@@Razuki5Made in Abyss is simultaneously beautiful, horrifying, heartwarming, and depressing. Jesus Christ the emotional whiplash this show gives me cannot even be described.
"We can probably make it better." Bananas that begin turning brown are because they basically think they can get riper than peak ripeness. Some anime studios think they can make their anime better than it already is. We need less anime studios trying to be bananas.
I just wanna point out bananas do in fact get riper than peak ripeness. Browned bananas may not be as pretty as perfectly yellow bananas but they are still good to eat. In fact browned bananas are used in banana breads and desserts like sorbet, cakes, muffins, frostings, candies, tarts, ice creams, etc. and the argument would be made that browned bananas are exponentially more useful and more flavorful than a banana at what people consider "peak ripeness". its the texture many cannot tolerate, which is why you change it into something else that taste better, looks better, smells better, and more filling.
I make skits just like CalebCity. Ik I might not be at his level but I bet 100% it’ll make you laugh. If it doesn’t I can totally respect that you can come back to this comment to tell me
@@26mic how about instead of giving you views before we came back to tell you, we just tell you to stop spamming straight up, because doing it this way immediately makes me not respect you or want to see anything you do.
At least tokyo ghoul tried something different with like an alternate reality where kaneki does the opposite of what he did in the manga, but promise neveland straight up ripped 2 of the best arcs and just slapped a band aid with huge amounts of exposition leaving you with like a wtf feeling.
I thought it was gonna be about how they blow their animation budget on making the first three episodes look amazing, then have to pretty much turn the rest of the season into a visual novel
Fullmetal Alchemist is probably one of the only few anime that successfully pulled off being able to deviate from the Manga with still good reception, but even then, that was when the manga wasn’t done yet.
Episodes 8-13 of the Stardust Crusaders OVA is a great example of adapting the series with more realistic talking. That said, it certainly carries a moodier tone with those fantastical elements subdued.
I watched the anime (both season 1 and 2)and saw nothing wrong with it..but everyone saying that they cut out big chunks of the story from the manga makes me kinda sad..😔
@@geekix_6209 Really!? That's impressive lol. I do the same thing when I get hooked on something I like. I'll try to find the manga and have a go reading it.
@@slobertooth1358 Jojos generally has very poor animation quality, and except in the parts where the adaption basically did its own thing, has very weak direction. This is because it does the awful modern trend of using a manga as a storyboard, but it goes way further than most things do. You might as well play the OST while reading the manga, its mostly a better experience. Its a huge flaw of the show. This is why the original part 3 OVA has much better direction, although it has its own problems.
@@fearedjames I wouldn’t call the animation poor at all its about average to above average overall, I don’t get why you think it has weak direction though artistically they compliment each part perfectly while still making changes that make it translate smoother as an anime while still being faithful but not to a fault. I can’t speak for each part since it has been a while but having watched part 5 most recently after reading it several times before it even came out they did it more than justice overall. An anime doesn’t have to be moving 24/7 to be a good anime you have to strike a good medium that still feels like an anime without ruining the source material and I think it does that very well with vento aureo. Is it demon slayer or JJK level of animation? No, but David Production uses its animation where and when it needs to if anything that shows that they have good direction and don’t ever feel like they are expending their budget, there is never a major drop in quality in a jojos from part to part or within the same part. Also while they Ova had decent direction they did not capture the artstyle, feel or flow of the fight anywhere near as well as the anime/source material while having better animation in a lot of areas.
@@ooo4709 The 3d seasons are about as solid as a wet fart. They butcher the story from episode 1 by introducing Isidro in the Black Swordsman Arc, skipping the Lost Children arc and since that didn't happen Farnese has no reason to chase Guts.
I also "love" when they switch around the plot so that a heroine or side character is introduced way earlier than their supposed too, makes it a pain in the ass to read the manga and have to suddenly deal with the absence of the heroine or side character OR certain people suddenly not knowing the heroine or side character.
@@Problemsolver434 No it's not, Some anime in order to speed things up or keep things interesting have certain characters introduced way to early which fucks up the story line alot and unneeded original filler is needed to make up for the characters early introduction.
It's possible to change a story to make it better, but only if you know what you're doing. Honestly if you really want to get it right then the original writers should probably be involved in the process.
Yeah thats what oda does for one piece. he tells them what to add. like that extra fight scene where king stopped sanjis kick with one hand. Oda approves of shit like that
“Lets feel it with more fan-service. Remove mc inner thoughts entirely so he would feel like plain harem protagonist. Also cut interesting characters from two different arcs oh and also lets not explain the second power system in understandable way”. -JC.Stuff when making A certain Magical Index.
"Alright, we have a little under half of the original series to work with. If we take it at a good pace, we can make multiple good seasons with all these hype arcs to work with-" "Best I can do is 1 season."
Yu Yu Hakusho is a great example of deviating and changing. In the first arch, there was a lot more of Yusuke as a ghost, where the anime cut most of it and just kept it an episode and a half. And also the 3 kings arch was much shorter in the Manga, but the anime made it longer to flesh out some of the ideas from the manga. -Not sure if these 2 examples completely count but oh well.
The anime was still very good but the tone was changed Like the series overall had a darker tone in terms of its lore and the current establishment. The only thing the anime touched was Chapter Black and the Black Black Club What I meant is three examples: While Yusuke wasn’t evil, he was still a bad person who would even pick on the weak or those that can’t fight back. It even implied he mugged people. This is why his death was actually a contradiction He also was a ghost for longer and helped many spirits with their problems The second is in the first few arcs until the tournament, it was made clear Botan and Koenmma saw Yusuke as nothing more than an experiment and his friends as good resources to help Yusuke. Koenma even purposely gave Yusuke hard missions to see if he would survive. The final one is King Yemma was actually corrupt and controlled many weak demons, framing them by committing crimes. While many demons did commit violence on their own, the number controlled by Spirit World was no small number. Spirit World’s upper management believed they were God and the afterlife, even though Spirit World is only a junction point. It just happened to develop an army, society and territory. Koenma uncovers this and ousts his father.
Dang, I had no idea so much was changed. I don't remember anything in the anime like this. The stuff about king yenma actually seems really interesting, I always wanted to see more of what he was doing anyways.
@@nuruddinafqar1400 They didn't skip two arcs. They dropped everything. Apparently the arcs in the Manga after the escape weren't super popular so the studio decided to just ignore everything completely and instead write their own story. However the story they wrote is so much worse than the post-escape manga arcs.
@@saadb4444 Whattttttt ?? Why tf did they do that ? #facepalm So you’re telling me the 2nd season storyline from eps 1 till the latest one is completely different from the manga ?!!
@@nuruddinafqar1400 Yes it is. Not only that, they also skip a major father figure character who guides the kids after they escape. That major character got like top 10 in almost every Neverland Poll, so people are angry about that too. An arc where we meet like 10 new important characters is skipped. One of the best villains is skipped. The training arc is skipped and the arc that explains the demon and human situation is skipped. Idk why they did such an unnecessary thing
Some anime changes make sense, changing up pacing for watched medium as opposed to a read medium so switching some narrative elements around and adding to the visual presentation for the anime in a way the manga would not have been able to, adding in personality traits and quirks that can be conveyed through the visual/sound medium to more round out character, and using creative license to produce new story elements to not outpace the manga or write in new arcs where the anime has already outpaced it.
The only example I can think of the anime changing things from the source material being an improvement was The Genius Prince's Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt, which is very far from being a bestseller. In that they completely uprooted the pacing and turned it into a plotpoint speedrun, which makes the entire thing a completely different experience, but I must say they made it work.
ITS YO BOY PUFFER PUFFER! back at it again with the annoying promos. If you having a bad day, go ahead and check out the skits I do! Bless your day 🙏.. .
Im probably in the minority and I am Ok with that but I liked the ending of the anime more than where the manga went. The whole Noah book arc was extremly painfully bad to me, that it makes the anime feel better for not going towards that.
"Ok, let's remake the game" "Wait... what if we change the atmosphere, the art style, the models, the personality of the characters and completely remove all the cool features?"
So kind of like the Crysis Remaster without the multiplayer. I played 1000's of hours of Power Struggle. The campaign barely deserves a mention in comparison.
@God Slayer oh I loved that anime! For that exact reason also. They made it so they could have a vain, slightly greedy character that’s NOT sexualized at every chance it gets. Of course there was that one... apprentice girl... *shudders* but we don’t talk about her...
The Blue Dragon game (original) and anime are so vastly different it’s insane. Like, they changed almost everyone’s personalities, the storyline is completely different, and they added a “plot” character that I despise. The anime is enjoyable if I just think of it as an AU. (Also I still like Jiro.)
to be fair the fullmetal alchemist and hellsing manga was pretty succesful even if they changed a lot in the first version. but man im happy they got a remastered version true to the source.
That's a really hilarious dichotomy you set up. Especially considering many superhero movies are broadly similar, lift plots wholesale, are stuffed with references and such, but also inherently have a "it's a seperate universe" conceit that explains the differences in and out of univees and the concept of "it's another universe" is itself straight from comics...and the original comics themselves did very disconnected stuff anyway. Like how atom used to be a kinda short boxer. Or Starman. Whereas, something like...Stuart Little? I, Robot? The Lawnmower Man? Total Recall? Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Now those are the examples for changing stuff when adapting. Let me know if you look into the original source materials for those... :P
@@PanD0rado Is this a joke lmfao or do you not know what is happening to The Promised Neverland? Cause pretty sure this skit is exactly because of it lmfao
@@aguy4887 Naruto is normal, its a long running anime that caught up to the manga, its literally a choice between filler arc or Dragon Ballz style of stalling for time
Yeah, David productions is actually a good example of NOT just copy pasting the manga. They adjusted the designs so they stayed consistent throughout a part. They edited dialogue or added scenes to better convey certain parts. They got wildly creative with certain visuals or camera moves that were all not from the manga...
@@FFKonoko That and they've got really good animation, visuals, and sfx. You can tell the guys working on the anime love Jojo and are huge fans. It's truly a big love letter to jojo fans, the part 5 adaptation was damn near perfect.
man the torture dance was the best example of how wacky true fans of jojo can do if theyre in the animation scene, that one screams 100% jojo energy and its just like 1-2 panels in the original manga

This hit so hard as a fan of Shadowverse (the game) it has this brilliant story, told amazingly even though they basically only have a couple PNGs per character, and someone had the chance to animate but instead went with "nah lets do bootleg Yugioh instead".
