Hey Mark thanks again for another ripper video. You're overspending on the grease proof paper mate. I do my glue ups on an old piece of laminate from a kitchen bench top or some cheap office furniture or something - I forget what it was. Maybe I'm getting old. Anyway, glue doesn't stick to the plastic surface and it's dead flat. There's always someone throwing this stuff out on the nature strip or something so the price is perfect.

One option to go for instead of a miter saw, is a quality miter gauge for your table saw. Don’t have to break the bank with a super deluxe one that makes toast and walks the dog either. Even Incra has wallet friendly ones that are very accurate. Can also make a miter sled for the table saw. Only downside is that cutting long stock can be a bit of a pain in the ass. And it’s not as speedy as a miter saw. Pros and cons.

What was the 5th tool? Did I somehow miss this? Was it the jigsaw, or...? Also... thanks a ton for sharing your videos and knowledge! You are such a generous person! You and Jesper alone have given me so much newfound hope and inspiration, I cannot wait to get started! I've already got about a dozen pallets laying around ( assembled and disassembled ), as I've already found their repurposed wood to come in handy when it comes to making different things ( raised bed planter boxes and goat feeders/milking stands and stanchions to name a few ). Anyways, so glad I found you guys! Keep up the good work and videos mate! Cheers!!

Excellent! The skateboard shaped bench is well crafted & easy on the eyes. I really like the mitered apron underneath with the "Jasper Makes" inspired double-cut corner tenons. I too, have contemplated nixing the chop saw, that well made table saw sled has made me less dependent on the chop saw for cross-cut operations. The only thing I've found in working with pine: it does put considerably more pitch on saw & thicknesser blades. See you next time mate!

@@dainermade good morning Mate: pine tree pitch? Also known as “pitch”, tree resin is thicker, tackier, and darker than tree sap. [Deciduous trees do not make resin.] Usually collects on backside of saw teeth & router bits, & on space between thicknesser blades & frogs. Easily cleans with CMT FORMULA 2050 BLADE & BIT CLEANER [or some say SimpleGreen]. Tends to ‘make’ burn marks appear more readily from tool blades.

here's crazy idea could have expanded or build second shed don't need council approval for garden sheds or expansions to existing sheds would give some where better suited for cnc and engraver plus extra wood storage for when good pallets are scarce. sure your your work would be worth the investment into bigger working space. i got started 18 months ago skills aren't there yet to starting selling stuff but maybe one living an hr from nearest town will make things harder

Marion 3.0 is looking great, Mark - just on my way over to sub to your new channel. Only space I have for building is the kitchen and a 3mx2m space in the back yard when the weather allows (space v limited here in the UK) so no space for a table saw but I did stretch to a track saw - and a shop-vac to help maintain the matrimonial bliss on the kitchen days. Keep doing what you do and inspiring us all!

Care to show and tell what you build? I've done a workbench and bird table! :)
@ozzyeyre
@ozzyeyre 6 месяцев назад
@@arcadia1081 My latest build was a TV stand from reclaimed scaffold boards. The boards were cupped, twisted, and showed all the signs of being heavily used on building sites (cement dust, paint, welding burns, etc.). They were too far gone to try to retain their industrial look, so I took more than two days just sanding down the boards to 240 grit, getting rid of the worst of the cupping and twisting (no plane!) and then had my first go at cutting rebate joints with a track saw - not quite as easy as I imagined. Would love to build a workbench like you but, sadly, I'd have no room to put it! I think bird nesting boxes may be a project for the near future.

I would almost say it's worth it to build a small addition just to keep the space for that miter saw...i mean theyre so so very useful. Edit: do you think you could design some type of drop down table for your miter? Or maybe a roll over table? Maybe covert your catch table on the back side of your table saw into a rollover with the miter bolted to it so you can just flip it over when need be? It was heartbreaking seeing the miter get removed for a stupid CNC!

Looking at those 'screw down clamps', I'm quite surprised they did not use much coarser threads. It would take less effort to tighten things down, fewer twists of the wrist/arm. I'd also wager they would stay tighter, longer. But wow - so good to see a new video from you!! BTW - you could do a whole video on cutting those miter half joints; I'm impressed!

The glue will not stick 😀 Just gotta remember to reapply every few months.
