Andy Murray vs Novak Djokovic: Wimbledon Final 2013 (Extended Highlights) 

True deserved winner: the old man who carried BOTH their raquet bags at the beginning.

That last game was from a different planet. Both players hit an incredible level. Great memories. Novak a class act at the end, big respect to him. He knows how to deal with defeat in a dignified manner and that is always the sign of a truly great champion.

Murray's best ever performance. He was completely in the zone, and nothing that Djokovic could do, as great as he is, was enough. To go from a 4 sets defeat the previous year to beating the World No.1 in straight sets the following year, was quite an achievement. If it wasn't for the severe injuries Murray has had, and long spells of very invasive surgery and recovery, it is easy to see Murray would have chalked up a few more slams

This final was technically Novak vs The whole of Britain.

I remember watching this, I was stunned at all of the sprints and dives by Murray to get back every shot, he was so determined to win. It was inspiring!

One of if not THE most epic final set I've ever witnessed in my lifetime. 3 (consecutive) championship points came and went. 3 break points for Novak also came and went. Novak was 1 overhead smash away from the 4th break point but Andy saved it and got his 4th Championship point which he capitalized.

2022 and I still get goosebumps when I'm watching this video. Long life Sir Andy Murray!!!!

This is my favorite match of all time. Murray’s tennis iq and deep ball hitting is phenomenal.

Murray was so determined in this game and with the backing of the crowd I genuinely don't think any player alive would have stopped Andy in the 2013 final.

I like Murray as a player, and I hope he can return back to his top form. Surely, he was unlucky: he has played at the top level for so many years, and when he got n°1 and he was dominating the circuit, he had the hip problem.

Like most of Briton in 2013, tears came to my eyes when Andy won . It's a shame injuries have plagued him over the years as he would have won a lot more tournaments including grand slams. He was really the only player to keep the top three at bay. Sadly his about 37 now and after returning to the tour after a few years out, his losing in the first or third round or whatever. His never going to win majors again.

I like to rewatch this once in a while, it’s such a tactically strong match from Murray, kept the ball deep on basically every shot and served brilliantly. Plus holding his nerve at the end!

I remember this match like yesterday. If Murray lost that final game I feared he'd have lost it and the match. Such a shame his career (effectively) has been cut short since 2017, as I'm sure he'd have halted the progress of the Top 3 in terms of slam counts. Don't forget he finished 2016 season as world number 1, won the ATP finals, Wimbledon and Olympic Gold.

Andy Murray is Djokovics toughest opponent on grass. To beat a Djokovic at his best as he was in 2012-13, in straight sets is remarkable. I rate it as the best performance by any player against Djokovic.Murray's groundstrokes were brilliant, and I think Murray actually has the best double handed backhand in the game. 2nd best performance against djokovic is nadal vs djokovic french open 2013 final.

Andy Murray played the match of his life to stop the in-form Djokovic. When Djokovic had multiple break points in the 3rd set, Andy made sure he will never say die & that too playing at the torching heat was not an easy task at all. “Incredible” is the only one word which I can think of to describe Andy’s performance in that final. Truly deserving to win the title. Nevertheless, he could have won more & more grand slams like Federer, Nadal & Djokovic.

I watched this as an Andy Murray fan and it was fantastic he won Wimbledon. The year after he repeated this.

when i was watching this, i thought Djokovic gave this title to Murray...it seems like it.

To do it by beating Novak, in 2013... I didnt quite appreciate how immense an achievement it was at the time.

Match of Andy Murray's life. It's the only Wimbledon final Novak has ever lost in 8 finals hes played here (soon to be 9 in 2023). And the final game showed just how tough it is to get past him in a closeout game here. Same thing happened in the 2019 final, Federer serving for it, seemingly cruising, but Djokovic gets back in it. Only difference, Andy managed to squeeze out the hold, Federer couldnt and went on to lose. Had Andy got broken, that might have been all Novak needed, Andy might not have recovered from that mental blow. Novak is so good at just taking complete control in matches like that after being that close to losing and handing his opponent a massive mental blow like that. Djokovic will unquestionably be the GOAT once he and Rafa are finished their careers, but Andy really deserved this win. Novak and Andy are only 7 days apart in age; they grew up together and are great friends; Novak knew what this meant to Andy. And he didnt hand it to him; he made Andy EARN it and he absolutely earned it.

Murray would have cracked under pressure and he was already goind dowhill in performance, he would have not stand a chance in a 5 setter with Djokovic, Murray made a fantastic game to not lose that set
