Andrew Tate’s Empire Proves the Toxic Male is Thriving

Andrew Tate, the self-termed “King of Toxic Masculinity” who espouses polygamy and compares women to property, is certainly a reflection of the “toxic male’s” unapologetic resurgence amidst today’s “me too” backlash… but he’s also a result of our current culture-war-obsessed media machine, which values and rewards those who stoke controversy. So what specific version of manhood is Tate offering, and why is it selling today?

This part also really stood out for me. I think a part of this narrative of healthy masculinity could include what Barack Obama mentioned on the Art of Power podcast in 2021: being a good caregiver (as part of being a responsible adult), showing compassion, and being a good listener. He brought up these traits specifically in the context of functioning alongside others at the center of the story, especially in personal relationships and the workplace.

@@bblow6003 I hesitate to respond to this since I think you're trolling. To be completely transparent I haven't seen much of Andrew Tate outside of this video so I could be mistaken, but I'm skeptical that Tate's message is the same as Obama's when he views women as property. How can someone show compassion and listen well when he sees other people this way? As for your critique of President Obama, I understand that you're trying to paint him as a hypocrite so his opinion isn't valid. I'm also critical of some of the actions of the Obama administration including the number of civilians killed from drone strikes and his handling of the situation in Yemen. However, that doesn't mean that his take on masculinity should be dismissed just because he's a flawed human being like everyone. In other words, I wouldn't suggest emulating everything about President Obama just like I don't think you should emulate everything about Andrew Tate. Hope you have a good day!

As someone with autism, we are not taught the nuances of love, sex, and relationships because autistic men (and women) are often seen as too weird, socially aloof, or undeserving of women. I suffered this back when I was young. Being a black person on the spectrum in a black family was a hard and painful experience. My father and brother constantly belittled and tormented me for not conforming black and/or male stereotypes. (i.e., listing to rap and playing sports) At this time, my mom had died, and I was being raised by my dad. The torment followed me into high school as I had a staff member call me "a retard with no friends/social life" With the family element absent and lack or peers my age, and with the onset of puberty, my knowledge of romance and love was somewhat primal. I would simply go up to girls (a lot of them white, but that's just what I'm attracted to) and tap them on the shoulder and wave hi. Sometimes, I even followed them, and I would handle rejection very poorly, of course now I know that that's completely unacceptable. Men are told to be a jerk, get rich, get the hottest girl, and live in the world of decadence and opulence but that is merely a fantasy that a vast majority of men will never come close to getting, at least through legal means. I could go on and on, but I think I've made my point. Personally, I believe I'm a "late bloomer" that will find romance later in life, but I have A LOT of things to work on between now and then, least of which is counseling from all the years of abuse and pain. I've been more social over the years, and I have a car now which broadens my horizons and I have intentions in working in film, but all of this doesn't guarantee that I will find a significant other and, although I think its remote, I could very well be single forever, and that's ok.

Our society pits men and women against each other from childhood so is it really a surprise that success for women is read by men as a loss for them? Instead of, you know, a net positive for the world and the people they care about? Men have been told they belong on top by “God” himself (the men who wrote the Bible) and it’s tempting to want to feel special just for showing up but you’re not special just for showing up. You’re a person, in a society, and you don’t have a right to demand people live in a way that pleases you. You just miss out on real connection and meaning because all you have is insecurity and bluster.

Do you think women getting alimony has anything to do with women mostly staying home or accepting lesser paying jobs to ensure that household chores are also done, to ensure they don’t get left with nothing by men who can decide to just walk out one day? Fascists will make exceptions when advantageous to their agenda - but this will not last forever. The Nazis turned on the Soviets. The Italian fascists made deals with other parties and the government before turning on them and seizing power. This is also why alt right fascists will make nonsensical arguments that seemingly contradict each other, why you have so many conservatives both arguing for more government intervention for some things but less for other things. But they only argue with leftists about it, not each other. It’s because it doesn’t matter to them. What matters is gaining political power and winning. Here’s the trap leftists always fall into - we assume that hypocrisy is universally considered bad and go to great lengths to prove we’re not hypocrites. The right is happy to point out when we’re hypocrites. But they don’t care if they are - it literally doesn’t matter. We can call them hypocrites all we want but they do not care about that being there perception. They don’t care how they get what they want, all that matters is that they get to suppress minorities

Tate wasn't created in a vacuum. Just as girls are weighed down by vulnerability, which needs to be addressed, boys are vulnerable too. But that's ignored. And that male insecurity, which women dismiss because a guy is: short, fat, not wealthy, or feels weak, can lead to dangerous places. Hell, for example, on The Take, there was a segment about how all "nice guys" are predatory and feel entitled to sex because "they were being nice." After watching that, I was astonished! As a "recovering nice guy," I never felt entitled to sex. Any human intimacy needs to be earned, consentually. Toxicity isn't an inherent aspect of masculinity. I've seen a lot of toxic women in my life. Dismissing boys and men with personal problems will only open them up to guys like Tate.

Just like a girl with small tits will be considered bitter she isn't getting as much attention as the girls with big tits, boys have to deal with other boys looking physically better than them. Case closed. Girls get trashed on for being insecure and envious of big boobs. What are they told? To get over it. To just deal with it and stop being insecure. To get a boob job or to accept the over-zealous praises of small titty enthusiasts which start to get weird and somewhat pedo-y after a point. There's also no such thing as an woman ugly, just being poor. Men don't go for poor women, ever. They go for rich women who can pump money into their looks. IG models and Kardashian wannabes. They want a literal rich princess without being or putting in any effort to be a prince of any kind. They won't even glance at a poor ugly girl they see everyday, she'll be invisible if she isn't extremely sensual and/or hot in appearance. And yes men feel entitled to a relationship just by being nice. Just because you don't doesn't mean most don't either. You're not every man. I trust most other women's experiences with men than I trust one man to overwrite those experiences with his own insecurities. Plenty of women like short or fat dudes with small dicks. Just get over it and find a woman to love you for who are. All you have to do is look at celebrities - women are required to love men for who the are regardless of what they look like, even when they're both rich. Men HAVE to go for the hot women to "be happy". That's why "I like her for her personality" is a meme, because you're talking about how hot she is. Men are superficial af and they're mad women are too now. Deal with it. Men don't deserve manic pixie dream girl princesses just because they're nice.

But that's what the take suggests at the end of the video, right? That society should crete a new image for men where they can be vulnerable too. And still it's not only the societies fault. Men who think they are entiteled to anything coming from a woman aren't just made by evil society. That a man gets dangerous because he or parts of him are dismissed by a women are not her fault, but his. And that you get dismissed because of your body happens the other way round too - I don't see why this argument gets made over and over again, while women are getting judged for their bodies or their behavior all the time as well.

@@Forestnight7 That's not exactly the reality though, is it. We live in a time where every body size of a woman is applauded - especially if a woman or adolescent girl is obese. She's admired. As a Progressive, I'm saying that the Far Right takes this seriously - and unfortunately - steers boys in dangerous directions. Not to defend Andrew Tate (like seriously though), but it's foolish to speculate his popularity is solely related to men just wanting to be toxic misogynists towards women. Usually, with people like him and Trump, there are legimate injustices that are sprinkled into their extreme ideology to attract their masses. Even I, who consider themselves to be a major advocate for gender equality and the rights of the LGBTQ, have heard him make legitimate points about how men are generally treated in society (especially the unattractive and unsuccessful). The popularity he has achieved is mostly through his controversial clips where he seems to talk shit about women. This draws a particular subset of men, increasingly large, that equates success and material wealth with being shit to women because “wtf do they know about being a PrOvIDeR”. It’s very very obvious WHY men get drawn to him because there are plenty men on the internet trying to teach you how to earn money and success. But his personality is a cult and a large part of it is “women are stupid and subhuman and I get to treat them as such because I am rich” and that is attractive to men. “I get to sleep with whoever I want, no consequences, because I am rich”
@paulneligh5095
@paulneligh5095 Год назад
@DesiCat again, not to defend the guy because he is a toxic POS, but I don't think (as a man myself) men think women are subhuman and that's why he's popular (and making that statement kind of adds to the schism). Just like there are injustices for women in our society, there are also injustices towards males that linger from a forgotten era. Let me give an example - in my state men get custody of their children in divorce 28.3 percent of the time. As a father myself, there is no fate worse in my mind then getting to see my kids a 1/4 of the time but, solely because I wad born with a dick, the chances are much higher that happens. Now, I'm happily married to my wife so I don't have to worry about that, but that doesn't change the fact it is more likely to happen if that no longer is true. Why should my time with my children have less priority because of my gender? There are other examples, of course, but it's examples like that which drive men to people like Tate. When issues like that are given less priority and cede to gender equality initiatives that favor women at expense of men (instead of both being done in tandem), it loses potential allies and dilutes the cause of gender equality into female empowerment at the expense of men (if that makes sense?). I don't know everything, though (clearly), it's just an observation I've made.

Well it's the culture culture, so duh. Whatever society deems as being the worst thing ever, certain kids will by reflex interpret as also being cool. Their brains aren't always developed enough to accurately judge if it actually is bad or not, so they only react emotionally based on how they feel about this society. And to be fair, sometimes the kids are right. Boomers were right to be against war, and then millennials were right to be less bigoted. Right now many boys are feeling alienated - their childhoods were robbed from them by lockdowns, and all their career prospects might be robbed by AI - so they're reacting by embracing a counterculture that tells them they're actually fucking awesome exactly how they are.

I also became aware of this individual about over a week ago and I can say that with much research and watching 4 hr long conversations to grasp where he is coming from, I can't judge him badly for his views but instead I explore them as a valid measure against modern society. And just why do you think these men are weak that follow him? I thought that was the point, to encourage them to be men and not sissys to be equated to the woman who his biological identity reasons his existence to protect. I agree with the cam girl point, I have observed. I extract what's good and subject the questionable. The problem is, women want men but expect men to be like women so that they can compete equally. And the sad truth is that propaganda has fed this idea into society. Again ask, just why do you think men who seek out masculine support are doing so (weak men), why they giving ear to the likes of Tate, Jordan Peterson, Dave...etc. Mostly, those who are attacked by the media (propaganda), the god of this deluded world. I do think that there are extremists such as Tate because of personality traits, but how else would you correct a snowflake mindset among young men? Radical intervention is necessary. It might not be entirely correct, but its a good start in the right direction. Abused men (weak, emasculated) will abuse women and children because they are not taught how to use their biology to build societies but rather demonized for their biological ability. Then on top of it you have this senseless weak woke army of sheeple pushing the agenda fed to them. Give a sports car to an irresponsible person who doesn't know how to drive in public roads, and you have a recipe for disaster. Teach the man to be responsible with his power and you get attacked by doing so. People need to be open minded and learn from successful ancient societies who lived according to their God given nature. But no, follow the trends set by your abusive rulers and dare not call you a slave. Here is the real issue to be attacking, not hating an individual for his personality behind a valid message. Oh yes, the messenger must fall, how could I forget. Make an example, keep them in line. Sorry Jesus.
