Today we're going to review the Analogue Tube AT-3 - boutique high end preamp. The AT-3 is based on classic tube designs from the 1950's with a short and raw signal path. We are also going to compare it to the studio standard Neve 1272.

Hey Christian, would you make a video in the future with GA8000 and the real C800G. As you mentioned before that your brother has one, so it would be cool to hear both. Seems like in the whole internet there's zero comparations between both.

Hey Christian, thanks a lot for this demo. Even on my iPhone I could hear a quite obvious difference in „richness“ in the AT3 recording. I‘m thinking about getting rid of my BAE 1073MPF for that unit. Where did you buy it? Do they only sell via their website?

@@Christian_svedin Just came across your other video on the WT-72 which also sounded really nice. Would you say that the almost doubled price tag of the AT3 is worth the money? I found that the WT-72 goes for only around 1000€ here in Europe!

Sounds good, really like the AT-3. Have you ever tried the TubeTech MP2A? that's my favourite tube mic pre.

I had one in my old studio. We never did any scientific a/b tests so can't really comment on that. I'll have a bigger tube-preamp test coming up which is going to be very interesting

@@markrussell6813 nice! I think I prefer the AT-3 to both D.W and Chandler. Large, open - fullwidth. Love the lowmid push also.
