Ed. You have had stories from cross country races, car lot sales, sight unseen buys, you tube adventures. How about extream sports road trips. In the 90s I used to drive cross country to BMX freestyle contest with no ideal how till days before. Pawn shop cars for $150, cars out of a field, fixing drive shaft yokes with duct tape, repairing car suspension with bike parts and coat hangers. Matt Hoffman used to do shows driving a simi truck at 15years old with no license. Talk to any BMX, Skateboard, snowboard, surfer pro and they will have crazy automotive stories for you.

@@friedbaconsizzles Being an old-car guy in an area where four to fife months a year salt is used to melt snow'n ice on the roads I can reassure You: a day ain't that bad. Worst brake job I did in my driveway was three days including a new hub we had to source after the one on the car broke when we tried to open a bolt with a lever of about 1.2 meter in length .... three people working on the car, so making it basicly a nine-day job.

@@manfredschmalbach9023 I got to ask, how is it that bad? I deal with the same rust level as Eric O from south main auto, and its not that bad to work on it, if that is all you know. Heat is a friend, the more heat, the better. The few times I worked on something not rusted (I'm not a pro, just someone who does some work here and there), it was just so nice. The people who don't deal with rust are spoiled.

That does spoil. And heat .... yes, it helps by times, but it does destroy by the same times, too, rubber brake caliper seals/O-rings and brake piston seals for example. Or rubber hoses. Or Simmer seals. Or thermostates You get out only with enough heat on their housing bolts to melt the bimetal part in the thermostate assy. together with the rubber O-ring. Wich not only melts but bakes into the already slightly pitted recess machined for it hard enough to give You half a day of work with awkwardly misused tools to get it out properly ..... It sucks. I hate it, wholeheartedly, and I'm just my own mechanic/restorer. In my book, somebody deciding to throw salt on roads in winter deserves a long prison sentence in a labour camp with forced work in an unheated, sparsely lit mechanic workshop, extracting bolts and nuts and snug fitting parts of differing alloys.

Dan gurney was a race car driver builder and owner from about 57-8 to 70 and was also the winner of the 1971 baker cannonball dude was a pioneer look at his Wikipedia page the guy I bought the hearse from told me about him when I asked why he named the gurney Dan and his schooling made me keep the name
