When you go into prison that young, it doesn't matter if it's 15 years or 25 years; your life is over no matter what. No career, no passport, no family, no normal. A life of worthless breathing.
You need to tell your children: Never get involved in a crime with anyone else because that ringleader may have an agenda you don't know about or signed up for. That person will not tell you for example that he or she plans to kill somebody--that plan will be presented as a fait accompli to you.
What kind of twisted individual could attack a sweet old lady. They didn't even need to do it, they could have simply robbed her and left. Even lock her in a room somewhere and get what you need and go. But only a true sociopathic scumbag would take the time to murder someone unnecessarily just over a little bit of money.

I mean if I was just the look out and you decided to go kill someone I'd be quick to try to distance myself away from the other defendants the best I could. Its strange when they try to jam you up for shxt you werent involved in... on paper, they kno all the shxt they are throwing at you is rebukable so they ask you to turn State or "Offer you a deal". If the Police got you, they dont offer you shxt, they lock you up and wouldnt give a dam about you unless your jail mate told you intel they needed some years later. What happened here is the system not giving an F about a black sista. No way a 3rd party should be locked up, if I kill someone, I'd respectfully do the time... but she was wayyyy to far from the action.
that's the law on paper. lookup the model penal code. if you're accessory to a crime you do the equivalent time as the person who decked the elderly in the face. whether that's fair or not, well, yeah.

What's not so funny is that her sister got the same sentence as her, even though she actually helped beat the old lady to death. I thought she shouldve got life without parole as well.
Such a very sad end for an elderly lady who must have thought life troubles were behind her. I feel for her family too. Would like to think their conscience would torment them but they would have to be human for that. hope they rot.

Anyone who would do that to another human being without sufficient cause especially an elderly woman who was defenseless, they all need a trip to the gallows, as they are beyond redemption or reclamation. The relatives of the victim should be given the right of first refusal to spring the trap door beneath their useless feet. The millions that will be spent on them while incarcerated is a horrendous waste of taxpayer money and could be much better spent.
It all starts from the beginning from growing up in a bad neighborhood already. Getting pregnant at a young age, dropping out of school ,not having an education, feeling like the world is all against you, raising up a child that has a bad attitude as you do. Blaming everyone but yourself

they only sentenced her to set an example, she couldn't afford an attorney and also didnt' take their offer, this child's problems stems from the environment in which she was raised, we dnt know if she was coerced to be a look out, but the fact of the matter is that she was in a compromising position and did nothing to help the true victim, you can only hope people learn from these incidents and ask that we look upon our history to understand why we have come to this place, (where children are lookouts for criminal activity, and why justice sentences children who have no childhood to loose what is left of it) the only thing i can seem to infer is that action must be taken in every situation, and dialogue must be taught to our youths.

My condolences to the family of the victim. I don't understand why the judge denied her getting another lawyer, and why she got 25yrs just to be a look out, and how is 15 yrs a deal. I agree it's not fair, but then again life is not fair.

It is your responsibility to exercise responsibility accordingly and know the laws in your state. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse.
