To the down-thumbers. I feel you. Teary eyes, shaking hands from watching something that really questions core elements of physics, wave theory and acoustics by asking "where is the resonance volumes hiding in that tiny body?" It is not easy to hit those tiny thumbs on a screen. I mean, this content creator shows off impressive musical memory by remembering her older self from a silly talent show some few years ago (and since this is internet - do not be triggered - I was not saying that her performances on the show were silly at all - youtube is so trigger-happy one must cover all bases since forever). When she was on AGT she didn’t win because Simon offered her a lifetime contract. And they turned him down that’s why she didn’t win. She was also asked to go on AGT she didn’t go on the show because of her own wishes she was asked to go there. She won Norway’s got talent when she barely turned eight years old.

"I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video). She starts low, rising in intensity throughout and finishes in an unexpected and practically operatic style. I have to admit... I am hooked on the Angel ever since I heard her sing. And I must have listened to this particular song about a 1000x's along with the rest of her songs. But now I find myself just viewing all of these to see the reaction that people give when listening to her for the 1st time. I am getting hooked on the reactions. I guess you didn't notice the number of views this had; she has been out there for many many years already; and she is only 15 now.

We will likely never know the truth, but the rumor is that she did not win AGT because her family refused to sign Simon's contract. She did sign with Republic Records in 2020 under a contract much more favorable to her than Simon's. She is only 15 and she and her family want her to have as much of a normal childhood as is possible with such a prodigious talent, so she is not yet being heavily promoted. There is an album in the works, and all of us Angels are anxiously awaiting its release.

Thank you for your genuine reaction. Here is an introduction to Angelina for you and your viewers who might not be familiar with her. Angelina is Norwegian, her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. Her father is Swedish, her mother is Norwegian from a Japanese father and Iranian Mother Mery Zamani who is a poet and a painter and was a child prodigy in her own rights. She started singing at the age of one and a half when she fell in love with Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”. A year later she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and showed lot of interest in artists like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, and Louis Armstrong. Angelina pestered her mother to enter her in “Simons Show” as she called it from the age of 3. Her mother relented and entered her in Norway Got Talent at the age of 7 where she auditioned with Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. She went ahead to win the the big prize at the finals where she received 46% of the votes while the remaining 9 finalists combined received 54%. Angelina said she likes singing because she wants to bring joy and love to the whole world. One of her dreams from a very young age was to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She accomplished that at the age of 8 singing Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World. After winning NGT, she was flooded with offers from major music labels as well as Disney but they were all turned down by her and her family in order for her to continue her education and to protect her artistic integrity. Her uncle/manager in an interview last year he talked about music labels top executives who would fly to Norway on private jets with huge contracts offers but would leave mad and frustrated because they never expected being turned down. Angelina is fluent in Norwegian as well as in English. She also speaks some Swedish which is very close to Norwegian and probably learned it from her father. She also speaks Farsi which she learned from her grandmother as well as some Japanese that she picked up from her grandfather as well as her mom and uncle who lived for a period of time in Japan. She actually performed a Japanese song at a concert in Japan. Most of her performances after NGT were for charitable children organizations where she helped to raise millions. At the age of 6 and while travelling in another country with her family, she came across a young orphaned shoeless girl who was weighing people on a bathroom scale for some coins in order to support herself and her siblings. After chatting with her for a while and without prompting from her family, she gave her shoes to the orphan girl. She recorded that incident in her diary and vowed to always sing barefoot when doing that in public to remember that girl and to remind herself and us about the many needy children around the world. At the age of 9 she wrote and published a book about that encounter making her Norway’s youngest published author. Proceeds from that book are donated to children charities. Angelina Jordan has about 140 songs in her repertoire. Late last year she signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist. Her versatility is unmatched. So, not a home recording as you can see, studio production with a full Jazz band for this 9 year old girl, which may tell you something about the immense talent before you. She was 9 years old in this one, about a year after she won Norway's Got Talent, and she was already a fairly seasoned artist. She didn't write the song (it was written by Screamin' Jay Hawkins i 1956), but she did rearrange it. You saw her in AGT The Champions.

You should see her covers of Feeling Good and It's a Man's World. Your head will explode. She has made over 130 covers, and wrote five original songs.

Thanks for the response to Angelina. We are lucky to be able to follow a megastar that is created for us. And yes she has 1000 vocal voices that she is known for. She is now on the same record label as Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift. She was signed 14 years old to Republic Records. They can only press the button when they want to start, but I think they still take it easy when she goes to school and is only 15 years old. But such a large record company probably already has plans for the future. Angelina has over 600 Million Views on RU-vid and over 2 Billion Views on Facebook overall on her videos.

Yeah, this is totally unbelievable because she arranged it and controlled every aspect of this performance, and for a 9 year old to understand what she wants at this age is not understandable. Yes she was on AGT Champions because she won Norway’s Got Talent at 8, and it wasn’t even close, she won with 46% of the vote in the finals out of 10 performers! She didn’t win AGT Champions because she wouldn’t sign with SYCO, she has now signed with Republic Records, she’s now 15.
