Tom is a lot lot lot like Sting. He grew up. His voice changed. He's not screaming punk songs any more. I really love this - he sang and played within his ability. But the words are magic.

People saying this is just pitch correction, no, its not. Yes obviously its there, but Tom is sober and he isn't slurring at all. He is saying every single word clearly. There is a massive difference to Tom singing acoustic to when he sings live because when he sings live hes drunk as shit
All the songs are tuned down in these sessions right? Really does wonders for Tom's singing performance, this is probably the key he should sing in, just listen to "The Invisible Parade" or "Anomaly". Just fits his voice so well.
Honestly, help me out here. Based off your comment. This is one thing I’ve never understood. Im 31 yrs old, ive been playing since I was 14. My first bands first show was at the 9th grade jr high talent show, we played dammit lol and kicked ass. But still, I’ve been in several bands, written dozens and dozens if not hundreds of songs, most of the time I coordinated the whole thing, I showed my brother the drum beats (and he tweaked it in his own way to make it his own) I showed my buddy the bass lines, and then I did the guitar and vocals. But my question is. Wtf does it mean “this song is being played In A” “it’s usually in the key of C or bla bla” what does that mean? In all my song writing I’ve never known what key the song I’m writing is in. It just sounded good. I know music and I know what sounds good. But I don’t know much of music theory. Like in this song for example... does it even matter that there playing in A? And if so why? I’m so confused on what “key” songs are played in even means. Say a simple song goes G, Em, C, D. Does that mean that the song is being played in the key of G? I do not understand this part or music theory. Please help. And if friggin Tom DeLonge can figure it out, I should be able to. Lol. Please help.
The song is being played in A meaning that the song is mainly played revolving the A Major Scale. That means all the Notes & Chords will contain the notes that pertains to A Major ( A - B - C# - D - E - F# - G# ). Of course there might exceptions to these in any given song, but that's the main reason. So in your example of G - Em - C - D, yes that is in the key of G because all those chords are all made up from the notes in the G Major scale. Hope this helps. @@doink2u69

Back in 2007 we have AOL Sessions... now we have Amazon Music Live and a entire generation of artist that came up from RU-vid or Spotify... Even a lot of the MySpace generation artist have solid carers now, i feel old haha
David is still in the band. He's not doing any of the press related things for The Dream Walker because Tom and Ilan were the only two people to work on that album. Tom said in a recent interview that David will return when AvA start touring again

I really don't agree with Tom on a lot of his politics/world views, but I know he is trying to push what he thinks is the best for humans, and there isn't anything wrong with that. That should be all of our goals and so what if we disagree. These kind of songs really show that passion he has for doing better than those before us. Thanks Tom for all the inspiration you give us. You've gotten me through a lot of hard times
