1. Jimmys Stream name, Flamebird, is a reference to the comics when he temporarily gained superpowers and became a superhero named Flamebird, after a Kryptonian figure of legend. 2. Leslie Wilis is Livewire, the electricity wielding supervillain. I LOVE her debut version from Superman TAS 3. The guy that captured Livewire is Slade, aka Deathstroke.
Hey, to let you know. This show PREMIERS on adult swim, but also gets played on CN after. Theyre going for stuff made for adults, but appropriate for kids.
I found it a creative and logical choice to have Clark not understand his fathers message since he wouldn't be able to speak that langue. And that way it's a good plot point to have Clark learn it and uncover it's meaning.

I'm not entirely sure, if I am remembering this correctly, but I think this show was originally developed for HBO Max and Cartoon Network, but when the whole thing with Infinity Train happened, they also dropped this show and Adult Swim saved it. There's probably more to it, though.
the girl is Livewire, she is probably one of the most well known superman villain that isn't a planetary threat. and the white-haired guy is apparently Slade Wilson aka _DeathStroke_ and that's my only minor grip with the story atm, he doesn't looks like deathstroke at all. I imagine (and hope) he'll get a redesign whenever/if he become deathstroke in this story the guy next to Waller is probably Rick Flag
I mean to be fair, this is a very young Slade and probably very much an origin story for him as well. I'm sure when the time comes, he'll look and feel very much Deathstroke as his story moves forward

I'm really interested to see that, especially since I associate his VA (which I love) with cyril figgis from Archer and it's like, the opposite of badass so I really want to see him become a fully fledge deathstroke. In any case I'm liking the show so far and I love having those reaction to rewatch and notice more stuff with ^^ (on top of having good fun while watching)

Could be falling into an optimism trap, but I'm really loving this and I think this is the best Clark Kent characterization we've seen in a LONG time. I see people already commented on Livewire, but in addition to her animated debut and her transfer to comic, she also made an appearance on live action Supergirl. But yeah, this is definitely a very different origin for her. I'm with the General Sam Lane guess for the guy behind Slade with Waller. Him conspiring with Waller in specific wouldn't even be new to DC at this point. And while I know they are race-changing a few people here, the fact that he does specifically look like he *could* be this Lois's dad makes me lean away from the Rick Flag theory.
It took me the full 2 episodes to realize who Livewire voices in She-ra and Amphibia, and while the She-ra one is a spoiler it is cool to mention Livewire is voiced by the actor who plays General Yunan, Zehra Fazal
The supervillain lady's name is Leslie Willis aka LiveWire. She first appeared in the animated Superman series in the late 90's and was popular enough to be moved to the comics along with Harley Quinn. They changed her origin story a lot though. Initially, she was a controversial radio talk show host (a Shock Jock) who ranted against Superman, but this show made her into a mercenary/thief for some reason. I wish they kept her original story, it would have made some very interesting contrasts with Lois and her crew.
