@@antonioellis1172 Correct you are! OBI-WAN is extremely powerful, so powerful he knew he had to cut himself off from the force for years to preserve the Jedi way and at that time he was still very weak. If he was stronger he would have easily confronted her and done what he needed to do. OBI knowing that Vader was alive forced him to reach out again which alerted Vader and re-ignited his strength with the force.
The part where she said Lord Vader will be pleased He hasn't heard that name in 10 years and when he looked so shocked and traumatized He realized that Anakin was alive but he's a monster of anger hatred and regret now.😢
It's sad what anakin has become he was great as a jedi till his anger and emotions got the better of him not the fact that he believed the emperor that the jedi were wrong and that's what led to everything going to hell afterwards.
Yeah because Obi Wan lives in a F**** ROCK and doesn't know what is going on on the freaking Galaxy right? And never heard the name of the second most famous and feared person in the galaxy. Are you that dumb??? Like seriously? Besides he knew all along Anakin was alive cause Return of the Jedi shows that when he is talking to Luke about hidden him and Leia from THEIR FATHER!!
The jedi wasn't jedi themselves. They also were corrupt. They don't believe in anakin. Had qui gon live anakin would never fall to the darkside. The jedi treat anakin like slave. No wonder the empire won lmao

Also.. why would Vader leave her, within inches of her lightsaber at that, just Vader and the grand inquisitor just leaves her to die instead of finishing her off? .. after Grand Inquisitor just survived a stab, after they reference her surviving a stab... Obi wan supposed to be hiding out and protecting Luke ... now, he's too dumb to realize that his spot has been blown up? Cmon... obi wan show was written terrible
I would like to believe he did know until this show made it otherwise. Vader was supposed to be the one responsible for hunting down and killing the Jedi, the fact that he’s been hiding and no one in the galaxy knows he even exists (if they did I assume Obi Wan would have heard) was my second least favorite part of the show. Yeah it gave us a dramatic reveal where we get to see Obi Wan find out but it takes away from his place in the galaxy if it’s just the inquisitors who people know. Then he what just shows up after 10 years like “surprise, I’m actually really powerful and these Inquisitors work for me, for some reason I’ve been hiding while I search for Obi Wan, I could have taken a new name if I wanted to fool him but instead I’ll just hide until I choose to reveal myself”. In the Lucasverse I choose to believe he was well known in the galaxy
This show would have been alot better if it focused solely on Obi-Wan and Vader. There's still some rough scenes even without Reva but her inclusion definitely made it more difficult to bare
Thing is they couldn’t. Reva was the needed catalyst to bring the character together. Otherwise Kenobi never leaves Tatooine and Vader never learns he was hiding there until a comic after he killed him in ANH.
@@ahmadhussain27 not really, he wasn’t looking for Kenobi until after Reva found him. He had no interest at first and believed him dead so he wasn’t going to try drawing him out.

@@martinm.1967from what I understand, there’s a very strong bond between a master and their apprentice via the force. In the Ahsoka show, we see Ahsoka use it to find her padawan Sabine, and to also find out what happened when Sabine disappeared. Their bond wouldn’t likely have been a developed as the one between Anakin and Obi Wan, but it does seem to allow them to in a way, connect. We saw in the animated series, that Ahsoka sensed when Anakin fell to the dark side through their master and apprentice bond.
When Reva say "ANAKINS ALIVE "they should of done a short flashback of Anakin burning on the banks of Mustafa shouting "I HATE YOU" &? then go to the construction of Vader getting Assembled ..JUST a thought
This entire dialog is absolutely 100% stupid. He didn't go by Anakin Skywalker anymore and no one would even use that name. In fact, I don't even think she would know his true identity.
@@gameking4984 An argument made in another thread which has been countered. Even the troops who were with Anakin believed he was dead. Everyone believed he was dead. It's just bad writing.
Sort of hard to hear of such rumors when he is in such a remote location that has had very minimal imperial presence since he's taken refuge there, up until this show's events of course soley because of another random Jedi that the Inquisitors were hunting. He definitely knows of Inquisitors being a thing, but naturally would assume that they are under the Emperor's command, since he thinks Vader died on Mustafar and deprived Sidious of his prized pupil all those years ago and so needed some sort of compensation for that loss.
@@plague6174 well, obi wan definitely saw anakin become vader ( even saw the clip of the chancelor calling him vader in ep 3 ) so this show kinda rewrote the story, I guess now the official cannon is obi wan is kinda dumb and didn't realize the new emperor's puppet had the same name and skills than his former apprentice left for dead on mustafar
@@costek7 "obi wan definitely saw anakin become vader".. Um yeah, the hologram he saw of the Chancellor calling Anakin "Lord Vader" IS when he first discovered his Sith identity, but then after fighting him on Mustafar and leaving him for dead as he burnt to a crisp & losing 3 limbs, he had EVERY reason to believe that Vader eventually died on that lava bank before his corpse would've eventually slid straight into the lava. That was the last he saw and heard of Anakin, because who tf could survive that? It's a way different story than Maul being split in 2 and falling down what seemed like an eternal hole. I sincerely hope in your first sentence there of seeing him BECOME Vader, that you didn't mean he saw Anakin being put in the suit after being rescued by Palpatine etc.. because he ONE HUNDRED PERCENT fucking didn't. Now ofc it wasn't until 10 years later in this show that he learned he survived his otherwise fatal injuries, simply due to just underestimating the power of the Dark Side in his former friend. But until then, he was in a very remote hiding location, and its because that he hadn't heard of Anakin/Vader surviving, means he was doing a very good job at hiding from the Empire until Reva baited him with Leia. The show didn't rewrite shit. If anything, it solidified canon even more. Because Obi-Wan somehow knew Vader is alive by the events of ANH, after being certain he was dead after RotS. So this show taking place 10-9 years in between did a good job at filling in that little hole.
@@plague6174 I wrote it as you understood, obi wan saw anakin become vader ( so yes getting his sith title, vader isn't just yhe name of the armor) and clearly in the begening of the Obi wan show obi wan knows that vader exists, but just doesn't realize that this vader is the same vader
@@costek7 in the sense of him having some sort of hope that it was just someone else in the suit instead of Anakin, until he cut open the mask and saw the truth and was heartbroken... Sure. But in a realistic sense he does not know Vader still lives until this scene when Reva says his name, causing him to pretty much shit himself in fear, which Reva sensed, and she knew it was because he didn't know, as she said.
Would have been enough just with "Lord Vader would be pleased", he already knew about name Vader, making Reva know who he is is just pointless, and no way Vader wouldn't feel it through the force someone knew....
I think palpatine prevented him from doing so. They obviously had the technology to create a slicker, slimer, more agile suit for Anakin from the beginning. Theres a reason why palpatine chose old outdated tech to revive him. He didn't want Anakin to overthrow him especially after seeing him fail against obi wan on Mustafar.
@thapoppyman orrrr maybe it's just a costume designed from the 70s based on what looked dark and sinister at the time, with lights and buttons to give the impression that he is more machine than man. And hiding that would make the suit less futuristic
Man this show was amazing still watch it over to this day. Really wish obi wan got through to him and told him about his twins maybe he would of broke the darkness

@@tomjones7184obi wan hears palpatine call anakin darth vader in ep 3, him not being able to realize the sith named darth vader, who wears a robot suit, and is 2nd in command to palpatine is anikan is ridiculous
Would have loved to see some rey-kylo action between Obi Wan and Anakin during this series. Way more flashbacks to Anakin and Obi wan training with each other during the clone wars. Also a big thing they NEED to display is Anakin's struggles between himself and other students. In the comics they were historically nasty towards him. They needed to show Anakin's internal struggles way more, as well as Obi Wans major PTSD after the clone war and order 66. There was so much they could have done. I feel like writing a proper script almost. Also boot the fkn mary sue diversity showpiece of Reva off of the show.
I may not have liked this show… But man… That transition from Obi Wan saying Anakin and us seeing Anakin’s rage and hatred within his eyes in the tank… That was fucking cool. If the show had more moments like this, it could have really been something special.
My feelings exactly. If the whole thing had been on that level then it would have been truly great. But there's just too much junk like the baby Leia chase and (for example) Reva's awful line delivery. Nothing that comes out of her mouth sounds believable or like anything other than someone just reading lines. So, in that regard they kinda nailed an aspect of the prequel's vibe lol. Though all the prequels are better than this. This should have been a movie. Would have been a kickin 2+ hours. But is a slog at miniseries length. And likely wouldn't have looked cheap in the way it sometimes does either..
Scenes between Kenobi and Vader are excellent! Kenobis humility contraats well with Vaders arrogance. Kenobi is the most powerful Jedi, yet he does not have the arrogance nor the desire to fight as does Vader, Reva and the Inquisitors do. Kenobi is definitely a true master of the Force!
Obi wan and vader had two light saber duels in the show. If you mean in this scene in particular then it wouldn't make sense for them to fight in this scene
@@Riskofrain527 that is what I mean! Why doesn’t it make sense? Reva could’ve swung at Leia and Obi Wan blocks it then a couple of clashes then Reva with the force throws him to the side which he recovers and runs for the transport Lastly Reva would still give the message that Anakin is Vader
Obi-Wan broke canon. Obi-Wan knew Anakin was Vader. In Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan watched the security film with Anakin getting knighted by Palpatine

Idk what you talkin bout they literally forgot how this man fought, Vader had a unique fighting style where he leans back with his strikes like we see in OT and Vader never turned his back on his opponents so him spinning was something I guess now his thing but I can give the spin a slide it's not serious but they forgot that he cannot raise his hand above his head which he does in the show there for he don't even fight like a samurai they have no traditional fighting arts they just baseball bat Vader alot which is crazy, I'm not a toxic fan like some assholes be but I am a nerd who is picky about details 😂😂😂😂
It's been 10 years. Are you telling me he didn't hear anything about a Darth or Lord Vader on Tatooine during that time? Really? He's not even a true hermit! He has a job, he interacts with society.
Who would talk about him? He isn’t a well known person and doesn’t often leave survivors. Tatooine is a backwater that the empire has no presence on until now because it has nothing of value and is under control of the Hutt clans, Palpatine isn’t going to step on them right now because they have access to important hyperspace lanes.
@Chazo136 are you serious? Vader is Palpatine's right-hand man, the supreme military commander of the Empire, on parr with Grand Moff Tarkin politically speaking, the public enforcer who crushes rebellions, and hunts Jedi... He would be on the news all the time, and everyone and their mom would know about Darth Vader, the man who stands synonymous with the Empire's power and tyranny. A few months to a year, like depicted in Legends, sure. Information takes time to travel. But ten years? No way. Tatooine has two space port hubs with countless people coming and going every day. If Obi-Wan was a hermit and stayed out of society, then yes, we could take advantage of the planet's isolation and say he is ignorant. But he's not. ANH showed that he was knowledgeable and familiar with Mos Eisley, and the show doubles down on that by giving him a 9 to 5. If Obi-Wan didn't see Vader on the news somewhere, he would hear about him from one of the pilots or space crews who come through.
@@corruptangel6793 Vader isn’t exactly well known, please show us where Palpatine makes him a galactic well known figure, the only ones who know of him die or become members of the rebellion.
@Chazo136 I'm using common sense. I don't read the new stuff and am going off what I've seen. Are you saying it's stated/shown that he isn't well known? He just vanishes and doesn't appear in news reports or has a position of high public authority within the Empire? That everyone who sees him dies? All the civilians in the worlds he visits or subjugated, all the media? Please provide me with evidence so I can laugh and ridicule the absurd writing. In Legends, Palpatine paraded him around, the holonet praised him as the Emperor's new enforcer, and he was the subject on everyone's tongue due to being a mysterious being of unknown origin and fights like a Jedi. He was as iconic of a symbol as a star destroyer.
@@corruptangel6793Darth Vader, just like the force, is a myth to many. He is simply not present in the news like you say, as even some Jedis don't even know of his existence, and those people who met him die with a 90% chance (if they survive the encounter they barely reference him) unless they're members of the Imperial power structures who are not present on Tatooine in large numbers and simply wouldn't care enough to talk about him 24/7. For Kenobi to learn about him being alive from the locals is like asking a man on the street who's the guy who reports intelligence matters to the President, you wouldn't get the right answer because nobody cares.
Wait, so he DIDN’T know until THIS point in the timeline? He knew Anakin became Darth Vader. So for the past 10 years no-one has mentioned that one of the Empires leading enforcers is a man in a huge black robot suit called Darth Vader? Just didn’t come up in conversation on Tatooine EVER??
They should've used the legends storyline where he went into a cantina on tatooine and saw Vader's hologram and instantly recognized Anakin instead they used Reva, the star of the show, a "strong" female character to tell him.
Yeah, because the empire barely had a presence on Tatooine, in fact this is the first time they go to the planet at all, it’s mentioned in the show multiple times that the empire doesn’t really go there because there isn’t anything worthwhile, the only reason they are there is because of a Jedi rumour.
@@gzz8551 no it’s called listening to the plot, literally gets told that the empire more or less leaves Tatooine alone because it’s useless, so the empire goes there twice in Kenobi’s lifetime and that’s because of something important.
The fact that this is a decade after Revenge of the Sith and Obi-Wan is acting like he hasn't heard the name Vader. The Dark Lord that was famous across the galaxy... somehow he hadnt heard of him in a decade.
i think its cause reva was a youngling at the time when Anakin and the clones stormed the temple? and she probably saw him so i assume that’s how reva would know?
This was one of the dumbest moments in the entire show. The reveal should NOT have come from her, it took away all of the emotion and suspense from the moment.
Anakin put himself in a prison without walls. His suit. Also, he was not in control of the darkside of the force. The darkside was controlling him. He made a decision. And then blamed the people that really cared about him for it.
Also they start strapping the control box onto him when he is shirtless, then all the sudden he has a shirt on underneath the control box. How does that happen.
We were so focused on Obi-wan’s reaction, or complaining about her knowing Vader’s name as a plot hole, that we didn’t even think about WHY she knew… smart writing tbh
Why should she matter? Obi wan bested Anikan and nearly killed him. Why should she expect any different? THANK YOU EQUITY, DIVERSITY, AND INCLUSION FOR GIVING US REVA.
