Angelina has stated that she has written about 100 songs that have yet to be released. Her songs are taken from her Journal writings. When she was 10/11 she rewrote the Lyrics to Amy Winehouse's Back to Black and Rehab to make them more age-appropriate.

Thank you red, the beauty of AJ was with her from a tot in every way it has remained with her right up to now at nearly 18 yrs old. she has had my heart from the first time i discovered her and it has just grown and grown , watching this again (for the well I've lost count it could be a 100 times sometimes with her it could have been 500 times or a 1000 times) but it brought tears to my eyes but like always a smile to my heart this is the impact that she has, not just on me but so many of us, this beautiful soul just radiates joy and love and it is contagious. What I love about her lyrics, besides how profound they are for an 11 year old, and her love for her little sister, is how she emphasizes good over bad at the end. Yes, love life for all the good and the bad. But then she highlights and elevates "the good" while understating "the bad". It's brilliant!
Excellent point. Most 11 year Olds (she was 11 when she first sang this beautiful song) are complaining about most everything. Angelina always has a positive outlook and finds the beauty in life.
"We come, we see, we go...", then sums up her song at the end with the expression of taking the good in life along with the bad. What other 11 or 12 year old writes lines like a Greek philosopher!?

PRETTY AS always Ms. Red. Although my house is in Maryland, my ranch where I spend most of my time now is in Oklahoma... and we tend to say "All Y'all" when there's more than one person. lol. I can relate to the piano having that "All Time Revival" sound lol... grew up in some of those kind of churches myself, many, many many years ago.

Angelina’s message is consistent in many of the songs she’s written. Life may give us good and bad, but center on the good and be positive. As you noted, it’s a surprising, reflective message from a very young girl, but we all understand that Angelina is special in many ways. And aside from the message, the music-the cadence-is not at all what we might expect from a young songwriter. The beautiful vocal runs at the end are nuanced, jazzy, and sophisticated. This casual session is one of my favorites where many qualities that make Angelina unique all come together.

At fhus point she had already participated in song writing conferences where they always emphasize starting from your personal experiences. At age 12 that doesn't encompass many external conflicts, especially for a child as protected as Angelina. This was a good exercise for a girl looking back on 10-11 years and it's so warmly expressive of her musical influences.

Thank you,for another heartfelt reaction to Angelina singing her first original song. Although she is singing it at the age of 12, she wrote it when she was eleven. Simple words by an 11-year-old child describing the things that are important to her at that age, but when one listens carefully one realises that those words are of great emotional depth to which all of us can relate. For me, that a child can so clearly tell us in simple words what is important to her is remarkable, and then when one listens closely realises that those simple words describe an intellectual and emotional depth which is certainly unusual in one so young.
Not to be missed is Angelina’s earlier version of this song, performed with the Armed Forces band of Norway. It was added to an album where Angelina joined forces with the “Army band” to celebrate their 75th anniversary. They included this original song of Angelina’s and I believe they worked on the musical composition part together. The album is available on iTunes (among other platforms). I liked the middle section where her voice got out of the lower range. I was wondering why the friendly pianist introduced her song instead of herself. And then I realized that she was too close to the "hot" mic.
