it was written in 2018. in an interview they said that they did an episode about the olympics, and then got worried cuz there were no olympics and it screwed their plans
Also I think COVID delayed the release of this season cause all the elections jokes suggests they thought it would premiere some time before even we would know the outcome. Also the Halloween episode probably meant it was aiming for mid to late October release

Wait til you hear his voice in Season 2 of the show. His voice is outright _stunning_ at times! It's even more impressive because Yakko has some pretty difficult songs in Season 2, but Rob absolutely KILLS IT!
Easily the best part of the entire episode. The song feels like it could have been plucked out of the original show, just with modern references in place of 90s references.

They didn't edit his or Tress' voice for Dot. Must be because they should sound slightly older. Jess Harnell has Wakko down to a science, so they probably stopped pitching him once he tweaked his voice for him after the Ringo impression

This song was amazing! Animation was funny and the lyrics were clever! And the last part was perfection in a nutshell! For everyone whos wondering why they sound a bit diffrent, Ima explain. Tress and Jess both both have wonderful singing voices, voice acting or not, the only reason why they sound diffrent in some parts is becuase they both switch to their normal voices depending on the note or word, you can notice it in the origonal shows songs too like LA Dot or the new years song they all sang once. For Rob, he did a great job as staying as Yakko through a whole song in the origonal, he is a professional. I actually had no Idea he could sing like that by the end of this song, it made Yakko sound a bit older but it made Rob sound younger not gunna lie. My guess was that he was slipping to his normal voice while trying to stay as Yakko, or his voiced just changed through out the years. Anyhoo, there yah go!
This show was a perfect reincarnation of the old animaniacs. It handled the time gap perfectly. It would have been the only reboot that was worth watching and making and a perfect continuation of the old one... If they hadn't replaced almost the entire cast, it would have been perfect, and represented what reboots should be. And this isn't just a nostalgia thing, I'm 14 and binged both of these on Hulu.
The only thing they got wrong was the Clunkers show. That got axed before the premiere in light of recent incidences of police brutality...sad, I know.

I believe that the system is in need of reform and that things should primarily be up to the people, not the governmental bodies. A lot of the songs are educational earworms like that. They once even sang one about Lake Titicaca, and I will forever know that "it's between Columbia and Peru."
The thing I love about Animaniacs is that they can make a completely bizarre reboot that breaks the 4th wall constantly and hits on serious subjects comedically and still seem like a completely normal continuation of the original series. But then you got Teen Titans Go which is also made by WB that literally just took a show that was completely unique and original in it’s own way and made it into an Animaniacs wannabe reboot. But the difference is Animaniacs is actually funny where as Teen Titans Go isn’t.
