I was able to promote Angelina last night to a friend at my grandson's graduation party. He happened to mention having a music background but had never heard of Angelina. I told him to first listen to I put a spell on you, so waiting for him to get back to me as he was going on a trip. I have promoted Angelina to family for a year and a half. I do the same every time I get the chance. I went in last week for skin surgery, and since I had a captive audience I told the surgeon and nurse all about Angelina. They both said they were intrigued and would check her out. I'll ask in 10 days when I go back to have the stitches removed.
When you think about it for a minute, few ever have one of these under their belt, very few, yet she has many! You throw down a dozen performances that leave people speechless, It put's you in another realm. She has probably 20 of these by the age of 15. She gets better, more creative and original. Angelina is 9 here and she sings in English! That's her third language. You know she's from Norway. There, everyone speaks Norwegian. From the age of 6, Angelina read and sing English texts and understand what everything means! She is amazing in many ways.
She was only 9 years old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, an American singer/songwriter. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. The differences may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. There may be a subtle change in tempo or tone, or more inflexion on some words, or a phrase may differ in pitch from the original. The amount of control that Angelina has over her voice cannot be measured. She never hurries a song. She sings in such a way that the emotions in the lyrics are felt by the listener. In this video, did you notice:Angelina finishing some notes and handing them to the music director, who smiled as he read them? Lastly, did you notice how the "performing" Angelina, singing at a level of maturity far beyond her years, suddenly became a 9-year-old child almost instantaneously once she finished singing. Hi Travis! Your reaction was very genuine! I had a feeling you'd be impressed with this one! I've heard her sing this probably a hundred times at this point - it just doesn't get old. She's amazing! You've got a lot of new AJ fans as subscribers now, and you'll get more and more - they will steer you well to your next set of AJ songs to react to. Pick any of them - as I said last time, every one of them is special and will impress you differently. Seems she can do anything - and she's always incredible. But if you're still taking votes, I suggest "Feeling Good" ("LIVE on the Stream Gir Tilbake") or "I am still holding out for you" - it's a demo she cut at 10 years old when the song writers were shopping it around (not really a cover). But since she doesn't own the rights to it, the video is not actually on AJ's channel. The artist that bought and recorded the song (Baby Fuzz) has no issue with the version that's been leaked though. It's a really good song in general, and AJ's version - well - it's AJ. Angelina was 9 when this was recorded. She was playing piano, violin, and flute at age 5. At the very least, I know she also plays guitar now. She does her own arrangements, including the music for this performance. You haven't heard much about her for a reason. At her audition for Norway's Got Talent at age 7, a cameraman caught a shot of her mother Sarah in tears and it was commented that she must be so proud. Sarah responded that she was in tears because she knew she had lost her daughter Angelina to the world. There has been a steady stream of music executives into Oslo ever since trying to sign Angelina. Her family has tried to insulate her from the music industry as much as they could in order to give Angelina a chance to have a childhood. That may be on the verge of changing. Republic Records (Taylor Swift, etc.) signed Angelina last fall. We are all looking with great anticipation to a formal release from her.

Great reaction! What this is, is jazz mastery from a pint-sized (here at least , Angelina is neatly 6 ft tall now) musical prodigy! It is truly a conundrum when we try to rationalize how it is possible that this tiny sweet-faced 9yo Norwegian girl can step up to a microphone, flip some switch within her, become this "beast-mode" version of herself (most probably named "AJ don't play"), deliver an extraordinary and musically and socially sophisticated performance, then just-like-that return to the pensive young lady once again... There aren't words for this! "I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video). She starts low, rising in intensity throughout and finishes in an unexpected and practically operatic style. You must go and listen to Hawkins' original (and throw in a couple of "famous" covers as well) to see the true genius in how AJ incorporates many of his vocal elements [usually omitted by most singers]. This shows another aspect of her musical IQ and arranging genius (not to mention her masterful control of her vocal instrument equaled by few others regardless of age). Angelina Jordan is The Natural, the girl with perfect pitch and timing and a voice that makes one believe all the greats from decades past got together in heaven to create it. Her musical instincts are off the charts. Her arrangements are the work of a genius. She is easily my all time favorite musical artist as I feel her music far more than any other.

Yes, Travis, she really is that good. Her family kept her sheltered somewhat to preserve as normal a childhood as possible for the best young singer in the world. Now, Angelina has signed with Republic Records and has released several videos. They are all amazing. She’s 15 now, so you can forget the child singer label. She is the best singer I’ve ever heard, and that’s applies to many genres. When you said that I Put a Spell on You is now her song, you were right. Try to forget that she’s 9 and ask whether you’ve ever heard a better version. And that music behind her that you liked? That’s Angelina’s arrangement. Her covers make you forget the original recordings. Don’t get hung up on recommendations. Pick a song or genre you like from her 140+ videos. At any age-she’s that good. But I’ll put in a plug for my current obsession: this week, Angelina released her jazzy cover of Billie Jean. Her arrangement, her musicality, her incredible voice startling you again with her originality and her confidence to give you something out of your previous comfort zone that will leave you slack-jawed and shaking your head. Angelina is truly once in a lifetime, and we are lucky to be here for it.

My favorite song from Angelina? Started to think about it but gave up. It soon became a list of at least 50 songs. His name is Dimash and if you haven’t seen him I would love to see you react to him!!! He’s a young man from Kazakhstan, fantastic and jet humble and down to earth of stage. Travis, sir, here is the story to this video, pieced and puzzled together from comments, interviews etc.. Angelina was 9 years 2 months, and already a superstar in Scandinavia and East Asia. Her parents rented a recording studio, including band, for her. I suspect, it was rented by her father, as he has a different name. AJ rearranged the song to her liking and gave it to the studio boss with the words "this are my wishes". As you see in the beginning, he was skeptical, but seeing what she had done, his respect for that little girl grew. She had introduced herself with a handshake. I think, she told her full name, not her stage name. The same goes for the rest of the musicians. They thought it was a gag or joke for that little girl. In interviews, the band members told, that after only 30 seconds into the song, they knew, they knew!!!, who they were working with. The arrange-ments, the voice and the good manners. Angelina Jordan Astar, Norways National Treasure (no joke), superstar of Scandinavia, was standing with them in their studio, singing her heart out. Wow. From this day on, she was, lovingly and mightily adored, nicknamed THE BOSS. Today in 2021 musicians all over the world, use this nickname, when speaking of her. She is highly respected in the music world. How else, can it be explained, that people like Sir Elton, Dr. Mae, Mr. Ronson, Mr. Quincy Jones thanked her for her work. Today, she has a ton of friends, as Omer Bhatti and the Jackson family, Quincy Jones, Heidi Klum, Nora Jones, almost every musician, she ever worked with, and last but not least His Highness Crownprince Haakon of Norway and the rest of the royal family.
What should blow your mind is that no one arranged this song and got her to sing it for them, she arranged this song and sang it the way she wanted, she also directed the musicians to play it the way she envisioned, this is all her, it’s not just some little kid they brought in as a gimmick, this is her artistry!
I love our incredible and fantastic princess, it seems really impossible but every time I listen to Angelina again in this song, and by now I have really lost count of the hundreds of times that I have done it ... By the way, after subscribing to your channel yesterday and enjoying my chat with you, I went back and watched most of your previous reactions. As a Pentaholic since 2011 (I voted for them in the Sing Off right after they formed the group), I have to say that I think your reaction to Hallelujah was one of the best I've ever seen. Your expressions of wonderment and joy were priceless. You didn't say much, but your face said everything. Keep that enthusiasm, and this channel's subscriptions will mushroom. Also, I would like to recommend my favorite cover video ever for you to review. It's Radiohead's "Creep", performed by Post Modern Jukebox, featuring Haley Reinhart as vocalist. She is probably one of the best singers alive, and she transforms "Creep" into a Jazz masterclass, full of sultry growls and belts, including one of the longest, greatest belts I've ever heard. She placed third in the tenth season of American Idol, but has gone on to become a better singer than any of the previous champions (except for Kelly Clarkson possibly). Regardless, I will continue to anxiously wait for any and all reactions you provide us!

I said 'no' because I don't think it looks like that at all, and that's not her personality at all either. She absolutely respects the other musicians and give them their time and place in all her live performances.
Our little angel with a thousand voice's rewrites an rearranged every song she does. That is what she gave the producer on that paper. When she has a band or backup they call her boss.
If you weren't amazed enough, this is her interpretation and arrangement. How many young singers are creating their own interpretations and arrangements? Those notes she gave to the conductor were last-minute "wishes" for changes for the band. You have a beautiful journey ahead of you if you explore her catalog.

Your reactions are fun those facial expressions say a lot! She began arranging her own songs at 8 years old on Norway's Got Talent. She opened it at 7 and 5-6 months later had turned 8 and every one of her 4 performances are worth viewing. My recommendation for a newbie is "FEELING GOOD", Live on the Stream Gir Tilbake version at 10 years old live on stage with a full jazz orchestra and televised nationally in Norway. My favorite song which I only recently decided on is "I'M Still Holding Out For You" also at 10 years old. She demoed for it in 2016 but it was never released for unknown reasons but it was discovered in 2018 and uploaded on YT so the cover on it says "leaked". Lovin' your stuff!!!!
Have you seen her at 6yrs first time in the Studio??? Her Rendition of " I Who Have Nothing " is so good. When she performs she pays Homage she looks up and Channels the Performer. There is another video at 10yrs singing a song By Baby Fuzz called " Im Holding Out For You" thats Fantastic.

I love that I found this channel. I am also amazed that you have yet to hear the best male voice of our time and maybe even of the last 100 years. Dimash Kudaibergen. I see you have a lot of BTS and BlackPink, I also love the Pentatonix and homefree videos especially but they are just a flickering candle to the brilliance of Dimash. His performance of "SOS" performed at the Slavic Bazaar is an absolute must as is his song title Olymipco, (or as it is also called Ogni Pietra), sung at "WorldSkills Kazan" 2019. If you think you are in any way prepared you can just think again. He is called the World's best singer and for good reason, Again thanks for your channel and its variety of music, thanks for your personality and bright smile. SO glad to have found this channel.
OK, this is my favorite "first time hearing" reaction to view! Everyone is just as amazed as I was when I saw it for the first time. In fact, this is how I often find reactors. One of my favorites from Angelina's younger years is "Stay" and another, if you haven't seen it, is "A Million Years Ago".
Great reaction! Really enjoyed watching. I'm sure others ("Angels" as she calls us) have already said so, but "We told you"! As for what to do next, there really is no bad option. Some like to do more of a chronological series where you can watch her growth and development. (Rusty Shackelford has "the" definitive listing of her songs on his page). Or you can continue to skip around as you have, again there are no bad choices. I have listened to her every day for almost two years now and it never gets old. I have never had that experience with any other performer, or band. Iv'e always gotten burned out, but not with Angelina. She truly is a gift!

Angelina’s birthday in January 10th. She is currently fifteen years old. She is the the most uniquely gifted and talented young artist out there. Her vocal versatility is unmatched. She was speaking four languages by the time she was nine years old. She plays several instruments, writes and co-writes her original songs, she composes her original songs and she writes the arrangements to her covers and original songs. She is the youngest Norwegian citizen to have written a book and have it published. She was nine when she wrote her book. Every Angelina would tell you that when Angelina sings you can’t help, but to be completely mesmerized and emotionally drawn into her performances. Angelina is a force of nature that has no equal.
