The Andy James Flow Jumbo Pick makes every note sound rich and powerful-perfect for the modern fretboard virtuoso's complex compositions. Made from toneful, durable Ultex, this pick features a uniform bevel that makes playing almost effortless. "It has vastly improved my accuracy, technique, and tone forever," Andy says. "I can't use anything else. It's the most perfect precision tool I've ever used."

I love picks so much. The materials they can be made of, colors, designs, aesthics. A wand to a wizard, a bow to a bowed instrument musician, a pick to a picked instrument musician. It's such a personal thing.

It’s been three years. This is my go to pick for 99% of my playing. It is incredibly comfortable, and durable exactly as Andy describes. I’ve been using one single pick for three years straight with no sign of wear. It’s pretty crazy considering the couple dozen variety of picks I have laying around the house I only use one. If you are even remotely interested in playing guitar just try one, you may find it’s one of the best investments you’ve ever made. Thankyou Andy James

I’ve been playing these picks for several months and I love them! They are so comfortable to play and the feel is so smooth and fluid. I still use Jazzlll picks sometimes but I can amazingly switch between pick styles without any problems dispite the size differences. I’m so thankful to Andy and Dunlop for having these picks designed. I won’t be without them as long as I’m playing!!

Finally! This is EXACTLY the pick I have wanted!!! I love the 208 shape and size, but never liked the pick attack sound on the higher strings. So I've been using the 2.0mm Ultex Sharps wishing they were the shape and size of the 208. I shall be buying many of these Andy James picks!

Just got a set of these and it’s all true. I used metal picks but they are too rough on my guitars. These are the basic shape I used on my picks-with a pronounced bevel and sharper point. The shape is perfect, the size is perfect and the attack is the best I’ve heard in a plastic pick. Thank you, Mr. James! These are now my pick of choice.

My new favorite pick!!! Haven't changed picks in 20 years... used Jazz III's. Jazz III Carbon was my recent go to. Can play way faster and cleaner with the AJ pick. I realized (for me) Jazz III is too small and pointy for transitioning from downward pick slanting and upward pick slanting (Troy Grady). This new pick is perfect! The thickness and leverage offered allows a lighter pick grip. I tried EVERY Flow and I think this one is the best if you shred. Not as bright as the Jazz III but warmer. Cuts through the "strings like butter" is fact and great grip with no raised features.

i haven't used his sig but i have used the flow now in 2 and 3mm. I've played various jazz 3's the last 10 years and have been really happy with them until i tried the flow picks.. they actually have a noticeable difference in attack and fluidity especially is you alternate,hybrid,sweep. jazz 3s really need to hit the string with the point or its dull but the bevel on the flow makes it useful from any angle. it was pretty easy to adapt to the bigger size as it is the same shape as a jazz 3.

It's quite funny, i used to use 0.88 picks, then i switched to a 1.38, now I've been using it for a year, and tried to switch back to a 1.0 mm, and it felt like I didn't have as much control and precision as with the 1.38. With the 1.0 i wasn't really commanding the string, with the 1.38 i were 100% having full control and commanding my strings, as andy said in the video. I haven't tried his pick, 2.0 mm is something I haven't used for 8 years, but I will give it a shot

I've been on a similar pick journey to Andy for the last few years. Constantly changing sizes, shapes and thickness. I'm on the D'Addario Acrylux Nitra Jazz at the moment, a great pick but need bigger, thicker but the same response off the strings. I'm going for the 2.5mm Jumbo Flow so hopefully they will do the trick and end my quest :)

So the new line of flow picks was his idea? So if you find john or james’ pick works for you, but you don’t want to use a signature pick, the regular flow picks of the same gauge are the same things right?

@yiheng5076
@yiheng5076 5 лет назад
There are 2 kinda of regular ones despite of sizes. The Flow Standard and Flow Jumbo. Flow Jumbo is tje same size as Andy's pick while tje Standard is the same as John Petrucci's. The only similar difference of the regular and signature ones are the grip texture. The regular ones got a raised grip while the 2sig ones are only hot stamped logo. Bt trust me. There is a slight difference tjough same size, same gauge and same material

I almost like the Flow Picks. But for small hands it's too small. I love the thickness and other parts but if you have stubby fingers you need a longer pick so you don't have to move your hand as much to reach more strings. PLEASE make Flow picks that are larger so there's more to grab onto. Personally I like at least 2 mm.

I know they slide through the string with nearly any friction, but that chirp is crazy. I've actually gone back to tortoise Fender extra heavies. Working really good for me, not much chirp, good glide. The rounded tip is actually nice and I've played mostly pointed picks since 1982.
