The sheik wrestled the giant in Toronto Ontario Canada in 74 .The sheik threw fire in Andre the giant's face. And was declared the winner after that attendance went down as people figured no one would beat the sheik if Andre couldn't.
@@aarontata5688 I know perfectly what I talked about. Patera, kaz and henry all have proven records to showcase their monstrous strength. Andre had none. Keep believing in whatever wwe shows u Or wants u to believe.
@@abhinavkumar547 I've said it before and I'll say it again...Andre didn't possess the same type of strength as say a Ken Patera or Bruno Sammartno. (Two Powerhouse individuals from that time frame) its a wel known fact that Andre didn't lift. His natural strength was based on his immense size. Exceedingly strong, yes. Capable of some of the feats of strength some believe...doubtful. Andre in a weight room would have been impressive without a doubt. But I'm willing to bet that mid 1970's, Andre wouldn't have cleared 500Lbs on the rack. Just my opinion.
@@Bushmaster10MM that's interesting but why do u think that prime Andre wouldn't have cleared 500 lbs off the rack? I know that Patera did 550 lbs overhead push press off the rack in his prime during the training for Olympic.
@@Bushmaster10MM Andre I feel was naturally the strongest pro wrestler without any steroids. Guys like Patera, Kazmaier, Arcidi who were accomplished strength athletes cum pro wrestlers were all on heavy roids. Bruno was certainly completely clean but i definitely think he wouldn't have been overall stronger than Andre. Yes, Bruno's pressing strength was unreal but i bet his pulling strength wouldn't be as good as Andre simply due to the fact that Andre possessed very long arms. Of course, we can never know about his full potential as he never lifted weights but his pulling strength was off the chart strong and his pushing ( pressing) strength was not that great according to Billy Graham. Even Ken patera commented about Andre's strength that had he took years off from busy schedule of pro wrestling and trained like top lifters and made good relationship with his pharmacists, he would have broken the world record in both deadlift and squat. As his pulling strength was great but pressing strength was not that great. Also Andre due to his very large size and long arms would have faced difficulty in doing well at bench press. According to Patera, guy was already near 500 lbs at that time without any lifting or drugs so what would have happened if he started training like strength athletes? Patera had said it about Andre in 1981 and at that time the world record in raw bench press and raw deadlift was 661.4 lbs and 887 lbs approx respectively made by Bill Kazmaier. The squat world record was of 10002 lbs or something like that by Dave waddington but with squat suit. Now, I can't say whether Andre with serious training like top lifters and steroids would have broken those records or not but we would never know. Maybe it could be possible because as Patera said that He was already 500 lbs naturally and for breaking the world records in squat and deadlift he needed to lift twice his body weight in squat and even less than that in deadlift and generally serious lifters do lift twice their body weight.
Both Andre and The Sheik had fought before, and Andre lost that bout despite being the aggressor throughout the match. It was the fireball that saved The Sheik from certain defeat.
That was when Sheik had a run of 100-plus straight wins at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto (where the match with Andre took place). Sheik was the booker for Toronto at the time and almost killed the business in the town because he didn't put anyone over.
