Animal Crossing: City Folk - 1-Hour Bug Hunting Gameplay Session 2024

Here's a new one-hour gameplay session of a late-night bug hunt for July 2024. This is my first proper bug hunt of the year in Animal Crossing: City Folk (ACCF) for Nintendo Wii. It features my thoughts and tips in on-screen text, but no audio commentary. I also chat with many of my villagers, and try to save one of them from moving out. Sit back and relax (or grab your net and play along) and let's catch some valuable bugs! At the end, I total up the bells I earned during the session.

Sorry, but 0:38 should say "This is Nana's house, by the way." I accidentally typed Peanut, because that's the spot where Peanut lived in my Wild World town. Oops.

This game looks so unbelievably cozy. I owned a Wii but I never got into AC until New Leaf came out. New Horizons was also another I played. I wish they'd port over this game, something about it just makes me so nostalgic.

I love doing that I recently started playing New leaf and I do night bug hunting every night. Tortimer's island is a huge saviour to find bugs

I really loved all these games as a kid, but I don't have time to play anymore (not to mention my brother has our wii/gamecube). I like watching your videos because it feels like I'm playing while I'm at work

This reminds me of the time I was replanting all my trees for “the perfect town” so the only ones that had spawns were the palms. I pulled an all-nighter catching rare beetles for bells 🥹

I became so veteran of this game until the point I can literally know if a shadow of a big fish in the ocean is a sea bass or not lol. The shadow of worthy fishes is always bigger and long as an arapaima. If it has the size of a dorado, is a sea bass guaranteed, so you should pay attention the next time you catch an arapaima to its shadow

Big fan of these longer play sessions, I'm nauseous as hell today and so I'm just laying in bed watching this and it's helping me relax a little. I just wish City Folk let you sneak up on bugs like in some of the other games, I'm always afraid of walking just a little too fast and scaring the bug off, haha.

back in 2017, i caught my first taranchilla, i've had my town sense i was about 11 and i play ACCF on the wiiuu sense you can play wii games on it

I finally reached 100 million bells in New Leaf yesterday, I got an ABD from the post office! I thought I'd get the gold badge from Phineas today but it unfortunately raining (and Phineas can only show up if it's clear skies, right?).

Wow, it's been a long time since I've seen someone mention those old rumors. As far as I know, there isn't any truth to them.

How is your grass so thick? Mine is sparse and patchy

The best way is to make paths and stick to them as much as possible, avoiding walking on the grass except when necessary for a fossil or other dig spot. Also, plant flowers on the dirt to help it regrow faster.

If you're asking about the golden tools, they generally have to be earned. Catch every fish/bug for the golden rod/net, maintain a perfect town for the golden watering can, etc. The golden axe requires throwing axes into the fountain (and a lot of luck), and the golden shovel comes from just burying a regular shovel in the ground and leaving it overnight. If you're asking about the golden furniture set, it was distributed as DLC in 2011, so you're probably out of luck.
