It gives the public the opportunity to discuss proven examples of Tory tax avoidance, and theft of public funds. Absolutely astonishing situation that this can turn in to a real story, when the tax affairs of multi-millionaires are not.

Why should anyone that isn't under suspicion be forced to hand over personal files. All this shows is that she's hiding something otherwise she would not hesitate to prove her innocence.

Rayner did buy it to make a gain.

Rayner was a member of the Labour Party at the time and was sleeping her way to the top of one of the unions so should have been paying the higher rate. She has lied repeatedly and said this was 15 years ago, it was 9. She also committed voter fraud by lying about what property she was living in to try and avoid the capital gains. So she has been fully caught out.

She has come clean, to the authorities who need to know and they have cleared her. However, she has not told YOU or the Express/Mail etc.

If its the only home you own you can sell it and not pay capital gains tax. Lots of couples who owned property seperately do exactly this and she sought advice from a tax advisor, plus the Police already investigated and found no wrongdoing. So what new evidence do the Tories have? None. This is a smear, and given the plummeting levels of home ownership in the UK, now at just 50%, its clear the Tories no longer believe in or support working class home ownership, and god forbid a working class person buys a home and then makes a profit on it. The final absolute betrayal of Thatcher's legacy. This is now wholly a party of investment bankers and slum landlords, the kind of people she hated. Angela Rayner has no duty whatever to disclose tax advice she obtained in meeting her financial obligations. I'm vaguely interested in the details but I dont have any right to know (especially as forner enquiries have found nothing of concern). Conservatives throwing stones at others for questions about relatively minor amonts of tax seems laughably risky, given that those stone-throwers are all living in houses made of glass.

She sought advice from a tax advisor and also its already been investigated once and cleared by the Police. The Tories have supplied precisely no new evidence. This amounts to the Tories attacking the very principle of working class home ownership, since they came to office in 2010 home ownership has plummeted from 73% to 50%.

The important fact is that it’s already established that she didn’t break the tax code. But additionally, this was 15 years ago, 6 years before she was an MP, and this is the only thing they can find to attack her with. It’s pathetic.
