I suspect a lot of the time, even a hugely successful and talented team as Andrew Scott and Simon Stephens won't know for sure just how much they affect people, beyond the applause. It doesn't even need to be because they've had the same experience that they've just seen embodied. I'd bet there are a huge number of parents who're struggling with the pressure of home schooling, for example, who would actually be 'refreshed' (for want of a better word) by seeing Sea Wall.

The sad stuff, yes, I have made the mistake of rethinking about this play (having watched the filmed version a few days ago) and TV, film, like One Day, Fellow Strangers, and All of Us Strangers …in June 2024…because their emotional content is so intense and stories have sad endings, and are so authentically acted. 🐑🐑🇳🇿🇳🇿NZ
