The visiting feature is nice, but I wish you could turn on a "do not disturb" while in your own home. I've been interrupted countless times while trying to decorate my house. If they visit, you can't place, pick up, or move items. You also can't do any DIY. It drives me nuts when I'm in the mood for it, but can't do anything because Tia (it's almost ALWAYS Tia) shows up to give me an orange. If I'm in a side room, I stay still and ignore them, but if I'm working on my main room, there's nothing I can do. EDIT: Just saw your other video about villager visits. I know a lot of people find it annoying but I actually like it a lot. It can definitely be an inconvenience (like one time I had just placed a table in front of my door and was about to move it and what do you know, Vivian comes for a visit and was trapped in my little walkway until she decided to leave LOL) but I kinda like when my villagers bug me, it’s cute
Yeah I would much rather have had Gracie return than animals pester me about my house (or theirs for that matter) and give me junk I really don't want or already have to sell for a few measly bells!
Just a heads up: This activity NEVER happens if you have customised your villager's homes with the happy home designer DLC. My guess is that this is with the intention that players can't festoon their animals' homes with objects like Redd's art to make it easily obtainable. However, if you want this feature back after customising an animal's home, you can complain to Isabelle about the state of your animals' homes and she will reset them back to standard.
I think it's a mechanic. Decorated homes I guess class as their dream home if you think about it. Thats why its called "Happy Home Paradise" which could be argued it is a holiday home but if you can bring it back to the island it's a perfect home.
I didn't start playing New Horizons until after the update, and I'm surprised it wasn't already a feature! Used to be one of my favorite activities in New Leaf to visit and have visitors. So glad they added this! And more people need to know about it. Thank you as always Mori! 👍
Islanders coming over to your house from time to time started out fairly cute, but now I hardly spend any time in my house because I'm worried they'll come over and interrupt whatever I'm doing. (You can't redecorate when someone is visiting, and it feels rude to leave when they're over.) The villagers don't seem to visit when you are upstairs or down in the basement though.
Huge correction: you CANNOT take any item you like. There is only a single item they will actually sell. You can check every other item and they won't offer it to you. They'll say something like "I can't sell that!" unitl you select the correct item.
Just imagine you go over to someone's house and they're like "Yeah, you want this dining table for free? I could always use another spot for my trash cans."
I'm so glad they brought this back, I feel listened to. I'm not too bothered that it's not "Flea Day" like the good ol' days of WIld World, just the fact it exists is enough for me. Bye-bye bad furniture.
I remember a villager asked to buy my sea bass (pre-2.0 update) and has been on display in their home ever since. When I got the chance to get invited in their home, he refused to sell me that sea bass! Ugh i just wanted to buy it back as it was an eyesore in their home. So are there items we cannot buy from them or was it just RNG? Hope someone knows 😁
From what I've heard, if you have the DLC after you reach a certain level in it you can go to Isabel and tell her to reset your villagers house and it will take EVERYTHING out that didn't originally come with their house.
This is helpful whenever you get villagers from other islands that would display clothes that was given to them by their original island resident without having to redecorate their entire house. I was able to clean Lily’s house by removing furniture/clothes that they isn’t part of their original design.
Two things I've noticed: 1. before one of the post-update patches, villagers would allow you to repurchase items you gave them, but wouldn't sell anything that came as their default furniture (including with starter homes); after one of the patches, there was some dialogue added, where villagers would express reluctance to resell something you gifted them. 2. I've redesigned several villagers' homes and none of the villagers, whose homes I've redesigned have offered to sell their furniture. IDK if this was a condition set with the redesign mechanic, but it felt to me like it was (especially since these were villagers, who invited me to their homes/ sold me stuff several times).

I really liked the flea market mechanic. In New Leaf it changed and you placed items in Nook's to be sold. Which wasn't bad. But I prwferwd the flea market
Does anyone keep getting the same DIYs over and over again Like I actually get tired of playing the game. I feel like everyday it's just the same thing every single bottle I pick up everything single balloon I pop is the same thing over and over again.

I'm currently collecting photos, so unfortunately, this has become an annoying feature, as I'm constantly turning down offers to hang out at my place or theirs if I already have a villager's photo. And now, when I go to my house, I run straight into a room off the main one to keep the villagers from popping in unannounced. I don't HATE that this is a thing, it's just... unfortunate.
My first villager, Rowan offered me his furniture when i visit his house.......twice. he did it twice. And the first one i bought his bed. After a few days i felt bad and bought him a new one.
Biff wanted me to buy something and the only thing he really had was his sleeping bag and he was so sad to give it up so I immediately gave it back and felt better once he put it back out 😂
That's just him inviting Mori to his house. I don't think villagers can request remodels. It's only up to the player. I know since I had that dialogue before
There is one thing that isn't mentioned. Sometimes, when you visit a villagers house, they will give you a song. I've gained Hypno K.K. and K.K. Synth from that lol
You see while buying furniture from your villagers is cool, its already too late because with crafting and then buying stuff from Nook shopping the feature becomes pointless. Also its RNG weather the villager is interested in selling furniture to you and since there no flea market event in this game it makes it even more harder.
This happened to me when I was visiting deli, I wanted his water dispenser but he said he wouldn’t sell that item, so I tried his bed but he wanted so much for it so I skipped that, then nothing else in his house really interested me so I left lol.
If you continue to touch a piece of furniture before they say anything they will eventually ask you if you have your mind on anything in the room and if you say no they will say I swear I saw you messing with something over there
My villagers never want to sell anything to me after they offer, lol, yes I have the highest level of friendship with them. Plus they are rather annoying as I say yes to all invites it seems I cant get a lot done before one of them is running up to me.
Drift once offered to sell me his stuff but every item in his home it kept saying he couldn't get rid of it. Was super annoying. It may have been because it was a starter house because hes my starter villager
I am not sure why you would use this feature when you have Nook Shopping and Crafting already in the game. Feel like this feature should've been in Day One. Man Nintendo really screwed this game up.
Villagers won't part with everything, I tried several times to get Lionel's BLACK round bath with lights (can't remember what it's called) I only have it in white, but he would never sell it to me 🙁, ah well have to find another way to get it 🤔😉😁
@@MysticPyroFreak Yeah I know but it was just that he invited me over a few times and he wasn't willing to part with it, anything else I wanted I could have just not his bath, which I thought was quite amusing so when I decorated his "1 small room" I gave him his bath back 😆
You have to run and press the button to enter the water at the right time and you'll do a little flip. It only works off the rocks or edges not the beach sand
