@@Hazeydaze92 yes, you're right. It seems everywhere man is, things get all effed up! Thinking of an occasional dive in the water, just to get away, if we could breathe underwater without scuba gear, would be so cool!
I know what you mean -we teach in Cornwall, pretty but kinda cold. It's fine if you wear a thick enough wetsuit, though; there's a really good Irish freediving teacher i know, so pm me if you need his details.
My family is from Long Island, Bahamas where this hole is. Videos like this are awe-inspiring and also very anxiety provoking. How vast and incomprehensible the ocean is.
It is as much space as what nasa gave us for space. Untill we can explore all the depths of the oceans I’ll never believe a ship can chart the skies. If a telescope can look millions of miles in the dark in space why can’t we see the bottom of the oceans? Go figure
@@daydreamdesignually, exploring Earth's oceans is extremely difficulty. We can see distants stars because between us and then, there's nothing, it's completely empty, there isn't even air. So because of this, the light of that star can travel and reach us. But light can't travel far in the water, about 100 meters (or 300 feet) there isn't any sunlight anymore, everything bellow this depth is in complete darkness. And without light, we can see nothing. And there is another major difficulty in studying the oceans: the pressure. We have air all around us, and this air has some weight, and it causes some pressure in us, but because we are used to it we just ignore. We measure the atmospheric pressure in atmospheres, so at the beach, we have 1 atm (one atmosphere) of pressure. The International Space Station (ISS) is in space, where it is in complete vacuum, or 0 atm. So it has to endure 1 atm of pressure difference to keep the inside of it pressurized. And it is a lot. In space movies, when a hole is opened on the ship, people are ejected out of it because of this bigger internal pressure that pushes everything outward. But on the ocean is different, every 10 meters (30 feet) of depth you go, the pressure of the water increases by 1 atm. So at 90 meters (270 feet), the pressure already is at 10 atm. A submarine at this depth would have to endure a 9 atms difference. So a submarine hull needs to be 9 times stronger then the ISS's. And at the deepest point in the sea, the Marianna's Trench, at a depth of almost 11 thousand meters, or almost 8 miles, the pressure is more than 1100 atm. A submarine to go this deep needs to be more than a thousand times stronger than the ISS. At this depth, each square inch of the hull needs to hold the weight of the Eiffel Tower on top of it. Yes, one Eiffel Tower for each and every square inch of the submarine. This is just completely absurd. Exploring the space is hard and expensive because of the Rocket Equation, and the sun's radiation, and some other things. But the biggest problem in exploring space is just the isolation, is far away from everything, and expensive and time consuming to send help. But exploring Earth's oceans is almost impossible, because of the huge Water Pressure.
thank you! that is exactly what we were trying to capture: the emotional side of freediving. How I feel about it, how it blows my mind, how I constantly discover new things. Glad you like it!
When I was younger I use to free drive before I even knew what is was it was such a stress reliever. Working up to holding my breath for 1.5 mins was awesome but then when I was 12 we moved away from the beach and I stopped
I’m happy to see that this is not just another who-goes-deeper video. I’ve dropped free diving because full of supermen showing off. Diving is something else. Thank you for this video
WOW.... look SO DEEP!!! The ocean looks completely different than where I live! I live in blue ocean zone, you can see colourful corals and fish but your place has different beauty! stunning!
I was at the edge of my seat watching this magnificent diver!! I could literally feel the sudden cold rush in my body as the diver entered the deep Blue.... Bravo bravo guys !!!! Thanks for sharing this will all the people.
@@dobklyznskovik6705 based on one's background some words have different meaning to different people across the globe. The ocean ..the depth ..the blue and cyan color ..the sunlight .. the nature all sharing oneness with the diver ... appeared magnificent to me ...hope that answers your question btw I am a simple average swimmer not a diver 🙏
Those vídeos makes me miss the beach, the ocean, the feeling and quiet of being underwater. And also are encouraging me to start practicing freedive. I need to learn. Love the videos. Sucesso for ALL!
Water IS a whole different world for us humans. We are not meant to be in it, but here we are conquering it anyway. That's part of the reason I love freediving so much, because there's nothing like being underwater.
You have blessed me this morning. I wish I possessed the power to transmit over whatever distance may separate us from one another and for just a tiny brief second share just how deep and soul killing the pain I’ve been living with these last 15 years (has been) and still is; AND then wipe it away from you forever-because that is the gift your art and skill has blessed me with this morning. I’m starting to get tears running down my face so I’ll stop-but bless you forever.
Oh wow, thank you -are you alright, though? If this video triggered something positive in you, perhaps it's a sign you should give freediving a try -it has certainly turned my life around.
you can absolutely have this feeling, you don't need to be a deep freediver or an athlete, even a beginner can already experience truly magic moments. Take a course and enjoy!
And it ain't just a few meters down and its complete darkness you have to understand that meters turn into feet very quicky, sun light isnt visible at only 90 feet or barley visible if at all, could you imagine going a normal 150 200 foot for a scuba diver,I'm not sure on those numbers but for a half way experienced scuba diver just a casual day out diving 150 feet 44 46ish meters is pretty normal, not exact with the meters yet but working on it.,feet and foot is so stupid we should have just stuck with meters it's more precise.
I'm scared and afraid of the deep sea.So this video makes me feel very uncomfortable.😦I'm just watching it bc I think the sea is one of the most beautiful places on earth but I could never swim there.
Yes, I too, have been traumatized because in the past I used to be very often because of sea urchins, and until now I am still afraid to take my family to the beach
Glad you liked it! do practice, but make sure you never do it alone in the water! Best is to take a course, it only takes a couple of days but will give you the knowledge to extend you time but also be safe.
thank you! freediving is very much about not fighting, but rather going with the water. If you get it right, it becomes peaceful and beautiful to experience and as a result looks graceful, too.
I used to free dive but not quite as deep as her. And looking at that I wonder really why more people don’t take up swimming and swimming under water. Poetry in motion as it always will be.
Unbelievable! Like the most comments I also couldn't catch this giant moment of fusion between nature and the human being. Thanks for such a beautiful moment!
thank you, that is so lovely to hear! Daan and I try to capture exactly that moment, those emotions in the videos we make together. It's nice to know we succeeded. Check out the one of us diving in a vortex of millions of fish, too, it was one of the most incredible things I have experienced underwater so far!
You're welcome! ;) We were diving last weekend too. Most waters here are old quarries. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DbP24jF6OtY.html We do only scuba and snorkeling, but it is ok for us. ;) Greetings from saxon, germany. Eye
funny you should say that, the ability to relax is the absolute key to freediving. It takes a little practice but when you learn to relax into the ocean, the experience becomes just as it looks here.
thank you! I love it when Daan and I get to work together. We are always really in tune with our vision. Check out the other video in a vortex of fish, it is spectacular!
Watching you swimming into a deep dark hole with this soothing and calm music already makes me scared and my heart rate doubled. Imagine changing the music to something scary, I literally would not be able to watch this video. Something about deep dark space underwater just creeps me up. BTW where are your oxygen tanks?
I love the sea badly and I'm quite fast to swim underwater, but not too deep. The moment I dive straight down and I see it's deep, I panic and I turn back quickly. To my bad luck, nobody around me likes to swim far away - let alone dive, so I'm always left alone to try this and I'm scared, but I guess if I have someone to dive with me, I would dare to go deeper.
OMG I was struggling to breath just watching this, how long can these guys hold their breath for I wonder. I can’t even swim, this would be a dream come true for me.
We would have to be trained very well in order to swim this deep on one breath of air! I even feel like I am drowning just watching this! Because the deeper you go, The more PRESSURE it is on your lungs & body. But this is an amazing video! Thanks for sharing!
