Thank you very much for this video! I was planning on softening the suspension in my Eevee Cyprus, as stock the suspension is really stiff. I can jump up and down on the deck (175 lbs) and it barely moves. In turn you feel a lot of bumps. It's an up and coming local brand (to me) and there is nothing out there as far as aftermarket/alternate parts for this escoot, so I'm going to modify it myself. Now that I know what's inside the "mystery" suspension block as far as the suspension is concerned. I was afraid if I took apart the mystery suspension block that springs and parts will come flying out and I'll be screwed. I plan on drilling the polyurethane out strategically to enable some further dampening torquing motion. A big THANKS for sorting out the mystery for me!!!
The Wolf Warrior does have hydraulic damping in the front. Some of the forks don't have enough oil to let it work, but I can hear the dampers working when I pull the fork caps off. I added oil to mine.
Great video and very informative. Use a Zero10X and went from stock coils (without oil dampening) , to DNM airshocks (smooth ride but needs constant maintenance and repressurizing) and to my current Exa 291Rs (adjustable oil dampened coils). Prefer the Exaforms but it would be interesting to use a better air shock like Fox Float or Rockshox.
So I have an old low back injury and I need as much impact absorption as possible ( be it broken or uneven concrete sections or just plain ol’ bumps in the road ).....what suspension type or even what scooter specifically is best for this? Under $1500 if possible!
Too bad the Vsetts only have the good shocks on the back. If the front and rear both use industry standards I'd swap both to Fox or Rockshox in a heartbeat
Good suspension is almost expensive than baterys. If they put Fox or Rockshoch susp in front and rear price of suspension will bee at least 1,500€ minimum . And that is 50% price of the moust good scooters.
Anyone know if the 4 coil overs can be switched out on the Apollo Phantom? They sell a well priced coil over oil for the zero 10x for $22 each but not sure if it would be much better or if it would fit.
Wow really? They appear to my untrained eye to be the same, well as far as the overall type, size and the manner to which they attach to body and swing arm. Care to educate? I'd love to learn how you evaluate it. For instance would some of the air struts be compatible? I think I'm looking mostly at length and how it attaches to the vehicle. And aren't the phantom shocks alot like ones you show?
What would be the most comfortable for hands/wrist? I find myself trying to loosening my grip when going over speed bumps etc. because it often hurts my wrists. Especially when wearing a wristwatch
When we made this vid there weren't many available for scooters on the market but we do talk a little about them. We should make another vid with the newer models in 👍👍
How you guys specialize on these scooters in UK while they are illegal there. Great video, honestly I prefer Mantis suspension over 10X, it is stiffer and lower, meaning a lot better control, just like for example a track car.
Fingers crossed they change soon! Yes the shorter travel firmer suspension definitely good for speed/harder ground. If the rebound could be controlled it would be even better!
I think it's better to buy a self curing polyurethane resin of the right hardness, and instead of changing the elastomers in the dualtron style suspension, to mold the elastomer in in like Weped does. they just pour enough liquid polyurethane resin to fill the gaps inside the cartridge and let it cure and you don't need any extra tools to do it, just a bit of patience for the resin to cure.
What would be the most effective to ride on cobblestones? I want to buy a Vsett 8+, it has some kind of suspension but also solid tyres on both front and back.
Hi, 8+ is a cool scooter and comfy to ride with the front and rear spring suspension. If you are going over really big bumps then maybe look for bigger pneumatic tyres and higher performance suspension like the Vsett 9+ or 10+?
Solid tires will be really bad on cobble stones. I had the m365 once that I switched from pneumatic to solid and the difference was noticeable on every road I rode on. Cracks on blacktop stood out, every little anomaly got amplified 10 times and when I got to cobble stones I just walked it but that had no suspension, so the 8÷ would definitely be better. Regardless thought I'd share my experience with solids. Now I have a Phantom and with the springs as loose as they will go I can ride over 3 sets of light rail lines at 30+ mph and not feel a thing!
I have an Inmotion l9. I saw your review on it and it was very good. Thanks. I don't appear to have any movement on the front suspension though. I tried winding the dials anti clockwise in the minus direction, but still no movement it appears if you jump up and down on it. Any ideas please? The ride is still comfy though.
You prolly dont care but does someone know a way to get back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the account password. I love any help you can give me!
@Deacon Jay I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Can you do a test with accelerometer of different scooters suspension please please please ? Every smartphone has an built in accelerometer, it shows G acceleration. There are also free apps for measuring Gs on Android or Apple, and loging it to text file or paid version with avarage G value over time. Just asking, because there thousands of reviews of electric scooters and their suspension, but all of them are based on Feeling. If some reviewer had a bad day it feels to hard for him. I`m just wondering about real measurments on different suspensions, underinflated tires, overinflated tires and solid tires. Real values over pavement or big bumps. Also wheel size, I think it doesn`t matter that much as tire depth. I think fatter tires are better then bigger wheels. But there are really no data or just some casual tests on internet, so everything is just guessing :( If you could make a video about it please, I could send small donation of 50$ or so. Really interested in this, looking for buying new scooter with suspension, but really just guessing what could be better.
I would just add, that most reviews measure performance from 0-30, hill climb time for torque, breaking distance, battery milage. Only suspension is always based on feeling.
That's an awesome idea! I wonder exactly how one would mount the phone to do that. Doesn't seem like a handle bar mount would do the trick but I think I'll try it on my Apollo Phantom
@@RIDEGLIDE that may be absolutely the correct way to pronounce it. But Kah-bow is now popular and this is the way most of the public pronounces it that no one will ever use Ka-boo. In fact, you’re the first And only video I’ve seen say it like that. And it sounds less ferocious for the animal that is the Wolf King.
