Hi, I am so glad you pointed out that she is a normal teenager after all. Nobody should take that away from her. She has the right to be like everybody else. Many have covered this song over the years, but none come close to Angelina's version IMO. She has been singing this difficult song since she was 9, and only seems to get better and better with it. This latest cover is just perfection.

The word “perfection” often comes up in my mind too when listening to Angelina, but just as often I think it’s not the right word. Angelina keeps getting better. She invents new ways to amaze me. I really don’t know how to call that.

My Funny Valentine This is my 97th time listening to this MASTERPIECE and each time I experience a new level of perfection by our ethereal prodigy extraordinaire, Angelina Jordan. When you listen to the A cappella portions of this performance at the very end of the song you are truly experiencing the genius of Angelina Jordan’s PERFECT PITCH. Sinatra, rest in peace Angelina Jordan, the Bare Foot Queen has taken the crown and there is nothing like her in the universe. When I first heard her perform this I put it on pause and brought up Sinatra, Bublé, Streisand, Fitzgerald and Vaughan's version of this song to compare it to AJ version, and none of them moved me like this version. It is so hard to comprehend that Angelina from 7 to 16 is the greatest story telling being in my 74 years of experiencing great vocalist and I can't wait for the rest of the story.

Christi, the fact that Angelina is a seasoned veteran, who’s incredible voice is still developing, at the age of sixteen years old is putting the industry on notice. I have heard countless reactors say how much they love hearing Angelina sing jazz because no one else is singing this type of music anymore. Angelina is single handedly revitalizing the jazz genre. She is also introducing jazz to the younger generations that have never listened to this genre before and they’re enjoying it.

Great reaction. Saw her first time in London at the O2 concert for Quincy Jones - she wasn't even on the program but opened the show. Have been hooked ever since. Look forwards to seeing her in Norway on 10th July - will probably the last concert I can afford before she becomes a mega star.

After listening to this performance many, many times, I am struck by the resonance in the final, prolonged notes. However these notes were captured technologically, the resonance just reverberates in my chest and carries me away for a few seconds to some other place...a place of magic and calm. There is so much dynamic range in this performance...it will become its own classic among the many hundreds of recordings of this timeless classic! Bravo, Angelina!

It has been almost a year since Angelina released 7th Heaven and I have to believe she has many original songs completed. Angelina has promised her angels a album this year and we hope it will be before her concerts in July. The BIG question is, will her family give Republic the green light on promoting her when the album is released? Time will tell.

Between singers with this immeasurable amount of tools and talents (there are really few artists who can fall into this category) there is a fine line that distinguishes the decision between "I'm going to use this song to show my vocal qualities" and "I'm going to use my vocal qualities to make this song shine". Fortunately, Angelina's wisdom and musical genius are not lost in this choice, she will always choose the fair share of quality and talent that the song deserves and will add her quality of empathy to convey the deep feelings and emotions that the song transmit to her. That is her greatest value and what will remain most palpable when the music lovers of the future revisit her legacy. Angelina is so special; most people don’t quite get the fact that she has had this talent from birth and now is only 16. She has this unique breathiness and growl! I pray I live long enough to hear her at age 30. Rob Christie (a Grammy winner himself) lends so much to this performance! I love Angelina Jordan Astar (pun intended).

I can’t get enough of this performance. At 72 I have never experienced this kind of reaction every time I watch this video. To be fair I have several other songs by some fantastic performers that I never tire of, but Angelina hits me so many times with so many songs. Like so many other AJ fans I can’t explain why except she has the whole package. Talent, personality, originality, inner and outer beauty and BRAINS! In an interview, Angelina said Billy Holiday was her favorite jazz singer. Angelina did a rehearsal video of Billie Holiday's " I'm a Fool to want you " when she was 11. It's like Billie Holiday is reincarnated into this 11 year old girl. Live in one take. Pure Jazz at its best. You will be amazed again. Take care. Looking forward to more reactions to her.

The thing is, when you listen to both versions back to back, it seems clear to me she was imagining this ultimate performance in her head ... the phrasing, breathing and structure are almost identical. At 10 she made a wonderful effort within her abilities at the time ... six years of vocal maturing later, she's finally been able to achieved the dream. I'm going to see her live in July ... Christi, I always enjoy your video's, particularly when you react to Angelina. Most of us who are out in the bleacher seats somewhere love to listen to her and she touches our hearts when she sings for us. Listening to you gives us a opportunity to understand what is going on, what we are listening to and what she is doing is way beyond her years. You are telling us, sure, she has a gift, but she works very hard at her craft and there is something else going on which can be labeled "the unknown" and that's her changing voice. I think this rendition of This song is Angelina’s masterpiece. I mean that in the original sense of masterpiece, an important work by a mature journeyman providing a show of multiple traits of mastership in order to attain the title master of a trade. Great take! I'm no vocal coach or singer even, but to me this performance is so outstanding. Just unbelievable. I have always maintained that Billie Hliday is her most influential source of inspiration. Of course I loved Billie Holidays music and singing long before I heard Angelina sing. Angelina herself have said she considers Billie Holiday "the queen of jazz". We, Angelinas fans, have considered Angelina "the queen" for a while. now. She became qeen at a very young age. Still it's no doubt in my mind that she will continue to develop and mature both musically and technically more for some time still. It's just hard to imagine how. At least for an untrained ear as mine. Great reaction and break down again. Putting the spotlight on several details. Thank you! 🙏

I love both this jazz standard arrangement she did & I also love the full version arrangement she did when she was 10 in 2-14-16 filming of it by her grandma Mery, just sitting on a chair & no mic, just her voice. very beautiful. Hey Christi, could you please react to Angie's concert from Proysenfestivalen 21.07.2017 She's 11 & it was amazing concert. Frank Sinatra's drummer, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field, and bass player, Chuck Berghofer accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show that aired Dec 23 of 21, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra. The main pianist, a three-time Grammy Winner, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, and the Eurythmics was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. (If you want to find out who these individuals are, and their status in the music industry, look them up.)

I started watching the music video, but stopped after a few seconds and restarted, to listen without looking at the video, only at you, christi, for the same reason you'd mentioned. Her voice is divibe, but the visuals here do not add to it, in my opinion. I love watching her sing, but here the visuals were redundant to me. Of course, this does not intend to talk down the artistic aspect of the clip, or to say she should do without it or not experiment with whatever music medium she wants! She should very much be all that she is!. This was just to state my personal perspective about the video clip. No question that the vocal quality she has is absolute treasure trove of depth and texture. She's a remarkable young lady.

It was just amazing and she’s certainly a lovely young lady. I might have enjoyed live singing, interspersed with “glamour” segments, a bit more but, I’ll listen a few dozen more times and get back… ;)

Hi Christi, I always love your reactions. I love this rendition of “My Funny Valentine”. Angelina has such an incredible talent. She has an incredible ability to communicate emotion through her singing. I would love to see your reaction if her most recent cover of Suspicious Minds (Elvis Presley). Thank you for this beautiful analysis: very interesting! I will not get into the technical details as you covered those much better than I can. I agree this seems to show a big jump in her growth. I love this version: she sings it so so beautiful and she takes me a away to a time of before, relaxes me and of course makes me smile me with my heart. My feeling about the video is also that she is showing a store she loves and like to show to us. Of course the vintage objects fit this classic song. The version you used has artifacts in it (the high whistle tones). Boris explained it was due to repeated encoding. Hi, I love your reaction channel.. actually for me, it would be boring for her to do a whole album of jazz, even though I love jazz/ Blues Soul music. she has already been there and done that as a pre- teenage prodigy. Me also knowing that Angelina is way to talented and versatile to be just pigeon cooped into one particular genre.. AJ has the ability to hybrid mix and match different genres/ singing styles together at will.., in effect, making her own style of music but still giving you that old school jazz Soul feel mixed with the New and current.. yes AJ reminds everyone of some of the greatest/ earliest jazz/Blues singers from back in the day till present day but if you really know your early jazz singers , they was also the most Soulful and versatile singers and sung in multiple different styles and cross into different genres of singing that gave birth to most of the genres of music we hear today.. in the modern era, Angelina is a continuation of that process.. the early jazz/ Blues era was just Angelina starting point as she was a prodigy pre teenager in that genre.. Now as a teenager fast becoming a young adult, I fully anticipate her taking music old and new school to New Levels.. she has started doing it already low key, mixing/ combining genres from old to the new wile her older fan Bass is still stuck in The passed and only like the old style music she does, Angelina is just way ahead of her class/ time and generation and will bring the music forward but sometimes come full circle to remind her fanbase were she is coming from without being stuck in the past.. that’s the true act or meaning of being a Timeless artist.. Timeless don’t mean stuck in the past sounding outdated or stuck in one particular genre or timeframe of music, specially if your still young yourself and growing.

Can't wait to see this reaction either. I just want to touch base again with you hoping you do (falling in reverse I'm not a vampire revamped)! I really think it well blow your mind. On a few different levels. Also for some context without spoilers it's about his drug addiction from the past. And it's so clever how he uses the vampire being addicted to blood as symbolism for an actual drug addiction. That's all I well say. As always love your content. Have a great day :)
