

I really liked Shiori. Usually, after listening to the beginning of a debut it becomes a bit tedious for me, and I end up leaving. However, Shiori's voice was so captivating that she was the only one I watched in its entirety, and I even came back the next day to watch some specific parts again. She has a rizz that got me.

Bottomline, I hope they get the success and respect they deserve. If we read between the lines of recent graduations, this is a genre of streaming that can really eat you alive from the inside out. So even though we are just the viewers, we still have a responsibility to have empathy towards them. Love you oshis, but always see them as people first.

Having never actually watched a debut for most talents I pick them up along the way as the content overflows my feed/recommendations giving me no choice but to eventually take a look. From what little I know from this and other recaps it looks like a fun group and great addition to EN, and Hololive. As great as the individual streams can be the real magic is in the collaborations/interactions with other Hololive members and seeing what each new member brings to the overall experience as well as the interactions.

Shiori for background streams and good vibes, Biboo for memes and entertainment, Nerissa for music and relatable content, and Fuwamoco for when I just need pure sunshine and glitter injected into my veins.

I'm gonna be honest, when their designs were first teased/revealed I wasn't immediately attracted to anyone in particular. Ofc the twins did pique my interest like everyone else because of the novelty But after listening to Shiori? What a GAP! Her personality is so darn sweet and nerdy, and the goth design is just a bonus. I really like this sorta juxtaposition. She seems like the type of person I would've crushed on hard in highschool 😳 Also, she's still got it ;)

Honestly I like all of them so far. Shiori has some experience and is great as a comfy gothic streamer (and yeah, too psycho would be too much), Bijou rocks with her memes (the VINE BOOM and her presentation live edited), Nerissa yet looking like a starter is indeed a great singer for what we heard so far, and FuwaMoco really behave like twins and their energy is limitless. In all, they add good new colors to Hololive's palette. 2 years after Council, 20 months after Holo JP6 / holoX and 16 months after Holo ID3, I expected a big boom for Holo's next main generation. Not only I'm not disappointed, but I fell off my chair several times like, the memes from the community (SOUP), 100K to 120K viewers in average, minimum 290K subs for each channels as of now (SO QUICK), and for the music: 3 freakin' good covers (waiting for Shiori's), a powerful original during FuwaMoco's debut, and a BANGER OF A FULL GROUP ORIGINAL SONG!? WHAT A TREAT. HoloAdvent can have all the time needed to develop themselves, and they either started nicely or strongly good. Gonna watch these 5 from time to time, wish them good luck

1 month later: Youre right about most of them, especially the twins. Narissa becoming the En version of Marine however is an unexpected but welcomed surprise

Bijou was def the sleeper hit of advent and I was very positively surprised by her debut.

I think Hololive is in good hands with this new Generation. They seem to really value the work of their Senpais and what they made out of Hololive and the Community being visible by FuwaMoco firmly rejecting the nicknames Wawa and Coco for exampel. On the Other Hand Management did a good job in supporting their entrance and backing them up with the Trailers and all that stuff. Give them some time to establish themself and their image can´t judge a Book by its Cover.

so for me, i think EN has just kinda been banger after banger, you have holo myth, who kinda played it safe you had your singer, your comfy streamer, your gremlin, and youre kinda generalist who did a little bit and then the one who kinda started talking with the other members of hololive so the journalist kinda. pretty safe bet holo EN was new so going nuts with the personalities would be a risk, very strong start and a legendary "A" plus start then you have holo council with a chaotic rat, an airheaded and soft spoken owl who might be a psychop-friend, and a sultry voiced goober tsundere, a seiso kirin who is secretly lewd... and then you had the very friendly BEEG one. none of them overly specialized other than fauna doing ASMR and mumei and kronii doing a lot of co-op. but they have a lot of colabs, and I think Bae is kinda going into the singer position doing a lot of covers and stuff. oh... and then theres irys.. whos done a lot i'm kinda proud of her due to kinda the position she was put in and now she's kinda an unofficial member of council in a way now you have Holo Advent which we have chill goth girl GF, big sister like mommy, sorry i mean mommy, sorry. who is our singer of the group, we have based rock loli, and we have doggo sisters who already have a small morning show pilot which i've listened to and might keep listening too, maybe they'll put it on spotify... that'd be cool lets see how advent does, I watched their collab and I love how they interact with eachother, I hope they can be just as much of a banger as in my opinion council was because for me council is my favorite right now, and I can't place advent yet becuase they just started

During Bijou's debut, I really started to think that she was literally the second Shondo. And I really like it!

In Shiorins case im happy of what i watch for an important reason Most of weirdos just look at the outside designs but she is the first to give us an accurate lore personality A bookworm who fr enjoys to read and not its only her lore treats. Thats not usuall in vtubers Menheras personalites are temporal, but nerdy adorkables are eternal

I'm in the camp that expected a very different voice and performance for Shiori, but you know what? I'm perfectly fine with what we got instead, pleasantly surprised even. Definitely NOT disappointed

After watching your GoGo Nippon Girls video, I finally understood the hype around the FuwaMoco twins. I didn't follow them in their previous vtuber incarnation but I fell happy for them as well.

Shiori: I’ll watch her, but it’ll take time for me to get used to her content. Bijou: Not interested. The long streaming hours are what off put me. Nerissa: I’ll definitely watch her a lot. Her talking voice is really calming, and her singing voice is just next level. Fuwamoco: Absolutely. They got a second chance at Vtubing under a better company and have won me over long before they debuted.

Shiori is actually my favourite of the gen. Her design is top tier and I actually love her voice as well. She likes books and feeds strays which is a plus and she isn't without the quirks that makes her weird and interesting (like that scissors thing). I am unlikely to watch any member live much because of timezones and it might be that I will interact with Nerissa the most becuase she will probably have the most music related stuff (which are easier to enjoy in archive format compared to games or freetalks imo). But Shiori is currently pretty high in the list of Hololive talents I am down bad for (she doesn't come close to Suisei but still, I would go for Shiori over like at least half of the other Hololive members, probably more).

My personal favorite of the girls so far is absolutely Bijou. Im very VERY happy with all of the debuts, and was really REALLY happily surprised with FuwaCoco! Shiori and Nerissa are also nothing to be scoffed at! It took me a couple months to warm up to Council, but I found my kami-oshi Fauna there, so I'm happily awaiting how they'll settle in!

i actually love Shiori as she is, she has a nice goth aesthetic while being a very nice and kind person, it is a beautiful balance! Also as a fellow "weirdo" it is nice to see fellow weirdos (i mean that in a positive way and the good kind of weirdo, delightful weirdos such as myself) All of the 5 are really enjoyable!

Nerissa is insanely talented and she is the boomer of the group so I became a Jailbird instantly. Her cover is addicting to listen to as well. Just an amazing voice. Think people who value music and a mature woman will find her great during streams

After watching all of their debuts as well as their group collab I was honestly a bit surprised that my FAVORITE turned out to be Bijou. By the design, I also immediately thought of someone like Himemori Luna but her tweets hinted that she would definitely NOT be that. Her debut was so cute that it actually hurt my heart while also being funny enough to make me actually laugh out loud. I've also been thinking about your Vtuber tropes video and I'm kind of curious where the girls will fall. Initially I thought that Nerissa was the leader of the group from the initial lore video until I realized after watching the final version that doesn't censor the faces that it was actually SHIORI in the chair at the beginning and given the group dynamic it's clear that SHE is the leader of the group (plus one of them straight up called her the leader, so there's that). I feel like the other possible roles are kind of up in the air until I see more of each of the girls. Nerissa in particular definitely seems to be a bit of a "blank canvas" as you said with her not REALLY feeling like a Mommy or an Onee-san type but having hints of both of them all the same.

Your 1:30 face has a transparent spot between the eyebrows, visible when Shiori in the background moves around. Also love it that you described a Rushia kind of girl right afterwards. I totally stan Shiori. 100%. And Rissa being what her design gave away, not a kind of vain Kronii Nee-san kind of character, but really, really chill without trying to be a mommy through obvious voice acting is exactly what I wanted from a mature looking new member. And her cover just slapped me hard. When we all thought that she and Shiori are the edgy ones, and Rissa didn't show that side on her debut, I was a bit surprised. And then, boom. Love it. I'm not too much into the doggos, yet I appreciate what they bring to the EN sphere conceptually, and man, their list of goals screams passion. That really touched me. Unhinged, tail-wagging in your face goal listing. Please more of that. Rock loli is giga cute, I love her color scheme, but I think that I'll rather watch her via clips, while I want to have Rissa in collabs and every Shiori has to offer. I don't even like batshit insane Yandere's. But I'm totally with you here, Menhera is the vtuber way of life for me. Rushia just hit me too hard to ignore that, even when Ina and especially Bae are my oshi's. Just. Shiorin. 😌

Tbh, Shiori not fitting exactly into the fetish is probably way better in the long run. She's willing to give a lil bit of fanservice ("you want to fix me, don't you") but if she stuck to it then it'd make her pretty inflexible and hard to enjoy if you aren't really into that type of thing already. edit: Typed this out at the 1:50 mark and DN turned out to have basically the same opinion lmao

Advent is an absolute powerhouse of a gen

I'm so excited about Fuwawa and Mococo. I didn't follow their past lives, but their taste is incredible, and they're kind of what I got into holoJP for. It's like JP for EN now. I'm obsessed by them now. Besides them I'll be watching any time Nerissa sings. And I'm curious to see if maybe Shiori has more depth to her than I first thought(I too was disapointed that she wasn't what I thought by the design)

Just came off watching Nerissa's first gaming stream and normie? Haha, couldn't have called it more wrong. She's an idol superfan, super old school weeb tastes, and really into her senpais.

Maybe it's just me being out of the loop, but I didn't realize Shirori had this much backlash. The general consensus pre-debut was that she was either going to play into her character design, or be a dork that runs contrast to it. This was WELL within fan expectations. Seems to me that the loudest complainers are merely the few that pigeonholed themselves too deep into one end of the spectrum.

I was completely blown away by her first cover not only the lyrics are well made? translated? but the cover fits her voice so well. I was a bit disappointed that she didn’t sing in her debut stream now I’m just waiting for her karaoke stream.

Shiori is so far my favorite out of the 5. I also got lucky and my schedule sort of works with her stream times. Looking forward to her streams because they seem very unique.

I didn't expect to love this gen as much as I did since I don't follow V-tubers as much as I did before. But I vibed so much with Nerissa and Shiori since they are relaxing and fun to watch; it's like watching some childhood friends.

For your information(Fuwamoco), a lot of JP viewers had concerns for lying risks of issues due to them being a twin unit, which causes many issues with most of them being a economic issue. Dramas are so frequent in the Japanese RU-vid community(You ever wonder why there’s been so many changes in the “VTuber” category itself?), and the same thing happens with VTuber communities. From a view of a person who started watching HL clips around the same period ass 小路KOG, I’d say the debut looks pretty successful so far with songs being released swiftly as well. Relating to a clay is really a nice touch since it really helps people understand your opinions.
