I am a Wal-Mart employee, and yes the register will prompt the cashier to check I'd for alcohol, ammunition and many automotive products. And at a certain number of cases of beer we have a liquor log to fill out. And at a certain amount of ammo, the register will lock up and not allow the sale.
I have someone in my family that works for WalMart. I avoid doing business with WalMart at every opportunity. They treat their employees like crap. Their management is uncoordinated and inept.
It is a policy. I took the CBLs/GLMS on it every 6months. The register is suppose to prompt associate but sometimes it doesn't. So employees are suppose. There have been people fired over selling over the limit stuff to undercover government officials. I no longer work for Walmart but the manager wasn't making it up.
You're right, pure, unadulterated "Bullshyt". Since there is no law restricting such purchases, Walmart in their infinite wisdom, institutes restrictive policies and forwards the information to the Government.
he was right about the beer. if you buy 20 cases of beer, they have to let the state know. it's because they feel when much beer is bought, then you are buying it to resell it and that is against the law
I remember the .22 LR shortage. It happened at the time I bought my first rifle, a .22. I went everywhere looking for ammo, and everybody thought I was hording. I just wanted to shoot my new .22. I couldn't find .22 LR. It was crazy.
First off, what state is this. Secondly, the State wants to control everything. Don't blame Walmart, blame the State Senators, State Representive and the Govenor who signed the measure into law. Walmart MUST, I repeat, Must follow the law.
I think this guy doesn't know the difference between store policy and laws. I had someone card me for cigarettes once and blamed it on the law. I'm clearly old enough. It is the store policy that actually directed him to card me.
They did it so everybody could get a few boxes. If they didn't idiots were buying 20 or more boxes at time causing them to run out. There were people standing in line on the morning after the ammo came in to get all the ammo. Mostly people who owned the local gun shops. If any hunter or shooter ran in to get a box to hunt or target shoot it was always gone.
If you don’t like policies at the stores shop somewhere else policies are put in place for a reason if you don’t want to abide by them find a store that fits your policy that you have for yourself.
They do have to report certain amounts of alcohol purchases due to bootlegger laws in Texas. However Walmart has an ammo policy or they did have I should say , only so many boxes of certain ammo per person per day.
I don't know why people here calling out the manager. It's clear he's trying to be helpful to the customer. It's the laws of his state and policies of his store he's trying to manage. The reality is the basis of this is to cover the store from law suits. I think the manager seems to be really helpful (e.g. hey, I don't make the policies but let me best get you through it).
*"IF"* there are limits per transaction...bring 10 friends or come back every single day till you have what you want...or separate the transactions into 3 or 4 different transactions
I love Walmart. If I don't like a particular business I don't shop there. It's that simple. There prices are low, they always have what I am looking for and they always treat me fair. Until I am dissatisfied with them for some reason, I will continue to shop there.
Problem with that is Walmart has caused all the other small businesses to close up and when you reside in a smaller community your choices are very limited because Walmart has ran out all the MA and PA shops where your business was actually appreciated and you were treated like a human being instead of getting harassed by their guard dogs at the exit for a receipt. I personally shop at dollar general just to keep from having to go to Walmart. I rather someone beat the shit out of me with a brick in a sock than to shop at Walmart, they are getting worse and worse with their made up policies!
@@only1sweetmaddy To address the, "other small businesses to close up". Those communities have to elect officials that will not accept being paid under the table by walmart. People have to get out and protest, and pledge, and keep that pledge, that they will not shop at walmart! How long do you think any walmart would stay open if no showed up when it opened? Then those other stores would not have closed. But yes, I know how walmart operates. But, if people allow it, and shop there, then it is their fault, not walmarts. A classic move of walmart's is to open stores in, say, three cities, not too far apart, maybe 30-35 miles. Those cities may have 15,000 to 45,000 people. (Obviously, there are many variations.) Then, after many (or most other) stores have been run out of business, walmart closes the two 'outer' stores. But _again,_ if no one showed up to shop at walmart to begin with, they would have to close! (If I am not mistaken, walmart has had more store closings than any other corporation in the USA, and that is the main reason why.) *BOYCOTT WALMART! WAMART SUCKS!* Heh heh!
@@only1sweetmaddy Won't go to Walmart because they put small business in a bad position. But you will go to Dollar General who does the same thing and unlike Walmart will do absolutely nothing to support the local community. Try getting them to donate to the local kids soccer team.
The manager seems cool. Like he was kinda saying get your alcohol elsewhere and it’s less worry on us both. Then when he walked away he felt like an idiot but also was just like whatever he can either listen to me or not. Edit: also he says it’s sent to the state. This may not be nationwide?
Is that a Walmart policy or a state regulation? Would be odd that Walmart would just come up with a policy to file paper with the state. That would be something they would want to avoid.
When I bought my 30 boxes of Suprema, I went to the self checkout registers and it didn't ask me for shit ! I stood there for a second and the thought crossed my mind if I should tell the cashier assistant..... fuck em, paid, left happy !
Don't want you buying beer then ammo, but ammo then beer should be ok but it depends on what the register prompts....lmao! Congrats on over 2k subs bro
I was a GM for 2 large company’s for 45 years , both sold alcohol , never was I ever told to fill out any thing for any purchase of alcohol including large purchases of alcohol , as long as the person had a valid ID , and appeared sober . this guy is full of shit ,
Support your local mom & pop gun store , you may pay a little more but it's worth it , you'll get better service and will be helping your community , and build a good relationship with your local retailers .
As any reasonably intelligent person would. Labor unions are for morons who need brute force to either get or keep a job. If you are a hard worker, and don't mess up, you need a union like a dog needs toilet paper.
let me tell ya wal mart is doing some crazy crap. I live in both florida and mississippi, one wal mart store made a hand made sign taped to the counter that read. NO AMMO OR GUN SALES TO FLORIDA RESIDENTS!! which I'am because i have a florida drivers, I bought a ruger 10/22 there on 3-24-2018 all was fine using my FL ID,then I guess after the parkland fl shooting someone at the store decided they wouldn't sell any ammo to florida residents. I spoke to the asst manager and he agreed that it wasen't right but nothing he could do about it, so just because I'am from florida im a psycho? I contacted corparate because ive tried to speak to the manager and we all know that takes hours before they'll ever come to you. The funny thing is the other wal mart in town and all gun shops will sell me ammo?? sorry for the long post
@@rochelle123ist I believe you missed my point,I cant buy from wal mart. I'm pissed about the sign. just because im from florida im a psycho?? so I do buy my ammo or long guns from my local dealer,if i want to buy a hand gum I have to wait till I go back to florida,as hand gun sales are only allowed in your home state
As far as the alchol goes. I know in maine (most other states) once over a certain amount or onces sold you need to fill out a large volume form. Mandatory by the state. Not a walmart policy.
I'm dealing with a similar situation currently. Showed up at a store that was showing the $5 AE .223 in stock. Of course none was in the cabinet so had to track down an employee asked him if he could get it out of the back, he tried to tell me that they don't keep any ammo in the back. Of course I pull out the barcode and said scan that and check inventory, showed 68 in the bin @$5 each. He goes in back and comes out with the new boxes with a different UPC that are $6.73 each and tells me they are cross referenced in the system and that it can't be price matched. Manager comes over and also refuses price match, so I am not done with them, I want my damn ammo.
Paradox the store manager is on vacation till monday, so one of the assistant managers is "in charge" and he is claiming that it is illegal for any retailer to price match ammo... So I have already made calls to corporate and I am going to stay up his ass till I get something done.
@@bills1613 How is he lying? Oh right, only in your tiny brain he is. He wasn't making up policies, in fact store managers can even tighten restrictions on ammo sales locally, at their discretion. My local store has a few extra restrictions on ammo sales, all perfectly legal.
Hes actually being legit ..ammo is truly like that.. Walmart is a shit store I totally agree not one airconditioner or chainsaw in that store is worth pissing on..honestly but the ammo is a tight deal..really.
The last at Brook road tried thar crap on me when I bought the 186 boxes of Fed premium. Her manager said sell him anything he wants if hes buying it all
Learn how to spell (Pasteur) and then use what little brains you DO have and see if you can make an intelligent comment (even though you haven't a chance!)
Take a bite out of crime. Call 911 and ask for crime dog to investigate and lift his leg on that Walmart employee who thinks ammo and beer is regulated.
Well the Communist State of California already wants to have people sign for amno. I was at a Pomona Gun show, and the Ding Bat wanted to see my drivers license, he said he had to keep track of it. I told him no he does not because I would not purchase it there, I am not going to sign for amno, Another Dumb ass law, you can not purchase new Black tips, they need to be reloads. What is with that? So the stores take the tip off dump the powder and then reload it. Now it is a reload, and ok to purchase, Must have been some stupid Democrat that wrote that law! I know my Dog has more intelligance than these Democrats in Congress!
I have this problem EVERY time I buy massive amounts of ammunition, bump stocks, ammonium nitrate, alcohol. Signed, Oklahoma bomber, Orlando nightclub shooter, Denver area students , Ted Kazynski, and the Las Vegas concert shooter.
This is where the goverment sticks there nose in and has to know what your doing and see if your maybe running a bussiness they dont know about.thats why i take a few people with me anytime i buy in bulk so they is never a question.
I havent bought ammo at walmart in so long I dont even know if they still sell it,I think I seen somthing about them stopping since this video was made.
Who buys beer and ammunition at Wal-Mart of all places? suggestion, buy beer at the liquor store, buy ammo at the sports shop. Ever notice how sport shops don't sell beer, and liquor stores don't sell ammo? ......duh......😕
