As great as Nathalie is, I do wish she betrayed Gabriel a lot sooner than in the finale. Like, why couldn't she at least TRY to find Ladybug and Cat Noir, or anyone for the matter for assistance? I feel like she waited too late to the point in which she was helpless to do anything when she betrays Gabriel in the finale.
I really disliked this about the show. They never tried to find anybody. The good guys didn't try to find out where Mayura or Hawk moth, and the bad guys didn't try to find the good guys. There was one episode where Hawk moth finally used his brain. He used the Kwamis to find Marinette, but then he just drops it after being cataclysmed. Like, he knows the identity of a civilian that ladybug trusted. WHY IS HE NOT USING THIS INFORMATION. He knew Cat Noir liked Marinette and were more than just friends. AGAIN, why is he not using this information. They're all just dropped plot points from the show and made it incredibly disappointing.
The real answer is because she’s not a great person and people wanna say she’s a girl and she’s this and that, but yet she was an accomplice to a terrorist. The writers want you to forget that because in the finale, Bug Noire said Natalie is a victim of Gabriel’s madness when that’s a lie because she chose to help him, she chose to use the peacock miraculous to save him out of nowhere. She wanted to act like she’s caring to Adrian, but are we forgetting origins saying thank you to her she wasn’t even looking at him- but since Gabriel didn’t use the drive to give it to himself from the past, he didn’t save her, which made her turn her back on him because he didn’t save her from the sickness. Because surely enough if you would’ve saved her, she would’ve been using that peacock miraculous would help him to the end.
I really dislike the use of word “betrayed” in fandom in regards to Nathalie. She did the right thing, she stood up for what she believed in, when she realised that Gabriel has gone too far. Betrayal is something bad, disappointing a trust of someone. Going behind someone’s back. Gabriel knew that he couldn’t trust Nathalie in S5. She told him clearly in 5.01 that she won’t help him anymore. It’s not betrayal, it’s honest confrontation. Also, she couldn’t have done it earlier because up until the end of S4 Gabriel was more sane and there was more hope for him to see the light and stop being Hawkmoth. And Nathalie never stopped loving him, even when she disagreed with him, so it really wasn’t easy for her.
@@Owell_Owl There was A LOT of events that happened in that time period, a few episodes and a special. When Gabriel failed to use the flash drive, that was a moment of realization for Nathalie, it’s as simple as that. She says everything clearly in the final scene of 5.01.

I feel like Nathalie's relationship with Emilie is underdeveloped. We were practically told she feels sad that Emilie is falling deeper and deeper in her deep sleep in Stormy Weather 2 but weren't shown to what extent before or even after practically just telling us over a bunch of reused clips. It feels out of place when we are finally shown confirmation she cares about Emilie in season 5 so you start to look back on some of the more insignificant things she did as an assistant with confusion as you realize Nathalie had these recordings of Emilie saying that she knows Nathalie will treat Adrien like a mother would but she acts very professional around him regardless. It feels like certain things were retconned about Nathalie in season 5, where at first, you think nothing of it but when you think too long you start questioning so much about her.
Also Emilie is not being revived, Haze, Thomas has been saying the same thing for months insinuating that Emilie and Gabriel both disappeared. Plus the london special has her disappear from her coffin rather than waking up idk how you came to the conclusion that's Emilie from a vague interview. 😭

Before season 5 released I had a feeling she would turn against Gabriel after everything she did for him in season 2 and 3, turns out I was right about it.
Am i the only one who think nathalie cares for adrien pre season 5 like she convice gabi to let adrien go to school and celebrete xmas with him , she fought 3 akumatize ppl despite being sick to protect adrien , and she went to check up on him in kuro niko while wearing robot legs
Omg haze its finally time to simp over nathalie. Waited for this video for a long time now and its worth the wait 👍. Although i do have to say that this video was more of a nathalie simping video more than a analysis one 😂😂😂. Like i can bet that even thomas doesn't realise how good nathalie is written 😂😂. Out of all the redemption arcs they've done this season, (Felix, sabrina, Andre the mayor and ofc the legendary one and quite unexpected GABRIEL AGRESTE) nathalie redemption was really well deserved. One thing about her is that she is consistently written. And if she is not mayura, she still helps gabriel as nathalie. Imo, nathalie was someone i never really care about up until optygami and basically she is always the mastermind in gabriels plan (its good, but it also shows gabriel is stupid 😅😅). People talk a lot about adrien, marinette, gabriel, alya and most of the other characters, but not Nathalie 😭 which is weird as she is the gem in miraculous and nobody cares about her. I'm really excited for Nathalie's character next season as thomas said she is getting more development and not just a background character like S1 and 2. Haze, can u make a video about how Sabrina was written throughout the seasons bcuz personally i don't like her and i still think that she doesn't deserve a miraculous.
She’s a girl boss, but she still an accomplice to a terrorist so I don’t think she’s the best character. I think she’s flawed and that they did a horrible job on her character development in season one she literally had no emotion but it’s season five I feel like it was bad too for her character because her being on Gabriel side and being a villain as well, balanced out the story because there was two heroes now versus the two villains, aka (Mayura & HawkMoth) but all of a sudden they want her to be good and try to stop Gabriel, which is good as well but I feel like they did it in a bad way like she’s sick because of Gabriel when that’s not true true she chose to use the peacock miraculous. She’s sick because but if she was really a good person, she would listen to Emily from the beginning you know like she’s dead and she’s telling you to Gabriel be this controlling person but you’re allowing him all of a sudden you just wanna be good. I feel like they could’ve worked on her character in a certain way like maybe she doesn’t know he’s a monster and when she finds out, she’s like oh my gosh, everything makes so much sense, what Emily saying to her and whatever and her working behind the scenes being a good person and trying to fix her mistakes while acting like she’s still on Gabriel side she’s drawing away from him and it’s not even about her being bad like I said they could’ve kept her being bad but it’s random that they just wanna make her good for some random reason all of a sudden because she didn’t get her way with Gabriel flash drive
my view of her in season 1 is that she was meant to be unassuming so you DON'T suspect her, you know? but i think nathalie can acknowledge she did it to herself and rightfully be annoyed he didn't take the chance to save her when he did. like i don't think you'd be phrasing someone choosing not to save your life as 'not getting your way' XD you'd probably be angry

I mean, that’s the way I see it.
I loved her as a villain but S5 made a mess of things. She turns on Gabriel in Evolution specifically because he doesn't save her, which is good! Then she does the bare minimum, even still helping Gabe. Then they try tovshoehorn in a 'she always loved Adrien, she's a good mom!' and 'She was doing it for Emilie!'(Depite literally convincing Gabe *not* to give up at least once. Either Evil!Nathalie is true and this is a ruse(Good storytelling but I doubt it) or she has been Good!Nathalie all along and she is very bad at it.
To be fair it was obvious she had feelings for Gabriel back then, but I think she’s always been good.. I see lots of people complaining about Nathalie and her actions in helping Gabriel in s5 but y’all gotta remember Gabriel has every power in his hand to simply just fire her if she didn’t do her job, which would then leave Adrien alone with Gabriel, lose lose situation but helping Gabriel was the best choice here!
I agree with a lot of what you've stated in the video. Thanks for the constant stream of Miraculous ladybug content. The only thing I think about Nathalie and the decisions of the writing team. It feels off for them to kind of show her as one of the "good guys" so to speak. She hasn't really redeemed herself in my eyes. She's still just as self interested as Felix, to me they're written the same, at least emotionally. They did a much better job with Nathalie over the course of the show.
Ah yeah I think if she is going to be on the good side this season but if so, we do need some kind of redemption from her. Just being nicer to Adrien in s5 isn’t going to cut it
Haze, do you think Gabriel has romantic feelings for Nathalie, or is she just a temporary emotional support? I think that Gabriel really fell in love with Nathalie during their fight, but he convinces himself that all the gestures are platonic.
Honestly I’m not sure! There are points during season eg ladybug, miracle queen where I was like omg he’s in love! But it never seemed to go anywhere after that so not sure
i think she's an interesting and cool character, but i dont really buy her "redemption arc". she not only literally _murdered_ sentibug, knowing she was a living being but also only left gabriel when he didn't take the chance to cure _her_ not to mention that she doesnt show much care towards adrien throughout the show either. she told gabriel that adrien was chat noir in chat blanc and she knows about gabriel being monarch but kept him in the dark. her switch up only happens when she doesnt get the chance to be healed, but tbh shes completely messed up and thats why i like her. i wonder what kind of consequences she'll get in s6, if any.

I honestly think natile and Felix are tied for the best well written character I don’t care what you say about Felix he is one of the best well written characters aside from natile that’s why their tied in my opinion of the best well written characters natile obviously a little bit above but regardless their tied no matter what. As for how I feel about natile I really like her she might be my 6th favorite character maybe honestly before watching evolution or season 5 in general I couldn’t care less about natile or her working with Gabriel aside from mayura that’s the only thing I like when natile was working with Gabriel because mayura is an amazing design and natile kills it no pun intended cause of her being sick as for season 5 I love natile in season 5 she has more attitude in season 5 I think the wrestling scene in passion is her best scene every time I watch that episode I look forward to seeing that scene every time and in evolution as well her telling Gabriel how it is was perfect just perfect cause it was about time for Gabriel to get a reality check for once and who better to tell him off than the person who’s been there for him since day 1 perfect just perfect and the same for her in the rest of season 5 her being protective of adrien and adriens relationship with marinette telling Gabriel adriens allowed to date whoever he wants in emotion and obviously her threatening to almost killing Gabriel with a crossbow in the finale which in my opinion she should’ve honestly that would’ve stopped everything if she killed him and took the miraculous away from him that would’ve made the finale 10 times better than what It was because season 5 finale not great especially recreation for obvious reasons anyways overall I love season 5 natile she is definitely better than what she was before season 5 because before I could care less about her aside from mayura aside from her that’s it anyways in conclusion natile definitely is one of the best well written characters she is tied with Felix I don’t care what you say and she is my 6th favorite character so she’s pretty close to top five and that’s my opinion on natile❤
The best character in Miraculous is Juleka❤. She is honest and isn't lying and manipulative like Marinette. She has the best hair. Doesn't stalk Adrien. Isn't a villain and Nathalie is two faced woman. Was working with Gabriel and faced no consequences but actually I could have better opinion about her if only she would tell Adrien the truth about who his father is but no. She is lying to him as well. Is manipulative and actually she has no reason to be like that anymore. If she wants to protect Adrien. If she wants to stop Gabriel and hates Gabriel then she should be working with the heroes and tell Adrien the truth but she never did that! Still she is much better than Marinette and Gabriel.
